UNIFORM & EQUIPMENT. 22.01 The Employer shall furnish and pay for uniforms for employees as required. The style, type and quantity of specific items shall be determined by the Employer. Such uniforms shall remain the property of the Employer. All uniform items, including shirts, shall be replaced on a one for one exchange basis only when deemed appropriate by management. The Employer shall direct the appropriate code of uniform dress including when hats and ties shall be worn. All uniforms must be new or professionally cleaned prior to issuing. 22.02 The Employer shall reimburse full-time employees for 50% of the cost of a new approved bullet-resistant vest to a maximum of YR1 $400; YR2 $425, YR3 $450; and YR 4 $ 475.00 for vests purchased after the date of ratification. A list of approved vests appear in N.I.J. standard 0101.06. Part-time employees will be entitled to the same benefit providing they remain at the employ of Brinks for 24 months period from the date of purchase. Vests must be worn at all times. The Employer shall have no liability as a consequence of vest failure, as the vest is to be purchased and utilized as herein provided is at the sole discretion of the employee. 22.03 The Employer agrees to provide a Safety Footwear Allowance by reimbursing full-time employees up to $170 and increasing to $180 year 3 of the collective agreement every twenty-four (24) months. The employee must submit a receipt in order to be reimbursed. The Safety Footwear must be black and CSA approved, with steel toes and in compliance with the Brinks’ Uniform and Appearance Policy. Part-time employees will be entitled to the same benefit providing they remain at the employ of Brinks for at least six (6) months and work at least two hundred and forty (240) hours. 22.04 A copy of this Agreement shall be placed on the bulletin board on the premises of the Employer. The Employer agrees to permit posting of any Official Union materials on a bulletin board provided by the Employer, conspicuously placed and provided exclusively for that purpose provided they are authorized and signed by an officer of the Local Union and will be confined to official Union business. UNIFORM & EQUIPMENT. 14.1 Uniforms or an allowance for items unique and required for the proper and safe delivery of public services will be provided. 14.2 The City has implemented a quarter-master system under which the City shall be responsible for cleaning and replacing worn, damaged or incorrectly sized issued uniform items. 14.3 Personal Cellular Telephones – Represented employees will be responsible for owning and maintaining a cellular phone capable of receiving department dispatches over an Android or Apple or other capable operating system application. The employee will be expected to have their phone with them while on duty to receive dispatches. The City shall not be allowed to monitor, access or inspect an employee's personal cell phone or personal cell phone records. Employees who fail to comply with this provision regarding the maintenance and use of personal cell phones for receiving department dispatches shall not be subject to discipline. The City and the employee will comply with RCW 42.56 (Public Records Act). The positions of Battalion Chief and Deputy Fire Marshal have been identified to have need for use of personal phones and shall be eligible for a fifty dollar ($50) monthly reimbursement for said use subject to the provision above 14.4 Each represented employee shall be issued the following uniform items that are NFPA 1975 compliant and in new condition upon employment and shall be maintained by the City:

(2) Each Member and each plainclothes Member shall be entitled to have one hundred and eighty (180) pieces of uniform clothing including shirts cleaned per year, and to have an all-season jacket or plainclothes overcoat (whichever is applicable to the Member’s line of duty) cleaned four (4) times per year.

However, a report must be written before the end of the tour of duty stating what equipment or uniform was damaged and the circumstances causing the damage. This must be approved by the Fire Chief or his/her designee before the equipment will be replaced. This shall include the normal wear and tear encountered in the duties of the Fire Department and its employees.
UNIFORM & EQUIPMENT. The uniform worn shall conform to District guidelines for summer/winter regulations, dress occasions, parades, protective clothing, etc. The District shall provide all of the above uniforms deemed necessary. The appropriate dress code may be adjusted upon prior written approval from the chief. The District shall reimburse the employee a maximum of $40 per month for the use of his personal cell phone, computer, and/or data plan for District business. Employee shall submit a monthly voucher requesting reimbursement for such expenses. Certifications will be current as indicated in the New York State Civil Service position description for Director of Emergency Medical Services: New York State Department of Health Certified Paramedic, Xxxxxx Valley Regional EMS Medical Advisory Committee Credentials.
