Voluntary Dues Deduction. During the term of this Agreement for those employees who have voluntarily executed payroll deduction authorization cards which are delivered to the Human Resources Department, Employer will deduct from their pay the monthly Union dues and initiation fees as designated by the Union and shall promptly remit any and all amounts deducted. The Union agrees to indemnify and save Employer harmless against any and all claims, suits, expenses, and other forms of liability that may arise out of or by reason of action taken in reliance upon such individual authorization cards or by reason of the Employer’s compliance with the provisions of this Article. Employees shall have the right to voluntarily withdraw the payroll deduction authorization at any time by providing notice of said withdrawal to Employer and the Union in writing.

Voluntary Dues Deduction. The Board agrees to deduct from the salaries of the members of the bargaining unit dues for membership in the Plainfield Education Association, the New Hampshire Education Association, and the National Education Association as said members of the bargaining unit individually and voluntarily authorize the Board to deduct and to transmit the monies promptly to the Plainfield Education Association. Members of the bargaining unit who elect to have dues deducted for the above named Associations may authorize these deductions by filing the appropriate form on or before October 15th of any school year.

SECTION C: UNION dues will not include such things as initiation fees, special assessments, back dues, fines or other similar items. SECTION D: A full payroll deduction will be made for each pay period. When a BU employee is in a pay status for only part of the pay period, the order of deductions will be as set forth in applicable laws, regulations and rules. Should the amount of salary be insufficient to cover the withholding, the BU employee will be treated as if in a non-pay status. SECTION E: The EMPLOYER will remit to the UNION all UNION dues withheld on a biweekly basis. The EMPLOYER will also provide a biweekly report itemizing UNION dues withheld. SECTION F: A change in the amount of a deduction for payment of dues will not normally be made more frequently than once each twelve (12) months. The UNION will notify the appropriate financial office of such change. The change must be in the appropriate financial office at least fifteen (15) working days in advance of the effective date. Voluntary Dues Deduction. The Board agrees to deduct from the salaries of its teachers dues for membership in the Bethlehem Education Association and the National Education Association/New Hampshire. Teachers who elect to have dues deducted may authorize these deductions through the President of the Bethlehem Education Association, who will forward a list of the teachers and the correct amount to be deducted from each teacher's salary to the School Administrative Unit Office prior to November 1 of each school year.
