SECTION HOURS OF WORK. Subject to the exigencies of the Service, the normal work week for all members of the Service shall be forty (40) hours, comprised of five (5) days of eight (8) hours each, inclusive of lunch time and relief periods, as in accordance with the procedure now in effect. Days off shall, insofar as reasonable and practical, be consecutive.

Booked operators who voluntarily select additional work over and above their normal day’s work are required to continue such work for the remainder of the Booking or until satisfactory arrangements have been made with the Transportation Operations Division for such operator to be relieved of such work. Payments for standby time for spare operators, make-up time, pay-through time and allowances do not constitute work performed. They will not be included in the calculation of entitlement for overtime or days off unless specifically provided for elsewhere in this Agreement.

SECTION HOURS OF WORK. An employee who works thirty-seven (37) hours per week for thirteen (13) consecutive weeks shall qualify as a full-time employee, but such employee will be subject to Section of this Agreement. This provision shall not apply to Students or other employees hired for a specific project or group of assignments. The basic work week for full-time employees will be thirty-seven (37) hours per week as scheduled by management, but all shifts will be full hours or one-half hour periods. In a week in which one (1) statutory holiday occurs, the normal basic work week for full-timeemployees shall be twenty-nine (29) hours. In the event the Company observes two (2) statutory holidays in one week, full- time employees shall receive thirty-seven (37) hours pay for twenty-two (22) hours during that week.
