CALL BACK AND STANDBY. 13.1 CALL BACK: When a member is specifically called back and authorized to return to duty outside of his/her regular shift schedule for regular duty, he/she shall be paid on the basis of a minimum of three hours (3) at one and one half times the employee's regular hourly rate. If the call back exceeds three hours, the employee shall be compensated at one and one-half (1 1/2) times the employee's regular rate of pay, for all hours actually worked. 13.1.1. The minimum guarantee provided by this Section shall not be applicable to an extension of the member’s regularly scheduled shift regardless of whether such extension occurs at the beginning or the end of the employee’s regularly scheduled shift. 13.2 STANDBY: Whenever any employee is notified to "standby" by competent authority, the employee shall be paid two (2) hours at the overtime rate, even if the employee is not required to report to a duty assignment. Any portion of an hour or hours an employee is placed on standby, shall also be paid at the overtime rates.

CALL BACK AND STANDBY. A. If a regular, full-time employee is ordered to report for work on his or her assigned day off, he or she will be guaranteed eight (8) hours pay, provided the employee reports for work as ordered. A mini-schedule employee ordered to report for work on his or her assigned day off will be guaranteed six (6) hours pay provided the employee reports for work as ordered. No employee may be ordered to work both of their regular days off in the same work week, except in an emergency. B. Any regular employee who is requested by the District to and agrees to report on his or her assigned day off will be guaranteed four (4) hours pay, provided the employee reports for work as he/she agreed to do. Any mini schedule employee who is requested by the District to and agrees to report on his or her assigned day off will be guaranteed three (3) hours pay, provided the employee reports for work as he/she agreed to do. The District will first seek volunteers to work their assigned day off before ordering employees to do so. C. When an employee is required to standby, he/she shall be guaranteed a minimum of two (2) hours at the applicable rate of pay.
CALL BACK AND STANDBY. 25.1 An employee called in for work at a time other than the employee’s scheduled shift will be compensated for a minimum of two (2) hours’ pay at one and one-half (1 ½) times the employee’s base rate of pay. 25.2 An employee on call back is considered to be on duty for the full two hours. Additional call backs received within the same two-hour call back period do not qualify for additional call back pay. 25.3 An employee assigned by the EMPLOYER to be on standby with a pager, shall be compensated as follows: Monday through Thursday: one (1) hour of straight time per day paid at the top pay rate for the position subject to standby (pager) pay. Friday through Sunday and Holidays: two hours of straight time per day paid at the top pay rate for the position subject to standby (pager) pay. In case of switching of standby duty by employees, the EMPLOYER’S obligation is limited to compensation for standby based on time sheet records. 25.4 Carrying of a pager is required as determined by the EMPLOYER. A six (6) month schedule will be posted in advance for a period of thirty (30) calendar days giving employees the opportunity to voluntarily sign up for particular weeks. For any time not signed up for the EMPLOYER shall retain the full authority to assign employees as equally as practicable. This schedule will then be re-posted giving all employees advance notification. Each employee assigned to carry a pager must sign up for one (1) week in a rotation period. The length of a rotation period will depend on the number of employees assigned to carry a pager as determined by the EMPLOYER.

A part-time liquor store employee called in for work at a time other than the employee's scheduled shift will be compensated for a minimum of two (2) hours' pay at one (1) times the employee's base rate of pay. 25.2 An employee on call back is considered to be on duty for the full two hours. Where such notification is received after completion of the employee’s regular work day, the Employer shall pay the employee a minimum of three hours pay at one and a half times the employee’s regular hourly rate for such callback work performed. There shall be no compensation paid for callback where a callback of three hours pay at overtime rates have already been provided to a particular employee prior to midnight on any given day.

Time spent by an employee reporting to work or returning to his or her residence shall not constitute time worked.

The District will first seek volunteers to work their assigned day off before requiring employees to do so . In the event that staffing levels allow “adequate stand” to become available, it may be offered to employees who are requested by the District and agree to report on their regular day off, based on the needs of the District to maintain the current level of service .

CALL BACK AND STANDBY. On-Call Pay 1. Call Back: Unit members are subject to call back to respond to emergencies or operational issues identified by the Police Chief or his/her designee. a) Call back is the unscheduled call to an off-duty employee requiring that they report to work. Call back procedures are established by department policy. b) Unit members are compensated at time and one half an employees’ regular hourly rate of pay for hours worked beginning when they are called to report for duty. c) Unit members provided with a cell phone or pager to facilitate contact from the department but who are not otherwise restricted in personal pursuits nor required to comply with pre-established response times are compensated under call back should they be required to respond to work. 2. Standby/On-Call: Unit members may be scheduled for standby/on call duty (typically in one week increments). Standby/On-Call duty is prescheduled. a) Standby/On-Call for one week increments will be compensated with seven (7) hours of base pay or compensatory time-off. b) Standby/On-Call for less than one week increments will be compensated with one (1) hour of base pay per day or compensatory time off. c) Employees whose comp time balance is at the maximum (120 hours) will be paid Standby/On-Call pay as straight time at his/her base hourly rate of pay. d) Employees assigned to standby/on-call are subject to the following requirements: 1. Be ready to respond immediately to calls for service; 2. Be reachable by telephone, pager or vehicle radio; 3. Be en route as soon as possible, but no longer than thirty
CALL BACK AND STANDBY. 27.01 An employee required to standby or remain available on other than regularly scheduled hours shall be paid at the rate of one dollar ($1.00) per hour of standby time. 27.02 The Employer shall provide a device (e.g. cell phone, pager) that shall maximize the freedom of an employee who is required to remain on standby.
