PROGRAMME DELIVERY. 2.1 The Student shall attend the premises of each of the Academic Parties according to the following timetable (as may be amended by agreement between the Academic Parties from time to time): First year of the Programme at UCL in London, United Kingdom, in accordance with the standard UCL academic calendar Second year of the Programme at the Programme Partner in the location of that Programme Partner, in accordance with the standard academic calendar of that Programme Partner. 2.2 In the event that the Student fails to obtain an appropriate visa to study in the country of the Programme Partner for year two of the Programme and is therefore not able to complete the Programme, they can be considered for an interim qualification from UCL in line with UCL’s academic regulations. 2.3 The Student will be required to enrol with UCL at the beginning of the Programme and remain enrolled with UCL until their successful completion of the Programme. The Student will enrol with the Programme Partner that they have been accepted to during the second year of the Programme in accordance with the standard enrolment procedures of that Programme Partner. 2.4 The regulatory framework of each Academic Party relating to the assessment and examination of students on each Academic Party’s programmes of study, including provisions for academic appeals, academic misconduct and extenuating circumstances (Assessment Regulations), shall apply to the Programme as follows: 2.4.1 The Assessment Regulations of UCL shall apply to all modules delivered by UCL, and the Assessment Regulations of the Programme Partner shall apply to all modules delivered by the Programme Partner as well as the dissertation module (which, however, is subject to UCL’s external examining practices). 2.4.2 The Assessment Regulations of UCL shall apply to the Programme as a whole (including progression from year one to year two, the degree classification and whether or not the Student meets the requirements of the qualification in line with UCL’s academic regulations subject to paragraph 2.4.3 below). UCL may, in accordance with its Assessment Regulations, offer the Student the opportunity to resit failed exams or resubmit failed coursework before they are allowed to progress to their second Programme year at the relevant Programme Partner. PROGRAMME DELIVERY. The Student shall be required to register at each of UCL and Ca’ Foscari, in each case according to the rules and regulations of the relevant institution. The Student must successfully pass years one and two at Ca’ Foscari in accordance with the applicable Ca’ Foscari academic regulations before they can move to year three and four at UCL. The regulatory framework of each Academic Party relating to the assessment and examination of students on each Academic Party’s programmes of study, including provisions for academic appeals, marking scales, academic misconduct and extenuating circumstances (Assessment Regulations), shall apply to the programme as follows: The Assessment Regulations of UCL shall apply to all modules taught by UCL, and the Assessment Regulations of Ca’ Foscari shall apply to all modules taught by Ca’ Foscari. The degree classification for the UCL Awarded Degree will be calculated based on the modules the Student has completed at UCL only on years three and four of the dual degree programme with the best 90 credits obtained at UCL in year 3 weighted at 3 and all 120 credits obtained at UCL in year 4 weighted at 5. The academic credit the Student has obtained at one Academic Party will be transferred towards the Awarded Degree from the other Academic Party. The credit from Ca’ Foscari will be transferred to UCL and recorded on a pass/fail basis. It will be counted for the purposes of the threshold award requirement, but it will not contribute to the final classification outcome. As noted above, this will be based on the UCL credits alone. The credits obtained at UCL will be transferred to Ca’ Foscari and will be taken into account for both the purposes of award and classification of the Laurea in Lettere. The only interim qualification available from UCL for the Programme is the Certificate of Higher Education that can be awarded based on credit obtained at UCL only. In order to be awarded the Awarded Degrees by the Academic Parties, the Student must successfully complete the whole Programme, including successful completion of all years of the Programme at each Academic Party. The Student will receive a separate degree certificate from each Academic Party.
