Leave for Union. Any employee who is elected or selected for a full-time position with the Union shall be granted leave of absence without pay and loss of seniority for a period up to one
(1) year subject to the approval of the Corporation and the Union. Fringe benefits shall not be payable to the employee during such leave of absence.
Leave for Union. Business (ShortTerm) Upon written request from the Union President, any employee elected or appointed as a Union Official may be granted a leave of absence without pay for a period not to exceed thirty (30) calendar days, to attend Union Conventions or Educational Programmes. This may be extended by mutual agreement between the Company and employee's record for continuous service. Such employee will not be eligible for vacation allowance during the period of his absence. An employee who is granted a temporary leave of absence for Union business will continue to be covered for a maximum of thirty (30)calendar days by all features of the Employee Benefit Programmes, during such leave, under this Section (17.03). Normally no more than two (2) employees may be granted a leave of absence under this section at any one time. However, under special circumstances the Company will consider a request for for more than two (2) employees at one time. for Union (LongTerm) Any employee elected or appointed to a full time position in the jurisdiction of the United Steelworkers of America, or at the request of the United Steelworkers of America, such employee upon written request from the District Director of The International Union may be granted a leave of absence without pay not to exceed two (2) years. Such leave of absence shall not constitute any break in the employee's record for continuous service. Such employee will not be eligible for employee benefits during the period of his absence, under this Section No more than one employee may be granted a leave of absence under this section at any one time. An employee granted of absence under this Article will be considered as having resigned if he does not return to work at the end of the leave or if he has taken a job somewhere else or become self-employed during the leave of absence unless he has the approval of the Company.
Leave for Union. Upon a request by the Union, the Employer will grant a leave of absence without pay for not more than:
Leave for Union. A Homemaker who has been elected, selected or appointed to hold a full-time paid shall be entitled to a leave of absence without pay for the period during which she holds such up to a of three years. The Homemaker may request, in writing, thirty days prior to the conclusion of such leave, that she be allowed to to work as a Homemaker. The Society agrees to a Homemaker to work where the Homemaker concludes a leave as provided for in this article and requests the right to return. Bereavement Lea An employee, who has successfully completed the probationary period, who regularly works hours per week or more, and who notifies Society as as possible following a death in employee's 'immediate or 'extended family', shall be granted up to two consecutive days off without pay in the case of a death in the 'immediate family' or one (1 day off in the case of a death in the 'extended family' from the date of death up to and including the date of the funeral in order that the employee make the arrangements for attend the funeral. 'Immediate family' means current spouse, parent, brother, sister, son or daughter. 'Extended family' means current son-in-law, current daughter-in-law, current brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grand parent or grandchild. ARTICLE INJURY AND
Leave for Union. At the request of the Local, the Board shall grant paid release time to the Local President or designate in order to conduct Union business. The named shall be treated for all purposes, including not limited to the payment of salary, benefits, pension and the accumulation of seniority, sick leave and teaching experience as employed by the board as a long-tern Occasional Teacher. The Union will reimburse the Board for costs incurred under clauses and The Board shall pay up to four (4) Occasional Teachers involved in negotiations for scheduled meetings with the Board which occur between the hours of am and as follows:

Leave for Union. Subject to reimbursement the Union to the Employer for the of pay and benefits, and upon request to the Employer, an employee elected or to represent the Union at conventions, seminars, or conferences, to part training programs, shall be allowed leave of absence pay and without loss of benefits. Seniority shall continue to accrue during such leave. Leave for Union. Any employee who is elected or selected for a full-time position with the Union or any body with which the Union is affiliated, or who is elected to public office shall be granted leave of absence without pay by the Employer for a period of one (1) year. Such leave shall be renewed each year during their term of office. Seniority shall continue to accrue during such leave. On return to work an employee shall be placed in their former position if possible or a similar position. The Employer shall grant leave without pay to the President, Vice-presidents or Secretary-Treasurer of Local and Sub-Locals to carry out necessary Union business providing adequate replacements are available. A regular employee shall be granted a maximum of five if necessary, regularly scheduled consecutive work days leave without loss of salary or wages in the case of the death of a parent, spouse (including common law), sister, brother, child, grandchild, grandparent, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister- in-law, son-in-law and daughter-in-law. Reasonable leave of absence shall be granted for travel and estate affairs without pay.
Leave for Union. Upon the request by the Union, the Company will release without loss of pay or other earned benefits, up to three (3) employees named by the Union to attend grievance meetings and four (4) employees for negotiation meetings. Not more than one (1) employee from each job function is to be released unless mutually agreed. Leave without pay will be granted to any employee duly authorized to represent employees in order to: Attend Executive Council meetings, Labour Conventions, Congresses, etc. A request for such leave shall be submitted at least fifteen (15) days in advance, and such leave shall not be in excess of seven (7) days, plus travelling time if necessary. Accept a full-time elective position with the Union for a period not exceeding four (4) years, or a full-time appointive position with the Union for a period not exceeding one (1) year. Any additional yearly periods may be granted by the Company on receipt of a written request of the employee and the President of the Union. It is agreed that not more than three (3) employees shall be released at any one time in accordance with and not more than one employee at any one time shall be released in accordance with Article Not more than one employee from each job function is to be released unless mutually agreed. Leave provided for in Article shall not constitute a break in continuity of service in the computation of seniority and with respect to Article shall not constitute a break in continuity of service in the computation of seniority, severance pay, or other benefits under this Agreement.
