LAYOFF, BUMPING AND RECALL. (a) In all cases of layoff or recall, bargaining unit wide seniority shall be the governing factor provided the Employees retained or recalled can perform the work required in a satisfactory manner. Any Employee who would be laid off under these circumstances shall have the following three options:
(i) accept the layoff and be placed on the recall list
(ii) within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of their notice of layoff, an Employee may exercise their rights to replace another Employee (“bump”) with lesser seniority that occupies any classification equivalent to, or lesser than the classification they then occupy provided they are qualified to do the work required. At the layoff meeting, the Employee will be provided with a seniority list identifying positions they are eligible to bump into. It is understood that these bumping rights apply to positions identified by the Employee during their notice period.
(iii) As an alternative to bumping, an Employee may choose to accept placement in a vacant position of equal or lower classification prior to the vacant position being posted for the consideration of other Employees. Notice of vacancies will be provided as per 13.7 (e).
(b) In the event of a lay-off, members of the Executive Board, Grievance Committee Representatives and Location Stewards shall be the last to be laid off, regardless of where they may be employed. The union shall keep the Employer informed of the names of the members of the Board, Grievance Committee Representatives and Location Stewards and in the event of any dispute, the latest list of names as received by the Employer shall govern.
(c) No new Employee will be hired until those laid off (who have sufficient ability to perform the work required) have been given the opportunity of rehire.
(d) At no time shall an Employee receive less than thirty (30) calendar days’ notice of lay off. The Employer agrees to provide as much additional notice as possible to any Employee who may be subject to potential layoff because their position has been declared redundant so that the Employee may exercise his/her bumping rights. In no event will the placement of that employee be made effective prior to the date of lay off.
(e) The Employer will notify all laid off post-probationary Employees of any position vacancies. The Employee will have no less than four
LAYOFF, BUMPING AND RECALL. 35.01 (a) Subject to Clause 34.01, when initiating layoffs, recalls, and bumping, there shall be three (3) distinct employee groups as follows:
1. permanent employees
2. seasonal employees
3. temporary employees

A) General Both parties recognize that job security shall increase in proportion to length of service. Therefore, in the event of a layoff, reduction of hours, bumping and recall, the governing principle shall be seniority, except as otherwise provided. Temporary employees not on the seniority list shall not be entitled to bumping and recall rights.
LAYOFF, BUMPING AND RECALL. 24:01 (a) Role of Seniority in Layoffs Both parties recognize that job security shall increase in proportion to the length of service. Therefore, in the event of a layoff, employees shall be laid off by classification in reverse order of seniority. An employee shall have the right to displace a junior employee, with the exception of an employee occupying a supervisory position, provided that the employee being retained is qualified and able to meet the requirements in accordance with the provisions of Article 23.
LAYOFF, BUMPING AND RECALL. (A) Definition of Layoff Except as described in 11(F) a layoff shall be defined as:
1. a reduction in the number of Category 1 regular employees,
2. a reduction in the regular hours of work of regular employees as defined in this Agreement, or
3. a result of school term closures or seasonal layoffs as per (B)4 of this Article.
(B) Intent to Layoff, Bumping, Layoff/Severance and Recall Procedure Both parties recognize that job security should increase in proportion to length of service. Therefore, in the event of a layoff under Article 11(A) 1 or 2, Category 1 regular employees shall be laid off by classification in the reverse order of their seniority. The Board shall give intent to layoff letters only to those employees having positions eliminated.

LAYOFF, BUMPING AND RECALL. 16:01 Both parties recognize that job security should increase in proportion to length of corporate service. Therefore, in the event of a layoff, permanent Corporation employees shall be laid off in the reverse order of their bargaining unit wide seniority.
16:02 If a reduction of permanent employees is necessary, the Corporation shall meet with and advise the Union of the proposed reduction and the jobs affected as soon as possible.
LAYOFF, BUMPING AND RECALL. Bumping Period An employee who chooses to bump another employee within his/her department in accordance with this procedure, must exercise that right either before the date he/she would otherwise by laid off (excluding cases where payment in lieu of notice is given, in which case the prescribed period will apply) or within 14 calendar days of the occurrence of a recall within his/her headquarters area.
LAYOFF, BUMPING AND RECALL. If the Employer determines that the number of employees is in excess of its current requirements or budget, it shall have the right to reduce the number of positions or hours scheduled for a position. In the event such elimination of position creates a reduction in the work force or a reduction of hours equivalent to one-fourth (1/4) of the employee's regularly scheduled workday, the following procedure shall apply:
