GUILD MEMBERSHIP. To the extent that it may be lawful for the Company to require the Writer to do so, Writer agrees to become and/or remain a member of Writers Guild of America in good standing as required by the provisions of said Basic Agreement. If Writer fails or refuses to become or remain a member of said Guild in good standing, as required in the preceding sentence, the Company shall have the right at any time thereafter to terminate this agreement with the Writer.

GUILD MEMBERSHIP. 3.1 All employees who, on the date of the signing of this Agreement, are members of the Guild in good standing in accordance with its constitution and bylaws, or who may later join the Guild, and all new employees shall, as a condition of their employment maintain their membership in the Guild in good standing. An employee dismissed under this Article shall not receive severance pay. 3.2 The Guild will admit to membership any employee, subject to the constitution of CWA/SCA Canada and the bylaws of the Guild. 3.3 Employees entering the service of the Company or transferred into the bargaining unit after the date of the signing of this Agreement shall become members of the Guild within 30 days of the date of their employment or transfer.
GUILD MEMBERSHIP. 1. Any employee who is a member of the Guild on the date of execution of this contract, and any employee who becomes a member of the Guild on or after the date of execution of this contract, will as a condition of employment maintain his/her membership in good standing in the Guild. 2. Any employee hired after the date of execution of this contract will become a member of the Guild within 30 days after their employment, and will be required to maintain their membership in the Guild in good standing as a condition of employment. 3. Membership in the Guild will be available to any employee on the same terms and conditions applicable to other members. 4. In the event of discharge by The News of any employee by reason of the requirements of this article, The News will be relieved of all obligations to such employee under the contract as they relate to severance pay and vacation pay. 5. The News will furnish to the Guild the following information on new employees within one week of starting or transfer and monthly of any subsequent changes: A. Name and address (if available at time of starting). B. Date of starting. C. Classification. D. Experience rating and experience anniversary date. E. Wages, including the amounts and, upon request, computation of any compensation. F. Social Security number. G. Sex. H. Minority status. I. Handicap, if any, if known. J. Date of birth. 6. The Guild will have the right, on request, to know which employees in the Guild bargaining unit then currently have a News provided personal computer or the access code to The News’ computer system and the purpose for such to the extent actually known by The News. The News also will inform the Guild of any request for an employee to work at home as part of an ongoing arrangement, or as a temporary accommodation. 7. Employees will be given copies of information placed in their personnel files. Employees will be allowed to respond to such file information and may choose to make the response part of the file. Upon sufficient notice, employees may review their personnel files in accordance with procedures established by The News. 8. When The News is required by this contract to provide notice to the Guild, such notice will be conveyed in writing to the department vice chairperson and the Guild office.
GUILD MEMBERSHIP. 3.1 As a condition of employment, employees covered by this Agreement shall, within thirty one (31) days following their first date of employment, become and remain members of the Guild and pay the membership dues specified by the Constitution of Council 2. 3.2 Notwithstanding the aforementioned section and pursuant to state law, the foregoing provisions shall not apply to employees who are bona fide members of a church or religious body whose religious tenets or teachings prohibit membership in employee Guilds. However, every such employee shall pay an amount of money equivalent to regular Guild dues and initiation fee to a non-religious charitable organization mutually agreed upon by the employee affected and the Guild. The employee shall furnish written proof that such payment has been made. If the employee and the Guild do not reach agreement on such matters, the charitable organization shall be designated in accordance with State law. 3.3 The Guild will notify the employer in writing of its initiation fees and dues. Upon being furnished individual authorization cards for payroll deduction signed by each employee the City shall deduct the amount indicated on the authorization card. The City shall deliver this sum monthly to the Guild by the 10th of the following month. If an employee has no compensation earned for the month, or insufficient compensation to cover the dues or fair share payment in lieu of dues, no deduction shall be made from the employee's pay for that month. 3.4 The Guild agrees to refrain from making changes in the schedule of dues or fees other than in the month of January. In the event the Guild acts to increase the amount of the payroll deduction for Guild dues, initiation fees or special assessments, the Guild shall notify the City in writing of the amount and desired effective date. The City shall, in turn, request a signature acknowledgment of the notice of the increase from each employee whose position is covered. The Employer is authorized to charge the Guild a fee of $100.00 in the event the Guild changes fees or assessments more than one time per calendar year. The Guild shall remit the appropriate amount to the Employer by the 15th day of the effective date of the change. 3.5 The Guild agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold the Employer harmless against any and all claims, demands, suits, or other form of liability that may arise out of or by reason of any action taken or not taken by the Employer under the provisions of thi...
GUILD MEMBERSHIP. Employees, at any time, have the right to become members of the Guild. There shall be no interference or attempt to interfere with the operation of the Guild.
GUILD MEMBERSHIP. ‌ 2.1 The City shall notify the Guild in writing within twenty (20) calendar days of the hiring of a new employee. The notification shall provide the Guild with the name, home address, home phone number, Social Security number, starting pay step, and classification of the new employee. The City shall provide the Guild up to 30 minutes to speak with new employees within their first 90 days of employment. The employee has the choice to attend or not attend the meeting with the Guild. 2.2 Upon the voluntary written authorization of an employee to the Guild, the City shall deduct from the wages of each employee the uniform dues, initiation fees and assessments required for membership in the Guild, as provided to the City in writing, by the Guild from time to time. If the City receives a request for authorization of deductions, the City shall as soon as practicable forward the request to the Guild. The City shall transmit each month said moneys to the Guild, along with the names of each employee whose dues are transmitted. 2.3 An employee may stop paying Guild dues by submitting a written request to the Guild in accordance with the terms and conditions on the authorization. After the City receives confirmation from the Guild that an employee has revoked authorization, the City shall end the deduction no later than the second payroll after receipt of the confirmation. 2.4 The Guild shall hold the City harmless for any claims filed by an employee for reasons arising out of dues deductions. GUILD MEMBERSHIP. 3.1 The provisions of this labor agreement, apart from the union security obligations, shall not apply to employees until they have completed the Washington State Law Enforcement Training Academy. Thereafter, the provisions of this labor agreement shall apply. Employees shall become and remain members in good standing in the Guild or pay a monthly service fee not to exceed the monthly Guild dues in effect to the Guild, unless otherwise provided by law. After successful completion of the Law Enforcement Training Academy, a new employee shall work under the provisions of this Agreement, but shall be subject to the normal probation period during which time the employee is an at will employee and has no liberty or property interest in his/her position and may be discharged at the Employer’s will. In the event a new employee is retained after the probation period, the date of the employee’s hire for seniority purposes, shall be considered the anniversary date of employment and the employee shall be entitled to the benefit of all provisions of this Agreement. 3.2 In the event an employee fails to meet the requirements set forth in Section 3.1, the Guild may give the Employer a reminder of this fact, with a copy to the employee. The employee shall comply within fourteen (14) calendar days of receipt of such reminder.
GUILD MEMBERSHIP. During the entire term of this agreement, the Employee shall become and remain a member in good standing of the properly designated labor organization or organizations (as defined and determined under applicable law) representing persons performing services of the type and character that the Employee is required to perform hereunder.
GUILD MEMBERSHIP. The Employer and the Union agree that membership is voluntary and the Union encourages all employees covered hereunder to become and remain members in good standing of the Union.
