Sick Leave for Employees. Hired Prior To 1980 (formerly Appendix D, MOU 2009-2011; XXX August 6. 1982) An employee assigned to a classification represented by the Association and who was hired by the City prior to August 1, 1980, shall, upon completion of each anniversary year and a minimum of one thousand eight hundred (1,800) straight-time hours of work within the twelve (12) month period immediately preceding each anniversary year, accrue sick leave at the following rate: Years of Service Sick Leave
Sick Leave for Employees. Employees may use days in their sick leave bank for personal illness, bodily injuries, maternity, or exposure to contagious disease: (1) which requires the employee’s confinement; or (2) which renders the employee unable to perform assigned duties; or (3) where performance of assigned duties would jeopardize the employee’s health or recovery. In the event the Employer has reason to believe that an employee is abusing the sick leave privilege or may not be physically fit to return to work, the Employer may require a medical certificate or other appropriate verification for absences covered by this Section. Employees may use sick leave for personal medical and dental appointments which cannot be scheduled at times other than during scheduled work hours. To qualify for use of sick leave under this Section, employees must give the Employer three (3) days advance notice of appointments except when emergency conditions prevail.
Sick Leave for Employees. Full-time employees shall accrue sick leave as follows: Accrual Rate Non-24-hour shift employees 8 hours per month 24-hour shift employees 12 hours per month Advance of Sick Leave for New Employees. New employees will be advanced a sick leave allowance equal to that, which would be accrued in six (6) months at the accrual rate, and will begin their regular accrual at the end of six months' employment. An employee whose employment terminates for any reason during the first six (6) months must repay the Employer for sick leave used in excess of the accrual rate for the period of actual employment.
Sick Leave for Employees. A temporary employee shall not receive sick leave if the temporary employee refuses recall from layoff due to illness, but the temporary employee xxxx earn service for seniority purposes only for the time that he/she did not report for work because of illness. Xxxx leave may only be awarded to a temporary employee who commences work and subsequently qualifies for sick leave under this Article. The temporary employee who refused recall due to illness xxxx report to work in accordance with Article after his/her illness providing work is still available and providing the temporary employee gives the Employer reasonable notice. Temporary employees be eligible for sick leave benefits for shifts he/she would have been recalled to during periods of upon proof of admission and discharge. Medical Care Leave Employees may be allowed to take sick leave in order to engage in personal preventative medical and dental care. The employee shall be required to show proof of received such care. under this Clause shall be deducted in accordance with Article Leave of Absence Negotiation Pay Provision Representatives of the Union shah not suffer any of pay or accumulative benefits for total time spent in negotiations with the Employer.
Sick Leave for Employees. Effective the first of the month following the date that this Agreement is ratified by both the Union and the Hospital, the Hospital will total responsibility for providing and a short sick leave plan for full-time Employees at least equivalent to that described in the most current Hospitals of Ontario Disability Income
Sick Leave for Employees who do not work a normal work year will be pro-rated based on 1 1/4 day of sick leave for each month of employment.

  • Compensation for Employees Employees shall receive compensation at the biweekly or hourly rate for the range and step or flat rate assigned to the class in which they are employed.

  • Sick Leave Pay A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.

  • Holiday Pay for Employees Laid Off An employee who is laid off at the close of business the day before a holiday who has worked not less than five (5) previous consecutive work days shall be paid for the holiday.

  • Laid Off Employees A) Should vacancies occur following layoff, those employees on layoff will be recalled to these positions in order of seniority providing they have the capabilities and the qualifications to perform the duties of the vacant position. If no employee on layoff possesses the required capabilities and qualifications, the vacant position will be posted pursuant to Article 15.01.

  • Sick Leave Incentive Effective September 1, 1986, employees covered by this Agreement, hired on or after October 1, 1977, who are not entitled to disability leave under State Statute R.C.W. 41.26, shall be eligible for the following sick leave incentive program:

  • Eligibility for Sick Leave Subject to the provisions herein, employees and officers (hereinafter called "employees") who are absent from their duties because of illness or disability are eligible for sick leave.

  • Hour Employees When a death occurs to a spouse or child of a full-time employee who works a seven and one-half (7.5) hour day, the employee will be granted a leave of absence and will be paid seven and one-half (7.5) hours at her/his regular rate of pay for up to five (5) consecutive scheduled working days in the six (6) calendar day period beginning with the date of death. Time paid for while on bereavement leave will count as time worked for the purpose of computing overtime. A full-time nurse who works a seven and one-half (7.5) hour day shall be granted three (3) consecutive working days off without loss of regular pay for scheduled hours, in conjunction with the day of the funeral for other members of her or his immediate family, namely, parents, brother, sister, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent, grandparent of spouse or grandchild.

  • School Year Employees All hourly employees compensated under “Hourly Schedule A” and regularly employed for the hours in that position considered full time by the Employer for the school year.

  • Eligibility for Sick Leave with Pay Employees shall be eligible for sick leave with pay immediately upon accrual.
