U nion Leave. With thirty (30) days’ notice, the Union may request that an employee be granted an unpaid union leave of absence of up to twelve (12) weeks to assume a position with the Union. Unless staffing considerations preclude the leave, the Employer shall provide the leave, in increments of four (4) weeks. During the leave, the employee shall be provided with the same medical, dental and life insurance benefits consistent with their FTE level. Since the employee will not have a paycheck, the employee must make necessary arrangements to pay for dependent coverage before the premium is due. Upon expiration of the leave, the employee shall be returned to their position subject to the same rights as employees returning from FMLA leave. If the employee does not return from leave, the employee shall reimburse the Employer for the medical benefits provided during the leave, based on COBRA costs. A RTICLE 16 - COMMITTEES 16.1 L abor/Management Committee for All Bargaining Contracts (the “ABC” Committee). The Employer, jointly with representatives selected by the Union, will join the Swedish Medical Center Labor Management Committee for All Bargaining Contracts (the “ABC” Committee). Efforts will be made to rotate meeting locations between Swedish Medical Center and Swedish/Xxxxxxx.

U nion Leave. Leave of absence shall be granted upon written request by the Union at least two (2) weeks in advance of the start of such leave, for members of the Union to attend Union conventions, seminars and schools. Such leave shall not exceed a total of twenty-five (25) days in any one calendar year with no more than four (4) employees on leave at one time, no more than two (2) of whom shall be from a single department or branch. Employer will be reasonable in granting exceptions to the limits (e.g. review availability of staff to cover additional absences). The Union shall reimburse the Employer for the full amount of the pay received for such leave of absence.
U nion Leave. Should an employee be appointed to a full-time position with the Union, they may apply for a leave of absence for a three (3) month period. During the period of time they are on this leave, their seniority shall continue with the Employer and such leave of absence may be renewed for three (3) terms of three (3) months each. A RTICLE 13 RATES OF PAY 13.01 The minimum rates of pay and job classifications for bargaining unit members 13.02 Employees shall not be paid less than the rate for the classification to which they are assigned, unless provided otherwise in this Agreement. 13.03 Where a new position is established, rates of pay, classification, and other related matters shall be discussed between the Employer and the Union. Wages shall be paid bi-weekly. 13.05 An employee who is temporarily assigned to a lower-paying position shall continue to be paid the rate and benefits of her regular position for the time she performs the work.

U nion Leave. Leave of absence without pay shall be granted for Union business up to an aggregate maximum for all employees to thirty-six (36) working days per year, provided it does not interfere with the efficient operation of the Employer's undertaking and operation, subject to the following conditions: 1. No more than three (3) employees are absent on any such leave at one time. No more than two (2) employees from one (1) zone will be absent at any one time. 2. Requests for such leaves shall be made in writing to the Executive Director at least two (2) weeks in advance and, where possible, at least four (4) weeks in advance, such requests to state the particulars of the function to be attended.
U nion Leave. The District will approve up to 30 days of leave per year for the PRPE president or designee, limited to no more than 5 days per person, subject to the following: 1) PRPE president or designee may use 1 day per month for union business (paid for by the District), to a maximum of 10 days. U nion Leave. The Union shall have five (5) days annually for use of Union business. Notification will be made in writing to the building principal at least three (3) calendar days in advance of the day to be used. Twenty-four (24) hours’ notice is sufficient in case of emergency. The Union shall pay for the cost of a substitute. The Association President shall have time to deal with grievance issues within the District during the school day that cannot be dealt with during non-working hours.
U nion Leave. A leave of absence not to exceed ninety (90) days may be granted to an employee in order to accept a full-time position with the Union or for any Union event where the employee would need to miss more than five (5) scheduled shifts. Written notice must be given to the employee’s supervisor at least thirty (30) days in advance of the posting of the work schedule when the leave would start. The employee shall not lose or accrue seniority during this period. An employee returning before or within thirty (30) days shall return to her/his former unit and position. After thirty (30) but within ninety (90) days, the employee shall return to a comparable position if available. This right may be exercised only once in a twelve (12) month period.

