TEACHER WORK SCHEDULE. A. WORK DAY: 1. The regular workday for teachers shall be eight (8) hours. Administration at each building shall determine the start and end time as well as the student start and end time subject to Board approval. School starting and ending times for the elementary and secondary students for each school year will be set on or before the May Board Meeting for the next year. The teacher shall be in his/her room or in the hall near his/her room 10 minutes before the beginning of student instruction. A teacher’s regular workday can be periodically reduced by building administrators as needed. 2. In the event school is scheduled to begin before the normal school day or end after the normal school day to make up school hours necessitated by conditions of severe weather, or construction, the teacher workday on such days shall begin ten (10) minutes before the amended student instruction day begins and shall end ten (10) minutes after the end of student instruction. Except that the principal may appoint staff members on a rotating basis to provide pupil supervision. 3. On Fridays or on days preceding holidays the teacher workday shall end 15 minutes after the student instruction day ends. 4. Teachers will be required to attend Parent-Teacher Conferences and School Open Houses, which may be scheduled outside the regular workday. The building principal may excuse attendance for these functions. 5. Teacher attendance shall not be required whenever student attendance is not required due to inclement weather. Teacher attendance for emergency closing other than inclement weather that will not place the teacher in peril shall be determined by the Superintendent. If a building’s master schedule change is being considered, the administrators will seek input from the teaching staff. When a schedule change is deemed necessary, a building representative committee will be established to determine appropriate changes. All recommendations must be made with adequate time to implement for the following school year.

TEACHER WORK SCHEDULE. 7.1 The Board of Education will allow for Association views regarding the School Calendar, however, the final adoption of the School Calendar will be done by the Board of Education. The employee work year shall be no more than 180 school days. 7.2 Except in the case of emergency beyond their control, teachers shall be required to report to work 15 minutes prior to the start of the normal student day and may leave after the completion of their professional responsibilities, but not earlier than 15 minutes after completion of the normal student day, unless prior Administrative approval is given. Professional responsibilities include staff meetings, parent-student conferences, open houses, extra-curricular and other paid assignments, staff committee meetings, emergencies, and other matters related to the work day. The normal student attendance day shall be defined as five (5) hours and forty (40) minutes, unless State mandates dictate otherwise. In that event, the district will be obligated to follow State mandates. 7.3 Each teacher shall receive a lunch period as required by Section 24-9 of The School Code. 7.4 Extra-curricular activities will be compensated according to a Supplemental Work Schedule attached as Appendix D. 7.5 To the extent feasible, each full-time teacher shall get one 30 minute or one student class period preparation time during the student attendance day. However, if the daily period is cancelled, the teacher will be responsible for his/her class and will be compensated in accordance with article 7.6 below. 7.6 In the event a teacher is requested to be an internal substitute, he/she shall be reimbursed twenty dollars ($20.00) per class. Forms shall be provided each teacher to request payment for internal substitution. Payment shall be made on the next regular pay check when feasible. Administration has the right to assign coverage for the safety of all students. 7.7 To the extent feasible, when a teacher is required to attend an after-school activity, he/she shall be given one week's notice 7.8 On early dismissal days, the 1st bell will ring at 1:45. Teachers may leave 5 minutes after the last student dismissal (except in emergency situations) on the following days; Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter/Spring Break, Open House, Fall Harvest, Valentine’s Day and Parent-Teacher Conferences.
TEACHER WORK SCHEDULE. 1. Prior to adoption or change in a school calendar, a committee of three teachers (one high school, one elementary and one junior high), the elementary principal, and superintendent shall develop a proposed calendar to be presented to the School Board. The school board will use the proposed calendar as a basis for developing the calendar for adoption. After the school board adopts or amends a calendar, each teacher will be given a copy. 2. The teacher workday shall begin at 7:45 A.M. and end at 3:15 P.M. In the event of early dismissal, teachers shall be dismissed after duties have been performed but not to exceed 15 minutes. 3. Each teacher shall have daily an uninterrupted, duty free lunch period equal to that of the students but not less than thirty (30) minutes. 4. All duties in addition to the above work schedule shall be voluntary, accompanied by a job description, and will be compensated according to the extra duty schedule which is attached to and a part of this agreement as Appendix A. 5. A teacher engaged during the school day in negotiating on behalf of the Association with any representative of the School Board or participating in any grievance negotiation, including arbitration, shall be released from regular duties without loss of salary if a teaching colleague(s) is provided for each negotiating teacher or if a substitute is provided for each negotiating teacher at the Association's expense. 6. One day per month shall be set aside for curriculum meetings, etc. not to exceed eight (8) meetings per school year. Meetings shall not last later than 4:30 P.M. Employees shall be notified in writing at least seven (7) days prior to each scheduled meeting except in case of emergency. 7. School will be dismissed at 1:45 the school day before all holidays of length two week days or greater. 8. Students will be dismissed at 1:45 on the last day of the first and third nine weeks grading periods. Teachers will be dismissed at 3:15.

