H ealth and Safety. The Hospital remains committed to providing education, products and equipment, work practice controls, and engineering controls to minimize employee risks from occupational injury or exposure. The Hospital shall also continue to provide confidential twenty-four (24) hour information and referral for employees sustaining occupational injury or exposure. This commitment to employee’s health and safety is documented in the Employer’s Infection Control Program.
H ealth and Safety. It is the policy of the University of Washington to create, maintain and enhance a safe and healthful workplace free from recognized hazards that may cause harm to employees, consistent with and in compliance with applicable state and federal laws. The Union and the University are jointly and equally committed to the goal of implementing an effective Health and Safety program and accident prevention program that meets or exceeds WISHA requirements. All work shall be performed in conformity with applicable health and safety standards, and employees shall use required safety devices and perform work according to required safety procedures.

H ealth and Safety. 25.01 The Employer and the Union agree that they mutually desire to maintain standards of safety and health in the work environment in order to prevent accidents, injury and illness.
25.02 The Employer further agrees that it shall comply with applicable Federal, Provincial , and Municipal health and safety legislation and regulations , including the Occup ational Health and Safety Act.
25.03 The Employer and the Union agree that it is in the best interests of both parties that they continue to work, whenever possible , when they are on sick leave or WS IB benefits , due to an illness, injury or modified and restricted duties. Representatives from the Employer and the Union from the workplace Occupational Health and Safety Committee will review the list of modified work appropriate to the injured worker on WS IB. The Committee recognizes its responsibilities under the appropriate legislation (s) in accommodating an employee bac k to the workplace. Sick Leave - Paid/ Unpaid It is understood that the Employer will make every effort to accommodate those employees on sick time (paid or unpaid) who may be a ble to return to wor k with their Doctor's permission. The employee, if a ble, will pa rtic ipate in return to work programs offered by the Employer. 36 Special leave to provide care for sick child or family member: A full-time employee shall be g ranted up to two (2) days pe r year out of his/her acc rued sick leave to p rovide ca re for a sick child or family member.
H ealth and Safety. 20.01 The Employer and the Union agree that they mutually desire to maintain standards of safety and health in the Home, in order to prevent injury and illness and abide by the Occupational Health and Safety Act as amended from time to time. The Employer shall prepare a comprehensive policy on resident handling and safe work practices within six (6) months of the date of settlement/award. Such policies will be reviewed by the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
20.02 A joint management and employee Health and Safety Committee shall be constituted with representation of at least half by employees from the various bargaining units and of employees who are not represented by Unions and who do not exercise managerial functions, which shall identify potential dangers, recommend means of Improving the health and safety p rograms and obtaining information from the Employer or other persons respecting the identification of hazards and standards elsewhere. The committee shall normally meet at least quarterly. Scheduled time spent in such meetings is to be considered time worked for which representative(s) shall be paid by the Employer at his or her regular or overtime rate. Minutes shall be taken of all meetings and copies shall be sent to the Committee members. Minutes of the meetings shall be posted on the workplace health & safety bulletin board. The Employer shall provide the time from work with pay and all related tuition costs and expenses necessary to certify the worker representative. Where an inspector makes an inspection of a workplace under the powers conferred upon him or her under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the employer shall afford a certified committee member representing workers the opportunity to accompany the Inspector during his or her physical inspection of a workplace, or any part or parts thereof. Where a worker certified member is not on-site and available, the Employer shall afford a worker health and safety representative If any, or a worker selected by a Union, because of knowledge, experience and training, to represent it, the opportunity to accompany the inspector during his or her physical Inspection of a workplace, or any part or parts thereof.
20.03 Two (2) representatives of the Joint Health and Safety Committee, one {1 ) from management and one (1) from the employees, shall make monthly Inspections of the work place and shall report to the health and safety committee the results of their inspection. The members of the Co...
H ealth and Safety. A. N ew Environment: Student and Parent/Guardian understand, acknowledge, and agree that adjusting to a new environment, which often involves being away from current support systems, can be a stressful and emotionally challenging experience for anyone. Parent/Guardian acknowledges these challenges and agrees to identify and provide additional support, as necessary, based on Student’s individual circumstances.
H ealth and Safety. There will be a Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee in the workplace consisting of equal representation from the Union and the Employer. The Committee will operate in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Committee Act, RSO 1990, Chapter O.1.
H ealth and Safety. 16.1. All work shall be done in accordance with State and Federal safety codes and Library safety policies.
16.2. Where required, employees will be furnished personal protective equipment by the Employer in accordance with the Employer's policy and will be required to wear said equipment when performing certain work. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action.
16.3. The Library has the right to implement fit for duty policies and procedures including drug and alcohol testing. Such policies shall be consistent with the mutual commitment of the parties to support policies that promote a workplace free from substance abuse.
16.4. Local 1857 may appoint one Page as a representative to the Library's System-wide Safety Committee.
H ealth and Safety. All meetings held as per Federal Occupational Health and Safety Canada Labour Code, the sum of $1 1 .30 shall be paid to all attendees. Effective September 1, 2003 Effective September l, 2004 $1 1 .58 per hour $1 1 .86 per hour
H ealth and Safety. The District, Union and employees agree that the maintenance and promotion of a safe and healthy work environment is a shared objective. Employees shall not be required to work under any unsafe or hazardous conditions or to perform tasks which are found to endanger them. An employee who believes unsafe or hazardous conditions exist in the work place shall immediately notify their supervisor. Complaints received under this section will be expeditiously investigated and, where appropriate, action will be taken as soon as possible to remedy the problem.
