WAGES AND JOB CLASSIFICATION. 18.01 The classifications and rates of pay for each classification shall be those as set out in the attached schedule "A". (a) A Full-Time nurse shall advance to the next increment level from the nurse's present level on the anniversary date of employment. If a nurse's absence without pay from the Centre exceeds thirty (30) working days, during the period between scheduled increments, advance to the next increment level will be extended by the length of such absence except as provided for pregnancy/parenting leave. Union leave will not be considered absence without pay for the purpose of this clause. (b) Each Part-Time nurse will be advanced from the present level to the next level as set out in schedule "A" of this Agreement after working fifteen hundred (1500) hours. 18.03 Nurses shall be paid once every two (2) weeks. At the time of such pay, the hours worked, pay earned and all deductions shall be shown in writing either upon the pay cheque or upon a slip attached thereto. Deductions for income tax and Canada Pension Plan shall be made as required by law and other deductions shall be made in a manner convenient to the Centre, but so as to attempt to equalize such pay for regular hours. The Centre shall not be required to split monthly deductions for any one deduction. 18.04 In the event that the Centre should establish a new job classification, the Centre and the Union shall agree on an appropriate rate for such new classification within and commensurate with the rate structure established by this Agreement. In the event of failure to agree on a rate within two (2) weeks of a request by the Centre to the Union to reach such an agreement, the Centre shall set a rate and a nurse assigned to such classification shall perform the work required at such rate and may, or the Union may, require the rate to be finally determined by means of the grievance procedure commencing at Step #2. 18.05 (a) Claim for recent related clinical experience, if any, shall be made in writing by a nurse at the time of hiring on a form to be provided by the Employer and returned within (4) weeks of the start date. Once established consistent with this provision, credit for recent related experience will be retroactive to the nurse’s date of hire. The nurse shall co-operate with the Centre by providing verification of previous experience so that her or his recent related clinical experience may be determined and evaluated during her or his probationary period. WAGES AND JOB CLASSIFICATION. 11.01 Employee shall be classified in accordance with the skills used and shall be paid not less than the minimum rate for such classification in accordance with the Schedule of Job Classifications and Hourly Rates of Pay as set forth in Appendix "A" attached hereto and made part of this Agreement. 11.02 It is expressly understood that the salaries herein provided are minimum scale. This Agreement shall not be so construed as to reduce the pay or increase the hours of any employee, within the bargaining unit, nor shall it be so construed that any employee may not be given an increase in pay before period specified or be advanced or promoted in the service of the Company. Employees will be placed on the wage rate step to correspond with the length of service and will then receive automatic wage increases in accordance with the length of service provisions of Appendix "A" 11.03 Any position not covered by Appendix "A", new positions which may be established during the life of this Agreement; or re-classification of existing positions, shall be subject to negotiations and agreement between the Company and the Union with respect to classification and salary for the position in question. In the event the Parties fail to agree, such matters may be referred to the grievance and arbitration procedures as defined in Articles 18 and 19 of this Agreement. 11.04 Where an employee has the necessary qualifications and ability to handle the work, there shall be no discrimination between candidates in the matter of appointments to vacant positions or in salaries for such positions. The Company recognizes equal pay for equal work.‌

WAGES AND JOB CLASSIFICATION. 14.01 The classifications and the rates of pay for each classification shall be those as set out in Appendix "A" attached. 14.02 a) When a job classification is created or where this is a significant modification to the essential duties of the job, the Union shall be given prior notice in writing; b) If the local union challenges the rate, it shall have the right to request, in writing, a meeting with the Employer to endeavour to negotiate a mutually satisfactory rate. A request must be made within ten (10) working days after the receipt of notice from the Employer of such new occupational changed rate; c) If the parties are unable to agree, the dispute concerning the new rate may. be submitted to arbitration as provided in the Agreement within twenty (20) working days of such meeting. The decision of the Board of Arbitration, or the Arbitrator, as the case may be, shall be based upon a comparison with the rates for other classifications within the establishment having regard to the nature of the work and the requirements of such classification.
WAGES AND JOB CLASSIFICATION. 14:01 The classifications and the rates of pay for each classification shall be those as set out in Appendix “A” attached. 14:02 When a job classification is created or where this is a significant modification to the essential duties of the job, the Union shall be given prior notice in writing. 14:03 If in the opinion of the Employer, a new employee has by reason of previous experience sufficient skill, the Employer may at any time up to the end of the probationary period, credit such previous experience so that it reflects in the rate of pay. 14:04 When an employee, at the request of the Employer, temporarily relieves and performs the principle duties of a higher classification for a period in excess of two (2) hours or more, he/she shall receive the rate of pay for the higher classification. In such cases, payment shall be made from the commencement of the assignment. 14:05 Where an employee at the request of the Employer, performs the principle duties of a position outside the bargaining unit for a period in excess of two (2) hours, then he/she shall receive three dollars and fifty cents ($3.50) per shift, providing he/she has worked in those duties for the remainder of the shift. 14:06 Where an employee, at the request of the Employer, is temporarily requested to perform the principle duties of a lower classification, his/her rate of pay shall not be reduced.

WAGES AND JOB CLASSIFICATION. 17.01 All full-time employees covered by this Agreement shall, subject to the other provisions of this Agreement be grouped and paid according to the groups and wage rate schedule attached to this Agreement. All employees will be paid accordingly to the wage rates and job classifications. 17.02 Employees shall be hired at a rate at least equal to the probationary rate as appears in in the wage classification chart, Management reserves the right to pay an employee a higher rate than listed, up to the top rate, however, if an employee is hired at a rate above the rates specified by this Agreement, they will progress from that rate forward. The top rates in each classification are minimum rates of pay. Any adjustment above the top wage rates would have to be paid to all of the employees in the classification. 17.03 In the event that the Company should establish a new job classification, the Company and the Union shall agree on an appropriate rate for such new classification within and commensurate with the rate structure established by this Agreement. In the event of failure to agree on a rate within two (2) weeks of a request by the Company to the Union to reach such an agreement, the Company shall set a rate and an employee assigned to such classification shall perform the work required at such rate to be finally determined by means of the grievance procedure commencing at Step 3. 17.04 Employees will be paid on the following Friday for the work performed during the previous week.
WAGES AND JOB CLASSIFICATION. 17.01 Attached hereto and constituting a part of this Agreement is Appendix “B” setting out classifications, wages and other matters applicable hereto.