  • Work Schedule (A) Where an employee has an established schedule, a change in workdays or shifts will be posted no less than 14 calendar days in advance and will reflect at least a two workweek schedule; however, the state will make a good faith effort to reflect a one month schedule. (B) In the event of a declared emergency the notice requirement of this Section may be void. (C) The state will continue to observe the scheduling structures currently in place at each agency and agrees to bargain any change in the overall practice of how schedules are established.

  • Alternative Work Schedule An alternate forty (40) hour work schedule (other than five (5) uniform and consecutive eight (8) hour days in a seven (7) day period), or for hospital personnel an eighty (80) hour workweek in a fourteen (14) day period and other mutually agreed upon schedules that comply with applicable federal and state law. Employee work schedules normally include two (2) consecutive days off.

  • Flexible Work Schedule A flexible work schedule is any schedule that is not a regular, alternate, 9/80, or 4/10 work schedule and where the employee is not scheduled to work more than 40 hours in the "workweek" as defined in Subsections F. and H., below.

  • Alternate Work Schedule An alternate work schedule is any work schedule where an employee is regularly scheduled to work five (5) days per week, but the employee’s regularly scheduled two (2) days off are NOT Saturday and Sunday.

  • Work Schedules Workweeks and work shifts of different numbers of hours may be established by the Employer in order to meet business and customer service needs, as long as the work schedules meet federal and state laws.

  • Regular Work Schedules The regular work schedule for overtime-eligible employees will not be more than forty (40) hours in a workweek, with two (2) consecutive calendar days off and starting and ending times as determined by the requirements of the position and the Employer. The Employer may adjust the regular work schedule with prior notice to the employee.

  • Notice of Work Schedules ‌ (a) Work schedules for regular employees shall be posted at least 14 days in advance of the starting day of a new schedule. (b) In the event that the work schedule or shift for a regular employee or an auxiliary employee working a scheduled shift roster is changed without 48 hours' advance notice and such change is the result of the actions of another employee covered by this agreement utilizing the benefits provided for by the provisions of this agreement, the employee will receive a premium of 85¢ per hour in addition to their regular pay, for work performed on the first shift to which they changed. (c) In the event that an employee's work schedule or shift is changed without five days advance notice and the change results from causes other than defined in (b) above, the employee shall receive a premium at the applicable overtime rate for work performed on the first shift to which they changed, except that if the change results from no fault of the Employer they shall not receive a premium at overtime rates but shall receive the premium defined under (b) above.

  • Alternative Work Schedules Employees may request alternative work schedules such as a nine (9) day - 80 hour two week schedule or a four (4) day - 40 hour week schedule. Management will respond to an employee's request within 15 calendar days. Any changes from existing work schedules will be based on the needs of the service as determined by Management. Employees covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act will not be placed on alternate work schedules that mandate the payment of overtime under the Act.

  • Work Scheduling Except at the request of an affected employee, no employee shall have the number of hours they are normally scheduled to work reduced as the result of the use of non-permanent employees such as, but not limited to: seasonal, intermittent, student interns, interns, interim, established term, or temporary employees, due to the performance of such employee’s duties by the nonpermanent employee.

  • SCHEDULE OF WORK FIRST PARTY’S proposed schedule for the various services required will be set forth in Exhibit A-1. In addition to services described in Section A1, the parties may from time to time agree in writing that FIRST PARTY, for additional compensation, shall perform additional services including but not limited to: • Change in the services because of changes in scope of the work. • Additional tasks not specified herein as required by the CITY. The CITY and FIRST PARTY shall agree in writing to any changes in compensation and/or changes in FIRST PARTY’s services before the commencement of any work. The CITY shall make a determination as to whether such work is in fact beyond the scope of this agreement and constitutes extra work. In the event that the CITY determines that such work does constitute extra work, it shall provide compensation to the FIRST PARTY in accordance with an agreed cost that is fair and equitable. This cost will be mutually agreed upon by the CITY and FIRST PARTY. A supplemental agreement providing for such compensation for extra work shall be negotiated between the CITY and the FIRST PARTY.
