PAID PERSONAL/XXXXX’S LEAVE. 17.2.1. Taking paid personal/carer's leave - An employee may take paid personal/carer's leave if the leave is taken: a) because the employee is unfit for work because of a personal illness, or personal injury, affecting the employee; or b) to provide care or support to a member of the employee's immediate family, or a member of the employee's household, who requires care or support because of: i. a personal illness, or personal injury, affecting the member: or ii. an unexpected emergency affecting the member. 17.2.2. Employees are also entitled to personal/xxxxx's leave when they are absent from work because they visit a medical practitioner for advice and/or treatment for actual or suspected personal injury or illness and they comply with the notice and evidence requirements in Clauses 17.7.1 to 17.7.9. 17.2.3. Employees will not be granted personal leave when they have workers compensation approved.
PAID PERSONAL/XXXXX’S LEAVE. Personal leave is any leave taken for the purposes of personal illness or injury (sick leave). Xxxxx’s leave is any leave taken for the purposes of caring for an immediate family or household member who is ill, injured or in the case of an unexpected emergency in relation to that person (carer’s leave). Full-time permanent Employees will be entitled to a maximum of 76hrs (10 days equivalent) paid personal/carer’s leave for each year worked. This entitlement will accrue for each four (4) week period worked by the Employee. Personal/carer’s leave is cumulative. Unused balances will carry over from year to year and the entitlement will continue to accrue whilst the Employee is absent from work on paid leave granted by the Employer. Part-time Employees are entitled to a pro-rata amount of paid personal/carer’s leave. For the purposes of this clause “immediate family” is defined as: (a) A spouse, de facto partner, child, parent, grandparent, grandchild or sibling of the Employee; or (b) A child, parent, grandparent, grandchild or sibling of a spouse or de facto partner of the Employee.
PAID PERSONAL/XXXXX’S LEAVE. 39.1 Employees, other than casual employees, will be entitled to 10 days of paid Personal Leave per year of service in accordance with the NES (or an equivalent pro-rata where ordinary hours are less than 38 hours per week). 39.2 An employee’s entitlement to paid Personal/Xxxxx’s Leave accrues progressively during a year of service according to the employee’s ordinary hours of work and accumulates from year to year. 39.3 All employees are entitled to use 100% of their Personal Leave for the purpose of caring for members of the employee’s immediate family or household who are sick and require care and support or who require care due to an unexpected emergency or childbirth.

PAID PERSONAL/XXXXX’S LEAVE. 28.1 An Employee, other than a casual Employee, shall be entitled to paid personal/carer’s leave in accordance with the NES in the Act. 28.2 An Employee shall not be entitled to paid personal/carer’s leave for any period in respect of which the Employee is entitled to workers’ compensation. 28.3 From the commencement of this Agreement and on each anniversary thereafter, an Employee may provide a statutory declaration for absences except in the case of: 28.3.1 any absence of two (2) or more consecutive days; and/or 28.3.2 after three (3) single days of absence within any twelve (12) month period; and/or 28.3.3 any absence on a day before or after a weekend, public holiday or annual leave, on which occasion a medical or a pharmacy certificate must be provided. In any event, an Employee must satisfy the Employer as the reason for their absence to qualify for payment. 28.4 In cases where an Employee will be absent from work for any reason: 28.4.1 the Employee shall notify the Employer as soon as practicable of the Employee's inability to attend for work, and as far as practicable, state the estimated duration of absence; and 28.4.2 if, on the expiration of this or any subsequent notified duration of absence the Employee is unable to attend for work, the Employee shall notify the Employer as soon as reasonably practicable and, as far as is practicable, state the estimated duration of the further absence; and 28.4.3 the Employee shall notify the Employer of the Employee's intention to resume work after an absence, no later than midday on the working day before the day of intended resumption of work. 28.5 Personal/carer’s leave shall be paid to an Employee at the appropriate Ordinary Hourly Rate for the classification in which the Employee is employed. By agreement with the Employer, an Employee who has accrued personal/carer’s leave in excess of 3 weeks may request in writing to forego the entitlement to the amount of personal/carer’s leave credited to the Employee which is in excess of 15 days, in exchange for a payment by the Employer in lieu of the amount of personal/carer’s leave foregone, at the same rate of pay to which the Employee would have been entitled if the leave had been taken commencing on the date that the Employee elected in writing to forego the leave. In the case of part-time Employees, the preserved limit of 15 days in this clause shall be reduced pro-rata in strict accordance with the requirements of the Act.

PAID PERSONAL/XXXXX’S LEAVE. ‌ (a) Other than as set out in this clause 7.6, employees' entitlements to paid personal/carer's leave is as provided for in the NES. (b) Teachers who are currently receiving an entitlement to personal leave greater than provided in the NES shall be entitled to continue to access the greater yearly entitlement. However, leave taken in any one year for teachers will firstly be taken from the 10 day entitlement, next from the greater entitlement and finally, from the accrual. (c) Paid personal/carer's leave entitlements for all employees in Lutheran schools in Queensland shall be fully portable within Lutheran schools throughout Australia. (d) When the employee’s absence is for more than two (2) days, the employee is required to give the school a doctor’s certificate or other reasonably acceptable evidence about the nature and approximate duration of the illness and/or need to provide care or support.
PAID PERSONAL/XXXXX’S LEAVE. For the purposes of this clause, personal/carer’s leave is: (a) paid leave (sick leave) taken by the Employee because of a personal illness, or injury, of the Employee; or (b) paid leave (xxxxx’s leave) taken by the Employee to provide care or support to a member of the Employee’s immediate family or household, who requires care or support because of: (i) a personal illness, or injury, of the member; or (ii) an unexpected emergency affecting the member. The Employee shall accrue paid personal/carer’s leave at the rate of 1/26th of the number of nominal hours worked during each completed 4 week period of continuous service. Example: An employee who works 38 hours per week will accrue 76 hours of paid personal/carer’s leave in a 12- month period, which would be the equivalent of 10 days of paid personal/carer’s leave if the hours worked each week remained unchanged. Paid personal/carer’s leave accrues pro rata and is cumulative. Unused personal/carer’s leave will not be paid out on termination. To be entitled to payment for sick leave, the Employee must give the Company notice, as soon as reasonably practicable, of the requirement for leave and the expected period of the absence. This requirement does not apply in circumstances beyond the Employee’s control. To be entitled to payment for sick leave, the Employee will be required to provide a medical certificate from a registered health practitioner or, where that is not practical, a statutory declaration. This requirement will not apply in circumstances beyond the Employee’s control. To be entitled to paid xxxxx’s leave, the Employee must give notice to the Company as soon as reasonably practicable that the Employee requires (or required) leave during the period to provide care or support to a member of the Employee’s immediate family or household, who requires (or required) care or support because of: (a) a personal illness, or injury, of the member; or (b) an unexpected emergency affecting the member This notice does not apply in circumstances beyond the Employee’s control. To be entitled to carer’s leave, the Employee must give the Company, as soon as reasonably practicable, a document that is: (a) if the care or support is required because of a personal illness, or injury, of the member—a medical certificate from a registered health practitioner, or a statutory declaration made by the Employee; or (b) if the care or support is required because of an unexpected emergency affecting the member—a statutory d...