PROGRAMME DELIVERY. 2.1 UniSA is the administrative lead institution (the Lead Institution) for the Programme. 2.2 If, and to the extent that the Academic Parties agree to be jointly responsible for an aspect of the Awarded Degree, the Academic Parties shall agree joint procedures which apply to the Awarded Degree (the Joint Procedures). The Student shall be required to register at each of UCL and Imperial for the whole duration of the Programme, in each case according to the rules and regulations of the relevant institution. Subject to the other provisions in these additional terms and conditions, the academic regulations of Imperial shall apply to the Programme, including but not limited to: requirements to pass the Programme and classification rules, consequences of failure on any module and/or the Programme; mitigating circumstances; adequate progression on the Programme; academic appeals; academic misconduct, including plagiarism; interruption of study; withdrawing from the Programme FEES The Student shall pay the tuition fees to Imperial in accordance with the standard Imperial policies and processes relating to tuition fees. The Student shall not be required to pay tuition fees to UCL for the Programme. STUDENT MISCONDUCT AND COMPLAINTS Where the Student wishes to complain about any general aspect of the Programme (i.e. an aspect of the programme not specific to either Academic Party), (s)he must use the complaints process of Imperial. Where the Student wishes to raise a complaint against one of the Academic Parties, the relevant complaints procedure of that Academic Party will apply. The Student cannot raise the same complaint through both Parties complaints procedures. Each Academic Party will inform the other Academic Party about complaints made against it relating to the Programme. Allegations of non-academic misconduct by a Student in breach of an Academic Party’s regulations and policies (including issues relating to abusive or unreasonable behaviour, damage to property, use of computing facilities etc.) while in attendance at one of the Parties shall be dealt with by the relevant Party in accordance with its applicable student disciplinary procedures. The investigating Academic Party will inform the other Academic Party of any cases of non-academic misconduct. If the disciplinary matter took place outside of the premises of either Academic Party, Imperial regulations will apply and Imperial will take the lead in investigating the issue in co-operation with UCL. PROGRAMME DELIVERY. Each Programme delivered under this Agreement will have a range of requirements specified by external bodies and the Agency. Thus for each programme Open Door Adult Learning Centre will create and agree a Programme Quality Guide inclusive of all essential documentation to be used and maintained. Where possible Open Door Adult Learning Centre accept the paperwork already in place with the Subcontractor rather than impose Open Door Adult Learning Centre paperwork so long as in Open Door Adult Learning Centre opinion the external requirements are adequately met and data transfer issues are not made unreasonably difficult for either party. Open Door Adult Learning Centre expects the Subcontractor to provide: - in-depth, pre-course advice and guidance to Learners inclusive of eligibility checks (employer and Learner checks) and appropriateness of the provision in terms of meeting their individual and workplace needs. - individual learning plans that are prepared and include the different elements of learning, including key skills or skills for life support, are organised, integrated and agreed to ensure they are efficient and effective to the learning programme. - pre-course or in-course assessment undertaken using agreed procedures e.g. target skills or similar nationally approved skills for life assessment tools. - individual learning needs and support identified, documented and suitable arrangements put in place, in close liaison with and participation of the Learner. - pastoral support and guidance for Learners. - strategy for assessment, clear and planned from the outset and recorded in the individual learning plan. - a robust system of assessment, standardisation and moderation, including internal verification procedures, in accordance with the requirement of the relevant awarding body. - regularly assessed teaching and learning whether in groups or 1:1 and the results of observations are recorded and acted upon. - regular collection of Learner feedback and employer satisfaction and this is acted upon. - regularly undertaken progress reviews to ensure the Learner is in control of their own learning and provided with appropriate guidance and feedback to facilitate progression and achievement. PROGRAMME DELIVERY. If, and to the extent that the Academic Parties agree to be jointly responsible for an aspect of the Awarded Degree, the Academic Parties shall agree joint procedures which apply to the Awarded Degree (the Joint Procedures). Joint Procedures will be published by the Academic Parties and notified to the Student. Birkbeck will teach four compulsory modules on the Programme and UCL will teach one compulsory module and two optional modules. The dissertation module is owned by Birkbeck but will be delivered jointly by the Academic Parties. You shall be required to attend the premises of Birkbeck for the modules taught by Birkbeck and the premises of UCL for the modules taught by UCL. You shall be required to register at each of UCL and Birkbeck for the whole duration of the programme. You shall be subject to the rules, regulations and policies of Birkbeck relating attendance requirements, interruption of study and withdrawing from the Programme. PROGRAMME DELIVERY. No French-as-a-Second Language teacher will be required to deliver the programme to more than three split classes. The parties agree that the establishment of a Liaison Committee provides mutual benefit to both the Bargaining Unit and the Employer in maintaining a sound communicative and cooperative relationship. The Liaison Committee shall consist of three (3) members appointed by the Employer and three (3) members appointed by the Bargaining Unit. Terms of Reference for the Liaison Committee shall be developed and reviewed annually and take effect once they have been mutually agreed upon. The Liaison Committee shall meet by September and every three (3) months thereafter, or as required by the Bargaining Unit Executive or by the Employer to discuss matters of common or individual party concern.
