Floating Rotation. The Medical Center agrees to orient Resource Team Nurses to help cover the needs of each care set. If the Resource Team cannot fulfill a staffing request on a given unit and there is a need to float an available nurse from one unit to another to meet patient care needs, the Medical Center will float in the following order, based on their care set and unit competency criteria:
Floating Rotation. Swedish Xxxxxxx agrees that reassignments from a posted schedule will be minimized as reasonably possible. When it is necessary to float a nurse to another unit or department the Employer agrees to follow 7.1.1 floating sequence and when necessary to float a unit based staff member In the event there are no volunteers, the Employer will rotate floating or reassignments equitably among all employees in the affected job classification on a unit on each shift, starting with the least senior employee first, provided skills, competence, ability and availability are considered substantially equal in the opinion of the Employer. If an individual volunteers to float that shall be counted for purposes of the rotation list. The rotation list will be restarted January 1 and July 1 of each year, beginning with the least senior employee.

When it is necessary to float an employee to another unit or department or to assign an employee to another campus, the Employer agrees to follow 8.1.1 floating sequence and when necessary to float a unit based staff member, first seek volunteers from the employees working or scheduled, provided skill, ability and competence are substantially equal in the opinion of the Employer. In the event there are no volunteers, the Employer will rotate floating or reassignments equitably among all employees in the affected job classification on a unit on each shift, starting with the least senior employee first, provided skills, competence, ability and availability are considered substantially equal in the opinion of the Employer. If an individual volunteers to float or to go to another campus that shall be counted for purposes of the rotation list. The rotation list will be restarted January 1 and July 1 of each year, beginning with the least senior employee. Upon request by the employee, when the employee does not have their own transportation, the Employer will be responsible to provide transportation between campuses or home if the employee is not able to get back to their home campus before the end of shift.
Floating Rotation. In extenuating circumstances, if a staff must be floated leaving a unit below core staffing, the unit will use the following order to address staffing needs:

Floating Rotation. The order of float for employees within a unit or cluster will be on a rotational basis within each of the categories of employees described above. Volunteers for floating would be allowed within B. 4 to B.6. Floating decisions shall be based on the needs of the patients/department, on the sending and receiving units and the floating conditions and provisions in this Article.
Floating Rotation. Once employees in categories A and B have floated, the order of float for employees within a unit or cluster will be on a rotational basis within each of the remaining categories. Volunteers for floating will be allowed first within C through E above. After volunteers are sought, if there are no volunteers or not enough volunteers, floating shall be done first among Per Diem employees (whether scheduled or working an extra shift); if additional floating is required and/or there are no Per Diem employees working that day, floating shall be done among Part Time employees (whether scheduled or working an extra shift), and the same process shall be followed. Full Time employees (whether scheduled or working an extra shift) are the last option. Floating decisions shall be based on the needs of the patients or department (if non-patient care unit) on the sending and receiving units and the floating conditions and provisions in this Article.
