Sick and Accident Insurance. The Council will pay sick and accident insurance premiums to provide coverage for all employees for non-work related injuries and sickness. Where an employee accesses compensatory payments for income protection pursuant to this Clause, all periods of absence shall not be counted towards service. However, absence on this leave will not break service. As such, an employee shall not accrue annual leave or personal leave. Accrual for Long Service Leave shall continue during the period claimed.
Sick and Accident Insurance. A. After completion of the probationary period, the Court will provide Sick and Accident Insurance or self-insurance for employees covered by this agreement. Said insurance shall become operative on the thirty-first (31st) calendar day after occurrence of a verified disability unless the employee first chooses to utilize available vacation or sick days, and will provide 75% of employee's regular base rate of pay for a period not to exceed thirty-six (36) weeks, for illnesses or injuries arising after the signing date of this agreement in 1997, for any one disability under the conditions of insurance company policy or County self- insured conditions.
B. Payments shall be less any amounts available from other sources, including local, state or federal government.
C. If it is determined that an employee will not return to work and is eligible for pension under the County's Retirement System, such retirement shall not be deferred in order to collect on this benefit.
D. A recurrence of a previous illness which occurs within six months of return to work shall be considered to be a continuation of that illness for continuation of the sick and accident benefits.
E. The Court shall furnish a copy of the policy to each employee. The Court shall immediately notify the Union of any proposed change of insuring company and/or policy wording. This change shall then be subject to negotiation at the next scheduled bargaining session.
F. Time spent on sickness and accident shall not count towards earning sick, vacation or personal days.
G. Available sick and vacation days may be used to receive payments during the thirty (30) day waiting period.
Sick and Accident Insurance. The parties acknowledge that sick and accident insurance coverage is provided by the employer for its employees. This coverage will be provided from and with entitlements current to the provider specified. The specified provider may change during the period of this Agreement. The employer will advise employees of any changes to the insurance plan as soon as practical after the employer is notified. Should the capacity to provide the coverage be detrimentally impacted, i.e. significant increase to premium costs, the position will be reviewed by the parties to the Agreement. During a period that an employee is absent from work and covered by the Council’s Sickness and Accident Insurance policy, no annual or sick leave is accrued however such absence does not break continuity of service for the purposes of calculating long service leave. Nurses employed by the City of Tea Tree Gully as Immunisation Nurses will be classified as Level 2. ‘Registered Nurse Level 2’ means a registered nurse who holds any other relevant qualification required for working in the employee’s particular role and is required to perform duties which will substantially include, but are not confined to: Delivering immunisation services to the clients of the City of Tea Tree Gully’s immunisation service Providing support, direct, orientation and education to immunisation administration staff Providing education and counselling orientated towards the promotion of health status improvements of clients of the immunisation service Being accountable for appropriate clinical standards for the immunisation service. Changes to duties undertaken by part-time staff, as a result of changes to the Controlled Substances Act will be covered by an allowance of $1,640 per annum (pro rata for part time). The allowance commenced 1 July 2013 is annualised and paid fortnightly. Future enterprise agreement increases will be on base rate and not include this allowance, which will remain at $1,640 for the period of the Agreement. Said insurance payments shall become operative on the thirty-first (31st) calendar day after occurrence of verified disability unless the employee first chooses to utilize available vacation or sick days, and will provide payment of seventy five per cent (75%) of the employee's regular base rate of pay to a maximum of Three Hundred Fifty Eight Dollars ($358) effective January 01, 2003, Three Hundred Seventy Dollars ($370) effective January 01, 2004 and Three Hundred Eighty Dollars ($380) effective January 01, 2005, Four Hundred Dollars ($400) effective within thirty (30) days after this contract is executed in 2007 weekly for a period not to exceed fifty-two (52) weeks for any one disability under the conditions of the insurance policy or County self-insured conditions. Medical verification shall be required as determined by the Employer. Effective after this contract is executed in 2007, employees shall have the option to augment “Sick and Accident” insurance by using their accumulated vacation, sick, or personal time to a maximum of seventy-five percent (75%) of their regular base rate of pay.

Sick and Accident Insurance. All full-time employees shall be eligible for sickness and accident insurance coverage in an amount equal to sixty-six and two-thirds percent (66-2/3%) of their normal gross weekly wage (based upon eighty (80) hours of work per two-week period). These benefits shall be payable from the first (1st) day of disability due to accidental bodily injury or hospitalization or the eighth (8th) day of disability due to sickness, for the first ninety (90) days. Additionally, for the first ninety (90) days of the short- term disability, the Employer will make up the difference from the insurance’s sixty-six and two-thirds percent (66 2/3%) to one hundred percent (100%) of an employee’s gross weekly wage. Long-term disability insurance will begin on the ninety-first (91st) day of injury/illness upon certification of the disability. Long-term disability shall provide for sixty-six and two-thirds percent (66 2/3%) of an employee’s gross weekly wage (based upon eighty (80) hours of work per two-week period). Long-term disability will continue until the employee reaches age 65 or becomes eligible for normal social security benefits, whichever is later. The Employer shall pay the total premiums required for eligible employees.
Sick and Accident Insurance. The core benefit for weekly benefits will be $245.00 per week for non-occupational sickness and accident beginning on the first day of hospitalization and the 15th day of accident or sickness and continuing for 52 weeks, Payment of insurance premiums will be in accordance with the Agreement. By making additional employee contributions, employees may elect to increase their sickness and accident benefits, in $30 per week blocks, to a maximum of the lesser of $425 per week or 70% of the weekly average wage that they earned ( including overtime) during the first 39 pay periods of the calendar year. The weekly average wage for employees who did not work the full 39 pay periods will be the average for the time they did work.
Sick and Accident Insurance. The Employer will provide accident and sickness income insurance to full-time employees. Said insurance shall provide earnings shall be paid under said plan not to exceed a max imum benefit of Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) per week for a maximum benefit period of twenty six (26) weeks. -24- . .. ..-.
Sick and Accident Insurance. (NON-DUTY RELATED) The Employer shall provide Sickness and Accident Insurance for eligible employees. Insurance shall become operative on the 31st calendar day after occurrence, and it shall provide payment of seventy-five percent (75%) of employee's regular base rate of pay up to a maximum of Three Hundred Sixty-Five and No/100 ($365) Dollars weekly for a period not to exceed fifty-two (52) weeks for any one disability and under the conditions of insurance company policy. Benefits to be decreased by any amount collectible from state or federal government sources or County self-insured conditions which will be the same as was formerly provided in Crown Life Insurance Company policy. Effective January 1, 1997, employees hired after January 1, 1997, shall become eligible to apply for sick and accident coverage after 365 days from date of hire. Employees hired prior to January 1, 1997, are eligible to apply for sick and accident insurance from date of hire. Effective upon execution of this Agreement by the parties in 2001, the maximum paid shall be increased to Three Hundred Ninety-Five and No/100 Dollars ($395) except that effective after this contract is executed employees shall have the option to augment “Sick and Accident” insurance by using their accumulated vacation, sick, or personal time to a maximum of seventy-five percent (75%) of their regular base rate of pay. Effective January 1, 2020, the maximum sick and accident benefit will be increased to $500 per week.
