MEAL PERIODS AND BREAKS. 7.05.01 The following meal periods and breaks will be paid by the Company and granted as follows: Recall Overtime Meal Period Breaks - From 2 hours to 3 hours and 59 minutes n/a 1 x 15 minutes Minimum 4 hours 4 to 6 hours n/a 2 x 15 minutes (or 1 – 30 minutes combined) Greater than 6 hours Greater than 6 hours 1 x 30 minutes 2 x 15 minutes
MEAL PERIODS AND BREAKS. (a) Employees are eligible for a 30 minute meal period for each period of work greater than 5 consecutive hours. However, the time and duration of the meal period shall be the employee’s decision, providing that departmental requirements are met. In departments where complex scheduling is required, the department head or designate will make up the schedule after the employees have submitted their preferences, which will be met where reasonably possible. It is further understood that this is an unpaid meal period and the University shall recognize the employee’s right to enjoy this period without interruption. In the event that the employer finds it impossible to provide a meal break, employees shall be paid in lieu 30 minutes at the overtime rate.
(b) Relief Periods - Employees shall be entitled to two paid relief periods of 15 minutes each, one normally to be taken during the first half of any shift, and the other normally to be taken during the second half of any shift. In the event an employee is unable to take their relief period due to operational requirements, the unused paid relief time shall be added to the total hours worked for pay purposes. Overtime rates shall be applicable for the portion of the shift that exceeds 8 hours only. The appending of this time to the end of a shift will not cause a meal penalty.
(c) Third and subsequent meal periods on a shift shall be paid at the applicable overtime rate.
(d) Where a meal period occurs near the end of a shift an employee may request to work through the end of a shift and leave work. In cases where the meal break is a paid break then the paid break shall be added at the end of the shift. Approval of such requests shall not result in a meal penalty.
(e) An employee’s relief period may be combined with a meal period or another relief period by mutual agreement between the employee and the manager. Such combination is not to be used to shorten an employee’s regular work day.

Section 2. On each shift, staffing permitting, the Employer shall provide for an uninterrupted thirty (30) minute paid break away from operational positions for meals. To the extent practicable, meal periods will occur at or around the mid point of an employee’s shift.
Section 3. On each shift, staffing permitting, the Employer will provide employees relief breaks during the first and second part of an employee’s shift. To the extent practicable, employees will not be required to work more than two consecutive hours on position without a break. Such relief breaks shall be in addition to the meal breaks described in this Article.

MEAL PERIODS AND BREAKS.
A. Employees working a regularly scheduled shift of at least seven and one-half (7½) hours are entitled to
1. one (1) unpaid meal period of between thirty (30) minutes and one- (1) hour, and
2. two (2) fifteen (15)-minute paid break periods per full shift.
B. Part-time employees are entitled to one (1) fifteen (15)-minute break for four (4) hours worked.
C. Full-time Residence Halls Desk Clerks and Lobby Attendants, and some Library Entry/Exit Control staff, are not granted formal relief for meals and breaks pursuant to §18.8.A., above. The University agrees to pay such employees seventy-five cents ($0.95) per hour in addition to their regular straight-time hourly rates for hours worked on such shifts.

MEAL PERIODS AND BREAKS. A. Employees working in excess of five (5) clock hours per day shall be entitled to a thirty (30) minute unpaid meal period, scheduled by the immediate supervisor. Such meal period shall be scheduled at approximately the midpoint of the employee's shift whenever possible. Employees working the night shift and Cafeteria Head Cooks shall be entitled to a paid meal period. Cafeteria Assistant Cooks who work through their lunch period shall be paid at their regular rate for the lunch period worked.
B. Each employee shall be entitled to a fifteen (15) minute break, to be scheduled by the immediate supervisor, during every four (4) hours worked.
MEAL PERIODS AND BREAKS. Any employee scheduled to work more than a four (4) hour but less than six (6) hour shift is entitled to a fifteen (15) minute paid break subject to operational requirements.

Any employee scheduled to work greater than a six (6) hour but less than a seven and one-half shift will be entitled to a thirty (30) minute unpaid meal period and one (If)ifteen minute paid break. Any employee scheduled to work greater than a seven and one-half (7.5) hour shift will be entitled to a thirty (30) minute unpaid meal period and two (2) fifteen (15) minute paid breaks. Any employee having completed their regularly scheduled shift and who is working authorized overtime will be entitled to a fifteen (15) minute paid break period after four (4) authorized overtime hours worked. The minimum scheduled shift shall consist of three (3) hours of work.
MEAL PERIODS AND BREAKS. The workday shall consist of an eight-hour period including a half-hour unpaid lunch period and two fifteen (15) minute break periods. Meal periods may not be abbreviated or eliminated to compensate for late arrival or early departure. Associates scheduled on a 12-hour shift are entitled to received on thirty-minute meal break unpaid and three fifteen-minutes breaks for the day. Part time associates who are regularly scheduled to work shifts greater than four hours but less than eight shall be entitled to one fifteen minute break for the day. Associates will not receive additional wages when paid rest periods are not taken. No rest period may be taken during the first two hours of any shift. If an employee works through his/her unpaid meal period, that 30 minute period will be counted as time worked assuming the employee has sufficiently notified the appropriate supervisor in advance that he/she will not have an opportunity to be relieved.