  • Union Leave Leave of absence for Union business shall be given without pay up to a maximum of (as per the local provisions under L19) days per calendar year provided such leave does not interfere with the continuance of efficient operation of the Hospital. Such leave shall be subject to the following conditions: (a) not more than (as per the local provisions under L19) employees of the Hospital are absent on any such leave at the same time, and not more than (as per the local provisions under L19) employee from a department; (b) a request must be made in writing at least twenty-one days prior to the commencement of the function for which leave is requested, unless it is not reasonably possible to give such notice; (c) such request shall state the general nature of the function to be attended; (d) employees on a Union Leave which is approved by the Hospital in accordance with the above conditions shall be paid for such leave by the Hospital. The Hospital shall then forward a statement of such wages paid to the employee affected to the union for reimbursement of the amount stated; (e) an employee who is elected or appointed to office with the CAW, shall upon application by the Union in writing, be granted a leave of absence without loss of seniority and benefits for up to three (3) years. An extension shall be granted upon written application by the employee to the administration of the Hospital. During such leaves of absence, salary and benefits shall be kept whole by the Hospital and the Union agrees to reimburse the Hospital for such salary and the Hospital's contribution to said benefits. The employee agrees to notify the Hospital of the employee's intention to return to work within two (2) weeks following the termination of office for which the leave was granted. The union agrees to notify the Hospital five (5) months in advance of the Local Union election. The union further agrees that the requirement to meet under Article 14 will be waived. At the end of such leave, any employee hired or placed as a substitute for the employee on such absence, may be terminated or laid off by the Hospital as required, or may be transferred to the employee's previous position if the substitution was a transfer. An employee on leave of absence under this provision shall continue to accumulate all rights and privileges under this Agreement. It is understood that the intent of this article is that it shall normally apply to only one employee at a time per circumstance as noted above, and that the Union shall provide adequate notice prior to an employee commencing Union Leave of Absence. Further applications may be granted consistent with the Hospital’s staffing requirements. In addition, it is understood that any employee so elected or appointed is required to maintain their competence in the event that they are to return to the workplace.

  • Union Leaves Employees on Union Leaves will be treated as provided in Article 18 (Q) while working on Union leave.

  • Union Leave of Absence 22:01 (a) The Employer shall grant leave of absence to employees to attend Union conventions, seminars, educational classes or other Union business. It is understood that the Union will not request leave of absence for more than four (4) full-time employees and three (3) part-time employees at any one time and the total leave of absence in any year shall be not more than an aggregate of thirty (30) working days for full- time employees and fifteen (15) working days for part- time employees.   • Federation Leave A leave of absence for the president and a second position of the Federation shall be granted to any employee covered by this Agreement upon application by the Federation for the purpose of the employee serving as an officer of the Federation. The District shall continue to pay such employee(s) and provide benefits, with the exception of leave benefits, but will be reimbursed by the Federation for the cost of salary and fringe benefits. Upon return from such leaves, an employee shall proceed on the salary schedule as if s/he had been employed with the District each year of the leave. The Federation agrees to consider carefully each request for release time for Federation members.   • Blood Donation Leave Leave shall be granted to employees to donate blood at an onsite and Appointing Authority endorsed program.

  • Vacation Leave 11.1 Employees will retain and carry forward any eligible and unused vacation leave that was accrued prior to the effective date of this Agreement.

Where employees are required by the Hospital to take courses to upgrade or acquire new employment qualifications, the Hospital shall pay the full costs associated with the courses. Subject to operational requirements, the Hospital will make every reasonable effort to grant requests for necessary changes to an employee's schedule to enable attendance at a recognized up-grading course or seminar related to employment with the Hospital."

  • Donor Leave An employee shall be granted the necessary leave of absence with pay for the purpose of donating bone marrow or an organ.
