Summer Vacation Period. Job Assignments - The following terms and positions shall govern jobs or job assignments occurring during the summer vacation period:
Summer Vacation Period. If a grievance being processed under this Article should commence during or extend into the summer vacation period, the parties agree to meet at mutually agreeable times in order to expedite the resolution of the issue.
Summer Vacation Period. Teachers employed to work on curriculum, participate in workshops, planning sessions or other non-teaching assignments during the summer or in vacation periods, and specialists participating in such activities, will be paid the hourly rate in accordance with Article 22.J.1.
Summer Vacation Period. The period from July 1 to August 31 of each calendar year. Senior employees who request and receive one (1) or more weeks of vacation during both or either of the above specified period(s), shall not have their seniority preference for the next subsequent specified period(s) the following calendar year. Nothing shall prevent the employees, business representatives and management from adopting alternate arrangements by written agreement at individual facilities. However, if local agreement cannot be reached, then Section 6.34 a. as written above involving the definition of the winter vacation schedule rotation only shall apply. Employees splitting their vacation into two (2) or more segments shall have seniority apply for the first choice of one (1) continuous vacation period. Once all employees have been scheduled for their first choice of one (1) continuous vacation period, seniority shall apply in the same manner in each succeeding round. The granting of vacation under this provision is subject to the efficient operations of the laboratory. Requests for vacation dates during the vacation period commencing April 1 which are submitted after January 31 will be scheduled by the supervisor in the order received.
Summer Vacation Period. The summer vacation period will be defined as the 12 week period starting from the third Monday in June. The maximum number of employees away per week in this will be: A = # of seniority employees* x 2 weeks (round up) 12 weeks The off-season vacation period will be defined as the last Sunday in April to the first Monday in June and the third Sunday in September to last Sunday in April. The maximum number of employees allowed away in the selection group will be determined and adjusted as follows: B = Total entitlement of all employees* in group – (A x 12) (adjust per below) 40 weeks The maximum away adjustment (per week) is B (rounded up or down to closest full #) plus 2. During the first two (2) weeks of June and for the one (1) week period immediately following the end of the summer period, slots for vacation and the maximum number of employees away per week will be B p[lus 5 further employees. *excludes employees on LTD in excess of 104 weeks. The maximum number of employees away per crew during the weeks of Christmas, New Year’s, and March Break will be as follows: Round down B + 10 employees.
Summer Vacation Period. (i) The Summer Vacation Period commences the 2nd full calendar week of June and ends on the 3rd full calendar week of September in each calendar year,
(ii) When requesting vacation during the Summer Vacation period a Nurse must follow the process as outlined in Article 12.06 (a) and may request up to two (2) calendar weeks vacation. For the purpose of this clause "calendar week" is Monday to Sunday.
(iii) Nurses are entitled to at least two (2) calendar weeks' vacation in the Summer Vacation Period which must be consecutive, at the discretion of the Nurse but in no event shall be granted in more than two seven (7) day periods.
(iv) After the requests of all Nurses for such two (2) calendar weeks have been addressed, additional vacation time may be granted during the Summer Vacation Period on the basis of Seniority.
Summer Vacation Period. As the summer is considered the time of year when employees look forward to a span of time away from their place of employment, often with their families, and as the Employer and the union acknowledge the need to allow all employees the opportunity to request up to three weeks of continuous vacation (if available to them) while maintaining minimum coverage during this time. For the time period of July 1 to Labour Day, requests for vacation will be managed as follows:
a) All employees other than regular full time residential workers and child care workers working in Employer operated shift model homes; no more than three (3) weeks’ vacation may be initially approved, and the approvals must be structured in such a manner as to allow all staff within and across given work units the opportunity to request up to three (3) continuous weeks of vacation during this time.
b) For all regular full time residential workers and child care workers working in Employer operated shift model homes; vacation requests will be limited to one hundred and twenty (120) hours plus any meeting hours regularly scheduled during the vacation period requested.
c) The three (3) weeks or one hundred and twenty (120) hours can be taken in one block. An employee having more than three (3) weeks or one hundred and twenty (120) hours vacation entitlement can request additional time off during July and August and will be considered once all other vacation requests have been approved for their unit and/or house.
Summer Vacation Period. Employees shall be placed on unpaid leave of absence status for P.E.R.A. purposes when not employed during the summer recess.
Summer Vacation Period. An eligible Employee shall indicate their choice of summer (June 1st to September 10th) vacation dates, by April 15th of each year. The Employer shall respond, in writing, to the vacation requests by May 15th. Any vacation requests submitted after April 15th may only be considered in extraordinary circumstances at the discretion of the Employer. Vacation requests exceeding two (2) weeks will be considered once all eligible Employees who have submitted a vacation request have had an opportunity for two (2) weeks’ vacation in either June, July and/or August.
Summer Vacation Period. (a) Summer will be identified as July 1 – September 15 or the end of the posted summer schedule, whichever is later.
(b) Vacation Seniority Lists shall be posted by February 15th in each year. Vacation requests will be submitted in writing by March 30th. Part-time employees are required to submit their availability in writing for the summer schedule by March 30th.
(c) The entire schedule for the Summer Vacation Period will be posted not later than May 15 of each year.
(d) It is understood that seniority will be the deciding factor, specifically where there is a conflict, senior employees will be granted their vacation prior to employees junior to them.
(e) Employees may request all their annual vacation entitlement during the vacation years which is July 1st to June 30th.
(f) Additional vacation requests for the summer vacation period will only be considered after all employees have had their summer vacation requests processed.
