Officer Responsibilities. The officer assigned to the District shall: a. Provide a program of law and education-related issues to the school community, including parents, on such topics as: tobacco, alcohol, and other drug related issues, and in addressing violence diffusion, violence prevention, anti-bullying, cyber-bullying, seatbelt education, texting and distracted driving, and other safety issues in the school community; b. Act as a communication liaison with law enforcement agencies; providing basic information concerning students on campuses served by the officer; c. Provide informational in-service training and be a general resource for the staff on issues related to alcohol and other drugs, violence prevention, gangs, safety and security; d. The officer will gather information regarding problems such as criminal activity, gang activity and student unrest, and attempt to identify particular individuals who may be a disruptive influence to the school and/or students; e. If/when a crime occurs, the officer will take the appropriate steps consistent with Missouri law enforcement police officer duties, and the Codes and policies of the City of Peculiar; f. The officer will present educational programs to students, parents and/or school staff on topics agreed upon by the Police Department and the District; g. The officer will refer students and/or their families to the appropriate agencies for assistance when a need is determined and communication with the School Principal has occurred before doing so; h. Unless exigent circumstances prevent it, the officer will attempt to advise the Police Department, Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services and the School Principal prior to taking law enforcement action, subject to the officer’s duties under the law; i. The officer shall not act as school disciplinarian, nor make recommendations regarding school discipline. The officer may be used for regularly assigned supervision duties such as lunchroom, hall monitoring, bus supervision or other monitoring duties. If there is an unusual/temporary problem in any other area of the District, the officer may be used to assist District employees until the problem is solved through agreement between the District and Peculiar Police Department. j. Officer Responsibilities. ‌ 2.3.1 All new officers will complete sex- or gender-based harassment prevention training within 30 (thirty) calendar days of their appointment. Thereafter, officers are required to complete sex- or gender-based harassment prevention training once every two (2) years. 2.3.2 A Department/Division may not promote a person who has not completed the sex- or gender- based harassment training as described above. 2.3.3 Officers are responsible for ensuring they do not engage in sex- or gender-based harassment or discrimination against any other officer, client, applicant for employment, or other individual(s) with whom they have contact within the performance of their duties. Illegal behavior that is sex- or gender-based harassment includes: 2.3.3.1 Making submission to unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature either explicitly or implicitly a term or condition of a person’s employment; or, 2.3.3.2 Making submission to or the rejection of such conduct described above by a person a basis of employment decisions affecting that or any other person; or, 2.3.3.3 Engaging in unwelcome harassing verbal or physical behavior that occurs because of the sex or gender expression of any individual(s) and has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’s work performance or creating an intimidating or offensive work environment where: 2.3.3.3.1 Harassing behavior is of a sexual nature; or, 2.3.3.3.2 Harassing behavior is not sexual in nature, but is related to the sex or gender of the alleged victim or others; or, 2.3.3.3.3 Harassing behavior is sex- or gender-neutral in content but occurs because of an individual’s sex or gender; or, 2.3.3.3.4 Any combination of the types of behaviors described above. 2.3.4 Officers are responsible for cooperating in the investigation of any complaint of alleged sex- or gender-based harassment or discrimination. Officers are additionally responsible for cooperating with the efforts of their Departments/Divisions to prevent and eliminate sex- or gender-based harassment and discrimination and for maintaining a working environment free from such unlawful conduct. The officers will gather and document in writing intelligence regarding potential problems such as criminal activity, gang activity and student unrest and identify particular individuals who may be a disruptive influence to the school and/or students. 6.5. When a crime occurs, on school property, the officer will take the appropriate steps consistent with a Police Officer's duties. 6.6. The officer will present educational programs to students and school staff on topics agreed to by both parties. 6.7. The officer will refer students and/or their families to the appropriate agencies when a need is determined. 6.8. The officer will not function as a Hall Monitor, Gym Monitor, Cafeteria Monitor, Classroom Monitor, or perform any duties associated with those functions and assigned to regular employees of the District. The parties agree that the officers should be visible in the school when not involved in other activities and that key periods of the day include for visibility include entry, dismissal, passing periods and lunch time. 6.9. Provided further that nothing required herein is intended to or will it constitute a relationship or duty for the assigned Police Officers or the Department beyond the general duties that exist for law enforcement officers within the State.

Officer Responsibilities. Policy Advisory Committee has asked that the Youth Advisory Board create and oversee a structure that provides a voice for youth and young adults (with and without lived experience) as part of the CoC Governing Board. This information shall be shared with other officers and investigators of the BCSO or other law enforcement agencies as needed. 4.5 When a crime occurs, the Officer shall take steps consistent with a Sheriff Deputy's duties. This includes assigning of a BCSO case number and proper documentation as required by BCSO Policy and Procedure. Should a case be submitted for prosecution, the Officer shall ensure that proper documentation is attached. 4.6 The Officer will present educational programs to students and school staff on topics agreed to by both parties. 4.7 The Officer will refer students and/or families to the appropriate agencies when a need is determined. 4.8 The Officer shall consult with the Interlocal attorney for interpretation of legal documents. The Officer shall not be assigned as a coach, other school personnel duties, hall monitor, gym monitor, cafeteria monitor, chaperone, night security, bus driver, truck driver, or perform duties associated with those functions assigned to regular employees of Interlocal. The SRO provides law enforcement duties only. The Officer shall not attend out of jurisdiction events or functions unless the Officer is off duty or uses vacation time after approval from his/her Sheriff Supervisor. The Officer has no jurisdictional powers beyond Xxxxxx County. The Officer is not a school employee. 4.9 The Officer's direct supervisor will be the Sheriff Supervisor for SRO/DARE. You acknowledge that the indicia reported by such Services may not necessarily be the result of fraudulent activity. You are responsible for performing its own evaluation of any results. NCR Voyix does not guarantee the detection of fraudulent transactions. 7.6 You are responsible for all data, information, materials and instructions (“Customer Instructions”) provided to NCR Voyix by you or on your behalf. NCR Voyix is entitled to rely upon Customer Instructions. In no event will NCR Voyix be liable with respect to any loss, liability, cost, damage, or expense arising out of a claim by you or any third party to the extent that claim arises as a result of NCR Voyix’s compliance with Customer Instructions.
