LEAVES AND BENEFITSPermanent full-time employees receive full benefits. Permanent part-time employees receive benefits on a prorated basis. Employees working less than fifteen (15) hours per week and temporary employees do not receive fringe benefits. Employees will accrue sick leave at the rate of 1 1/3 days for each full monthly pay period with unlimited accrual from year to year. The District reserves the right to require a doctor’s and/or health aide’s certificate of medical disability for sick leave usage. An employee shall notify his/her supervisor as far in advance as possible of the scheduled workday that the employee is going to utilize sick leave. An employee utilizing sick leave shall be paid for such time lost, to the extent that he/she has sick leave accrued, at his/her current salary, less the amount of any time lost payments made to him/her under the Alaska Workers’ Compensation Act. There shall be no accrual of sick leave when an employee is on leave without pay status. Employees are not entitled to monetary reimbursement for accumulated sick leave. Sick leave may be used when the employee is required to be absent from work due to illness, injury, or other temporary disability (including maternity-related disability) and for necessary medical, dental, audio, vision, and psychiatric examinations that cannot be scheduled outside of regular working hours. Necessary travel time to and from the nearest appropriate medical treatment relative to the above shall be chargeable to sick leave. Elective medical treatment that can be scheduled during vacations or when school is out for the summer without substantial detriment to the employee, shall not be eligible for sick leave. The employee shall be entitled to use up to seven (7) days, plus necessary travel time, of sick leave per year for:
LEAVES AND BENEFITS. Annual Leave: Applies to 12-month employees only. A. All permanent 12-month employees shall accrue annual leave at the following rates, and all permanent 12–month employees working less than eight (8) hours, but for four (4) or more hours shall accrue annual leave at the following rates on a pro rata basis: Zero through 2 years 16 working days per year Over 2 years but less than 5 years 22 working days per year Over 5 years 25 working days per year B. Employees remaining in the same job classification receiving a change in status of a permanent full-time employee who works less than twelve (12) months to a 12-month position will have the employee’s length of service determined by each year of less than twelve (12) month employment being equal to one (1) year of employment. Should a 9 or 10-month position employee transfer to a 12-month position, the person must have completed at least one half (½) of their work year for that year to count towards 12-month service. C. Annual leave will not begin to accrue until an employee has completed the employee’s probationary period. Thereafter, the employee will accrue annual leave retroactive to the day of employment. Annual leave will not accrue while an employee is on leave without pay. D. Annual leave may be accrued to a total of forty-three (43) days. One-half (½) of the annual leave accrued must be used by June 30 of each current year. E. An employee must have been employed for a total of six (6) months before becoming eligible to apply for annual leave benefits. F. Prior approval is required before annual leave days are taken. G. Annual leave has cash value upon termination or resignation based on employee's regular rate of pay. Upon death of the employee, one hundred percent (100%) of the employee’s unused annual leave shall be paid to the employee’s estate based on the employee’s regular rate of pay. This provision is not applicable when terminated for just cause. H. Permanent part-time employees are not eligible for annual leave. I. Annual leave may be used in a minimum of one (1) hour increments.
LEAVES AND BENEFITS. Subject to the applicable laws, the Employee shall be eligible for certain leaves such as casual leaves, sick leaves etc. The terms and conditions for such leaves is governed by the HR Manual of the Company and the Company reserves the right to modify the terms of such HR Manual without any consent of the Employee.
LEAVES AND BENEFITSExcept as specifically provided herein, all leaves and other benefits, including insurance, for employees shall be in accordance with policies as implemented and interpreted by the Superintendent and Board and as modified from time to time at their discretion.

LEAVES AND BENEFITS. The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act) requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. These provisions will apply from April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020. (*SEE ATTACHMENT) Unit members who do not have equipment (e.g. laptop) that can be used for Distance Learning or contacting parents and students shall submit a help desk ticket. If unit members choose to work remotely, they may take home instructional technology like document cameras, iPad, etc.

LEAVES AND BENEFITS. (a) Sick Leave Employees granted leaves of absence in excess of five (5) days in a calendar month shall not accrue non-occupational sick leave for that month. (b) Vacation Employees who are on unpaid leave status for more than five (5) days in a calendar month shall have their current vacation bank (if any) or their next year's vacation allotment reduced by on-twelfth of the annual allotment. Partial vacation days shall be rounded up to the closest whole number. (c) Longevity Employees who are on unpaid leave of absence for more than ten (10) days in a calendar year shall have their longevity eligibility dates adjusted by the number of calendar days spent on unpaid leave of absence. (d) Step Raises Employees who are on unpaid leave of absence for more than ten (10) days in a calendar year shall have their next step dates (if applicable) adjusted by the number of calendar days spent on unpaid leave.
