Time Off for Presenting Grievances. A bargaining unit member and Grievance Representative shall be allowed time off from regular duties with pay for attendance at scheduled meetings under the Grievance Procedure and for such other brief periods as may be reasonably necessary for consultation regarding a potential grievance when the meeting or consultation is held during the member's regularly scheduled duty hours. Consultation time off must be at such time as will not disrupt normal police duties and must have the approval of the respective immediate Supervisor and/or Captain. Such approval by the immediate Supervisor and/or Captain shall not be unreasonably withheld. The meetings between a grievant and the Grievance Representative shall be held at a University facility. Grievance Representatives shall be allowed adequate time, as approved by the immediate Supervisor and/or Captain, off the job with pay to conduct a proper investigation of each grievance. Such approval will not be unreasonably withheld. The withholding of such approval shall result in an automatic, equivalent extension of time limits within which a grievant must appeal the grievance or have it heard.

Time Off for Presenting Grievances. A grievant and a Lodge Representative shall be allowed time off from regular duties with pay for attendance at scheduled meetings under the Grievance Procedure with prior approval of their respective supervisors. The Lodge Representative or grievant must obtain prior approval from the grievant's immediate supervisor before conducting meetings with the grievant while the grievant is on duty. Such approval by the supervisor shall not be unreasonably withheld. The meetings between a grievant and the Lodge Representative shall be held at a police facility or the Lodge Office. Lodge Representatives shall be allowed adequate time, as approved by the supervisor, off the job with pay to conduct a proper investigation of each grievance. Such approval will not be unreasonably withheld and the withholding of such approval shall result in an automatic, equivalent extension of time limits within which a grievant must appeal his/her grievance or have it heard.

If approval is withheld, any applicable time limit shall thereby be extended for the period of time necessary to allow the grievant and/or representative time off to attend such meetings. When a grievance meeting is held on a shift other than the scheduled shift hours of the grievant and/or his or her Grievance Representative, both the grievant and the Grievance Representative shall be compensated for the time spent in the grievance meeting. At no time shall attendance at a grievance meeting by a Grievance Representative result in overtime pay. Such time off with pay when not on a regularly assigned shift shall not be considered as hours worked or paid status when calculating overtime.
Time Off for Presenting Grievances. A grievant and Grievance Representative shall be allowed reasonable time to pursue a grievance during their regular tours of duty with prior approval of their respective supervisors, provided that normal Departmental operations shall not thereby be interfered with or interrupted. A grievance meeting at Step Three shall, to the extent possible be held during the grievant’s tour of duty. The Grievance Representative and/or the grievant must obtain prior approval from their respective supervisor(s) before conducting meetings with each other or with other members while on duty, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. The Grievance Representative shall be allowed reasonable time, as approved by the supervisor, during the Representative’s regular tour of duty, to conduct a proper investigation of each grievance, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. The Grievance Representative may, with seventy-two (72) hours advance supervisory approval, flex his or her regular shift hours to perform duties related to the processing of grievances. Such supervisory approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. The time off so allowed the Grievance Representative shall be charged to the time allotted under Section 4.12 of this Agreement. The withholding of such approval shall result in an automatic, equivalent extension of the time limits within which a grievant must appeal the grievance or have it heard. The Township shall not incur any overtime expense as a result of this provision. Grievance meetings will be held at mutually agreeable times.
Time Off for Presenting Grievances. The aggrieved employee, Union president and any employee witnesses will be excused from their regular duties during their participation in the hearing if the hearing is held during their regularly scheduled hours of work. In no case will an employee receive payment for participating in an arbitration proceeding that is held outside of his or her regularly scheduled hours of work. The Authority shall not incur any overtime expense as a result of this provision.‌

The xxxxxxx or other Union representative shall have adequate time with pay for a proper investigation of each grievance. Employees shall not prepare or investigate grievances during working hours except as otherwise specifically provided in this Agreement.

If approval is withheld, any applicable time limit shall thereby be extended for the period of time necessary to allow the Grievant and/or Unit Chair or the grievance representative time off to attend such meetings. At no time shall attendance at a grievance meeting or related hearing by the grievant, Unit Chair or a grievance representative result in overtime pay.
