JOB POSTING AND TRANSFERS. 21.01 The job posting will state duration of assignment, i.e., permanent, temporary (maternity leave) etc., the school location, special circumstances, and full-time equivalent (FTE). 21.02 1. Positions which become available following June 15th, shall be posted on the Intranet and in the Board's Administration Centre. Educational Assistants wishing to apply are encouraged to call the Board's Administration Centre.

If, during that period, either the Employer or the Employee deems it appropriate, the Employee may be placed back in a position equal to the one they held prior to the appointment, promotion or transfer at their previous Basic Rate of Pay. 25.05 When a vacancy occurs and the Employer decides not to post and/or fill such vacancy, the Union will be notified in writing within fourteen (14) calendar days of the decision not to fill the vacancy. 25.06 Where a temporary vacancy is anticipated to be greater than six (6) calendar months, it shall be posted, within fourteen (14) calendar days of notification and/or expectation of extended vacancy. The Employee accepting the Temporary Full-time (TFT) shall revert back to his/her former position when the vacancy comes to term. 25.07 The term of the TFT may be extended without being posted, if the extension is offered by the Employer and accepted by the incumbent prior to the original vacancy term end date. 25.08 No TFT position shall be for a term longer than two (2) calendar years. 25.09 If the TFT Employee becomes a Permanent Full-time Employee, his/her seniority date will be set as the first day of their employment within the TFT they were filling, provided there was no break of longer than thirty (30) calendar days between TFT and becoming permanent Full-time, excluding the Employer’s hiring process and timelines therein. 25.10 Where, in the opinion of the Employer, there is concern about an applicant’s medical suitability for a position, the Employer may, for cause, require the applicant to undergo a medical examination at the Employer’s expense. 25.11 In the event the Employer wishes to establish new ...

During the school year, bargaining unit vacancies shall be posted for a period for five (5) calendar days and during the summer months for a period of seven (7) calendar days inclusive of the initial date of posting. JOB POSTING AND TRANSFERS. In the event new jobs are created or vacancies occur in existing job classifications (unless the Employer notifies the Union in writing that it intends to postpone or not fill a vacancy), the Employer will post new jobs or vacancies for a period of ten (10) calendar days and shall stipulate the qualifications, rate and department concerned before new Employees are hired in order to allow Employees with seniority to apply. If no applications are received by 10:00 a.m. of the fourth day following the posting date, the Employer may start proceeding to secure applications from outside labour sources. In the event an Employee should apply for the position, the provisions of Article 12.02 shall apply. If the applicants are not qualified to perform the work required, the Employer reserves the right to immediately hire outside help. The Employer will post the name of the successful applicant when the position has been filled. The Employer will discuss with the unsuccessful applicants the manner in which the Employee may improve her position and her work in order to be considered for any future vacancy. The job posting shall include the shift and hours of work. Nothing herein interferes with the right of the Employer to subsequently change the same. Nothing herein shall prevent the Employer from temporarily filling any position or vacancy during the processing of the posting. An employee who applies for and is awarded a position, shall not be eligible to apply for another position for a period of six (6) months, except in cases where the position is of greater hours or in a different job classification. Employees transferred through the job posting procedure will be paid in the following manner: (a) When the Employer requires an employee to substitute on a higher rate job covered by this Agreement (not including RPN’s assigned to RN duties) for at least one-half of their regularly scheduled shift, they a shall be paid, in addition to their regular salary, an amount equal to the difference between the job rate for the new position for the period worked. (b) When the Employer temporarily assigns an employee to carry out the responsibilities of a salaried employee outside of the bargaining unit for a period in excess of ½ shift, the employee shall receive an allowance of seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) for each shift from the time of the assignment. JOB POSTING AND TRANSFERS. 13.01 When vacancies occur, or new jobs are created they shall be handled in the following manner: The Employer shall post all vacancies for positions covered by this Collective Agreement and new jobs created by this Agreement on bulletin boards where all employees may see them. A copy of the posting shall be given to the Union Xxxxxxx at the time of the posting. Employees shall have the right to make written application within seven (7) calendar days of the posting to fill such vacancies or new jobs and if the applicants have sufficient ability to perform the work, vacancies or new jobs shall be filled from applications received on the basis of seniority and ability to perform the job duties. 13.02 Management will post all vacancies in the bargaining unit positions within three (3) days of notification. Dependent on market conditions management will endeavor to fill position within 8 weeks.
