Summer School Work. District will post summer school "temporary" assignments by May 1st of each school year, or 3 within five (5) days that they become known. 5 Employees interested in accepting such temporary assignments will apply on-line. In filling such 6 assignments, the District will consider the employee's normal work schedule, special program needs, 7 previous such experience, and seniority. Employees shall be compensated at their hourly rate on 8 Schedule A and shall not be subject to any other terms and conditions of this Agreement. 10 All custodial summer hires shall be trained by their supervisor or designee prior to performing summer 11 work.
Summer School Work. Non-twelve month regular unit members shall accrue one day of vacation and one day of sick leave prorated by FTE for completing summer session classification work if that work falls outside of their work year. While sick leave may be used during summer school, vacation time may not be used during summer school. All summer school work is recognized as temporary employment by the Association for non-twelve month employees working outside of their regular work year.
Summer School Work. All summer school work will be bid prior to the end of the last week of the school year. This preference, through seniority, will be a two (2) phase bid: The first phase will be for a predetermined route,; and The second phase will be for any available SAT run that commences at 6:00 p. m. or later.
Summer School Work. Summer school paraprofessional positions will be posted and any paraprofessional agreeing to work during summer school shall be compensated according to their current rate of pay according to the Paraprofessional pay scale in this Agreement. The filling of summer school paraprofessional positions will be based on seniority beginning with the most senior applicant and proceeding to the least senior applicant, with the further understanding that an applicant with documented performance problems during any of the immediately preceding three (3) xxxxxxx may be by-passed.
Summer School Work. At times, the District may elect to offer a summer school program in addition to the regular school year programs. Summer school programs may require additional bargaining unit work. Additional bargaining unit work created by the summer school program will be deemed temporary and paid at the appropriate range and column for the individual unit member selected to perform that work. When bargaining unit work is required by this program, the District will accord hiring preference to qualified (as determined by the District) regular unit members who are currently serving in the needed classification. If no qualified regular bargaining unit member expresses an interest in this additional work, the District may hire non-bargaining unit employees for this temporary work.
Summer School Work. A District employee who applies for and accepts summer school work will be compensated at a rate of pay according to the summer school position that was posted. The employee will not receive a higher rate because their regular classification was paid at a higher rate; that is, an Office Manager who accepts a Secretary summer school position will not be paid at the Office Manager rate.
Summer School Work. Summer School work is defined as any work while Summer School is in session in one of the district's Summer School programs.
1. Summer School Applications for Food Service employees will be posted by March 30th of each year. Applications must be submitted by April 15th of that year. The District and Teamsters will meet to review applications no later than May 15th. Per Contra Costa County guidelines each site must have an employee with a current Food Safety Certificate.
2. Summer School jobs will be bid by Seniority within each classification posted. Food Service Lead Workers will be grouped as one for Summer School bids. When positions are filled in all classifications any remaining applicants will be pooled together and will bid by District Seniority. Late applicants will bid last by District Seniority. The bidding process will be completed by May 15. Pay for Summer Work will be at the rate listed on the Summer School Application each year.
3. Should Food & Nutrition Warehouse Attendant Truck Drivers decline Summer School positions and/or the need arises for additional Drivers, the position(s) shall be offered first within the Teamsters 856 bargaining unit and such drivers shall be paid at the rate(s) listed on the Summer School Application each year.
4. Employees accepting Summer School Assignments will be expected to work the full duration of the Summer School assignment, however, Unpaid time off will be allowed with the pre-approval of an Area Supervisor. Any unapproved absences beyond two days may result in being dropped from the Summer School program. Employees will not be paid for any time off during Summer.
5. Applicants can only be denied for a "Needs to Improve" or "Unsatisfactory" evaluations within the past calendar year or a suspension without pay within the past calendar year.
6. Summer School applications will be processed through HR. The Union, Food Service and HR will work collaboratively to fill Summer School positions.
Summer School Work. Assignments of summer school work for bus aides will be made following the procedures outlined in Article VII.E. Bidding for summer school routes will follow the established bidding procedures outlined above. If a substitute bus aide is required during summer work, assignment will be made using the procedure outlined in Article VII.E. for assignment of extra work.
Summer School Work. All summer school teaching assistant position openings will be made available to current bargaining unit members before such openings are offered to persons outside the BOCES. The summer school program will run 31 days. Bargaining unit members working summer school will be entitled to the following benefits: • Bereavement – 2 days
Summer School Work. When there is need for work to be performed during time when school is not normally in session, the work shall be offered to unit members on the basis of qualifications for employment in each classification of service which is required. If multiple unit members in a classification desire such work, then the unit member who has greatest seniority shall be offered the work. If no unit member within the classification in which the work is required accepts the offer, the work may be given to other qualified unit members outside the classification. A unit member, shall for services performed receive, on a pro-rata basis, not less than the compensation and benefits applicable to that classification during the regular school year.
