Posting of Job Openings a. When a permanent vacancy develops or is expected to develop, it shall be brought to the attention of all affected or potentially affected Employees in a manner which insures adequate notice. b. Employees in the seniority unit who wish to apply for the vacancy or expected vacancy may do so in writing in accordance with reasonable rules developed by the Company. c. The notice requirement in Paragraph 7(a) above shall also apply to inform Employees of the Company’s choice to fill the vacancy.

Posting of Job Openings a. When a permanent vacancy develops or is expected to develop, the Company shall, to the greatest degree practicable, post notice of such vacancy or expected vacancy, for such period of time and in such manner as may be appropriate at each Plant. b. Employees who wish to apply for the vacancy or expected vacancy may do so in writing in accordance with reasonable rules developed by the Company. c. The notice requirement in Paragraph 7(a) above shall also apply to inform Employees of the Company’s choice to fill the vacancy. d. The Company shall, if in its judgment there are applicants qualified for the vacancy or expected vacancy, fill same from among such applicants in accordance with the provisions of Paragraphs 1 and 2 of this Section.
Posting of Job Openings. Job openings will be posted on regular bulletin boards for not less than 2 weeks prior to final filing date. See Article 32.10 for notice of job openings to employees on leave. The last day on which applications for the posted job opening will be accepted by the Human Resources Division will appear on the job opening announcement. Posting of Job Openings. Section 14.1 Filling an open regular position‌ In order to afford employees an opportunity to apply for open regular positions (an open regular position is one that has been permanently vacated by the prior employee or is the result of a newly created position), notice of such openings shall be posted within the district only, no later than ten (10) days from the date of opening for a period of five (5) working days. Such posted positions will be filled within ten (10) working days from closing of posting. The District will notify the Union if the timelines for posting and hiring will not be met in specific circumstances. Current employees who possess the necessary skills, abilities and qualifications to perform the essential functions of the position will be given first consideration, according to total district seniority; and then substitutes, who are members of the bargaining unit as defined in Section 10.2, if they have the necessary skills, abilities and qualifications to perform the essential functions of the position. If the position is not filled by a current employee or substitute as defined above, then the District will open the position to outside applicants. Regular employees who accept an open regular position in any job classification (inside or out of their job classification) are not allowed to return to their former position. If their former position becomes open, they may apply as per this section. Section 14.2 Subsequent Opening(s) due to filling an open regular position‌ A. If the open regular position is filled by an employee within the same job classification, subsequent openings within the classification do not need to be posted. These openings will be filled only from the list of employees who applied for the open regular position. Employees within the classification who applied will be given first consideration by total district seniority, if they have the skills, abilities and qualifications; then employees outside the classification who applied shall be considered by total district seniority, if they have the skills, abilities and qualifications to perform the essential functions of the position. B. If the open regular position is filled by an employee outside the job classification, the subsequent vacant position will be posted. C. If the open regular position is not filled by a current employee or a substitute who is a member of the bargaining unit as defined in Section 10.2, the position shall be posted to outside applicants.

If the position is not filled by a current employee or substitute as defined above, then the District will post the position to external applicants. External applicants include substitutes who are not included in the bargaining unit or have not yet met the sixty (60) days and satisfactory evaluation requirements. If the open regular position is filled by an employee outside the job classification, the subsequent vacant position will be posted. Regular employees who accept an open regular position in any job classification (inside or out of their job classification) are not allowed to return to their former position. If their former position becomes open, they may apply as per this section.
