ADMINISTRATOR’S WORK YEAR. A. Work Year
ADMINISTRATOR’S WORK YEAR. It is agreed that the Administrators’ work year shall be a twelve (12) month responsibility for the proper fulfillment of the duties prescribed for these positions. The work year shall encompass the approved school calendar and will provide for a month’s vacation period in the summer. If the Administrator is unable to take a month’s vacation during the summer, due to job-related responsibilities, the Administrator, with the approval of the Superintendent of Schools, may carry over a maximum of one (1) month’s leave and be reimbursed upon leaving the District. Vacation time may be made available following initial employment with the understanding that if the Administrator were to leave the District, it would be prorated and the Administrator would be required to reimburse the District for any difference based upon the Administrator’s per diem rate. Effective July 1, 2012, the reference to “one (1) month’s leave”, as set forth above, shall be defined as twenty-two (22) days. Effective July 1, 2012, the calculation to derive the per diem salary rate for Administrators shall be based upon a work year of 260 days (1/260th).

ADMINISTRATOR’S WORK YEAR. The administrator’s work year shall be congruent with the school calendar when school is in session. Additional paid holidays will include Independence Day and Labor Day holidays. Each administrator will be granted twenty (20) vacation days annually beyond the school calendar. These days may be taken during the summer or the school year with approval of the Superintendent with due consideration to the needs of the school district. An administrator may carry over 10 unused vacation days from any year to the next year. Whenever an administrator retires, the maximum number of vacation days accrued will be 30.

If the calendar designates less than 17 holidays, the remaining number of holidays shall be considered "floating holidays." Floating holidays may be scheduled during the Christmas or Spring Recess, or at another time with prior approval of the Superintendent. While Administrators and Principals are generally expected to be at work while school is in session, vacation may be granted during this time under special circumstances. No vacation time may be taken during the last ten (10) working days prior to the first day that teachers are required to report, so that Administrators will be available to attend mandatory in-district professional development sessions, which shall count toward fulfillment of the professional development requirement in Article 19 E.   • Joint Benefits Committee In order to achieve benefit cost reductions, or at a minimum, cost containment, the parties agree to establish and aggressively participate in a Joint Benefits Committee. The parties agree that the Joint Benefits Committee shall explore all potential options or changes that could generate cost reductions to the Benefit Plans with the following order of priorities:
