Tuition Aid Program. 1. Where a department or appointing authority of the State has established a tuition aid program, the Union shall be provided with a published description of the program, if available. Applications for tuition aid and determinations concerning the approval and conditions for payment shall be in accordance with the Merit System Rules.

B. The State Colleges/Universities Tuition Waiver Program is described in Letter of Agreement #9 in the back of this Contract.
Tuition Aid Program. Tuition aid as outlined below is available in any contract year for all regular bargaining unit employees who attend TTC work related self-improvement courses and have completed 12 months of continuous service. It is authorized only when there is a recognized mutual benefit to both the employee and the TTC. A maximum reimbursement of $2,000 per calendar year cannot be exceeded by any one bargaining unit employee. Courses considered eligible for assistance must: • be offered through the continuing education curriculum at a recog- nized community college, university or other similar educational institution; • contribute to the development of employee skills and knowledge that can be transferred to the workplace; • have a formal evaluation process of course content that indicates the employee’s successful completion of the course. For non-credit continuing education courses, a certificate granted for satisfactory completion/participation will be accepted; • have a mutual benefit to both the employee and the TTC while the employee is in his or her current position or related to a position that he or she can aspire to within the TTC; and • be taken on the employee’s own time outside of his or her normal working hours. Eligible courses include: • correspondence courses typically of the type offered by community colleges, universities and other similar educational institutions; • courses leading to a Secondary School Graduation Diploma (Grade 12); • skill development courses (e.g. English Literary Skills) offered by the various boards of education; and • courses offered through organizations that do not fall under the above guidelines, but offer specialized training for skills develop- ment conducive to the TTC’s organizational goals and objectives. This will be evaluated on a case by case basis by the Training and Development Department through the Employee Pre-Approval Request for Tuition Aid Form. Courses leading to a certificate, diploma or degree program of study will be individually assessed, based on course content and its applicability to the employee’s current position. For example, elective courses that are a requirement of a diploma or degree program will be assessed on their own individual merit and the courses applicability to the employee’s current position. Fees associated with memberships, certification and/or exams are not eligible for tuition assistance.

Employees who transfer to other divisions covered by this agreement prior to coursework being completed will be reimbursed by the division that initially approved reimbursement. Employees who cease employment prior to completing coursework will not be reimbursed. The Employer reserves the right to suspend or discontinue tuition aid should funding not be available or for other factors.

The program provides assistance in paying undergraduate tuition costs for dependent children of eligible employees. Natural or legally adopted dependent children of eligible employees must: ● Attend an institution eligible for federal Title IV Grants; ● Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree program; and ● Be in good standing, and make normal academic progress as defined by the institution they attend. Employees will be taxed on tuition benefits according to IRS regulations. Tuition aid awarded by Xxxxx will not exceed tuition costs for the institution.
Tuition Aid Program. 27.1 Tuition aid as outlined below is available for all regular Bar- gaining Unit employees who attend TTC work related self- improvement courses and have completed twelve (12) months of continuous service.

Tuition Aid Program. A. The Northern Valley Regional High School Board of Education will provide a Tuition Aid Plan as approved. Paragraph (B) applies to all employed during the 2006-2009 school years.

For professional staff, the studies should be at the graduate level, except in the case in which the subject supervisor, principal, and superintendent consider undergraduate courses to be more beneficial to the District." Tuition Aid Program. Employees working at least 66.7% time per year who have been continuously employed at the University for the equivalent of four full years of continuous employment at the time of application are eligible to participate in Xxxxx'x Tuition Aid Program (TAP) in accordance with policy and procedures as established by the University. Natural or legally adopted dependent children of eligible employees must: • Attend an institution eligible for federal Title IV Grants; • Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree program; and • Be in good standing, and make normal academic progress as defined by the institution they attend. Xxxxx will pay up to $10,000 per child per year towards the cost of undergraduate tuition only, for up to a total of four normal academic years. Employees will be taxed on tuition benefits according to IRS regulations. Tuition aid awarded by Xxxxx will not exceed tuition costs for the institution attended. If the University increases the TAP benefit for non-exempt staff the improvement will be extended to comparable bargaining unit members.

A. Pre-application counseling - if a son or daughter of an employee expresses an interest in admission to counseling to supplement that provided by his or her high school, he or she should not hesitate to make an appointment with the Admissions officers. The employee may ask the Director of Labor Relations to make this appointment and he/she will do so.
B. Pre-decision counseling - after the application of an employee’s son or daughter is received, the employee or the applicant may wish to discuss the application and the students college planning with the Admission Office. The Director of Admission is willing to counsel the students at this time and appointments may be arranged through the Director of Labor Relations.
C. Financial Aid counseling - after the application of an employee’s son or daughter is received, the University is willing to counsel the student and parents regarding financial aid. Appointments may be arranged through the Director of Labor Relations.
