SI CK LEAVE a. All full-time Employees covered by this Agreement and with more than one (1)year of actual service shall be granted a sick leave with pay for fi8een (15) working days per calendar year. b. During an Employee's first year of employment the Employee shall Het begin accruing sick leave from the Employee's date of hire. The Employee shall accrue sick leave on the basis of one and one quarter (l 1/ 4) days for each month worked until January ISI of the first full year that the Employee has worked. At that point in time the Employee shall be granted sick leave as provided in Paragraph l4.a. c. The Employee must file with the Chief of Police a physician's statement of illness on the date of return to work whenever sick leave pay is requested for more than four (4) consecutive days. Employees may be required to file with the Chief of Police a physician's statement of illness on the date of return to work if there is a pattem of sick leave use, abuse of sick leave is suspected, or in accordance with the FMLA of 1993 . d. In the event of absence of said Employee for illness in excess of four (4) consecutive working days, the Chief of Police or the Town Manager may require an examination by an independent physician, such examination to be made at the expense of the Town of Xxxxxx. e. Unused sick leave is cumulative to a total of one hundred sixty (160) days with full pay. f. SI CK LEAVE. Employees shall be eligible for four (4) hours of sick pay for every calendar month of scheduled working days without any attendance violations, up to a maximum of six (6) days annually. Employees with approvedtimeoff leave must work a minimum sixteen (16) days in that calendar month. Sick pay may not be cashed in. Sick pays may not be carried over from year to year. Sick Pay will not be used for the purposes of calculating over time. Sick pay will not be paid out upon termination Sick Leave will not be considered approved time off. All full time employees that are not in probationary status are eligible for this sick pay benefit Employees may donate any sick pay that they have earned to another eligible employee for the purposes of assisting a fellow employee during a time of hardship.
SI CK LEAVE. 1. Employees who are employed on a regularly scheduled basis of half time of more shall accrue sick leave at the rate equivalent to one (1) day for each month worked. Any employee shall receive the accrual providing they work fifty percent (50%) of the scheduled month worked. The use of accrued sick leave shall be limited to instances of personal illness of the employees including medical appointments. 2. Employees who have completed one (1) full year of service with the District shall be accredited with the equivalent annual sick leave at the beginning of each fiscal or school year. Other employees shall be credited at the rate of one (1) day for each month worked. 3. Sick leave days may be accumulated by employees only if not used in the year f or which granted. Total unused sick leave which can be accumulated shall be unlimited. 4. When an employee has exhausted his/her accumulated sick pay credits, s/he shall be entitled to additional credits of one (1) day for each year of service at two -thirds (2/3) the daily rate of pay. Employees shall be entitled use of such credits on a one (1) time only basis. 5. Employees shall not be credited with any sick leave days with respect to periods during which they are on leave of absence from work for the D istrict of more than one (1) month duration; their accumulated sick leave shall not be charged with days of sickness during such leave; and they shall not be paid for days of illness during such leave except when the illness or injury is the factor which e ntitled the employee to the leave in question. 6. An employee assigned to work beyond the scheduled work year, or during summer school, may charge absences due to personal illness to his/her sick leave account. 7. The District shall continue its election pursuant to Chapter 646 Oregon Laws, 1973 (sick leave credit for retirement benefits). 8. The District will establish a Sick Leave Bank of three hundred and fifty (350) hours per year for use by employees who have exhausted their sick leave. The Federation can solicit voluntary contributions up to three hundred and fifty (350) hours per year. The guidelines for use of the Sick Leave Bank will be jointly developed by the District and the Federation but shall include the following: a. Use of hours from the Bank shall be only in cases of critical illness or injury of an employee. b. The employee must have exhausted all of his/her accumulated sick leave and vacation hours. c.   • Sick Leave 1. Employees will be granted one (1) day for each month of their contract year. The days granted will be available as of the first official day of the school year or the contract, whichever is applicable. 2. Sick leave may be accrued to the amount earned which shall be shown on each salary check. 3. The Board may require proof of illness whenever there is reasonable cause to believe that an absence is not due to a bona fide illness. 4. Days of accrued sick leave may be used to assist in the health care of persons who live in the employee's household, or to care for a parent, spouse, or a child regardless of their residence or for other relatives requested in writing and approved by the Superintendent/Designee prior to the leave. The Board may require proof of illness under the same requirements as the employee’s illness. 5. The absences in excess of available sick leave, deductions from salary shall be at the rate of 1/182 for Food Services Employees and 1/189 for Food Services Managers in excess of the number provided. 6. Employees hired prior to July 1, 1997: Employee will be paid for unused sick days in the following manner: a. Payment for unused sick days will be made to the employee upon that employee’s early or full service retirement or, upon the employee’s death, to the employee’s estate. Employees eligible for early or full service retirement who resign from employment and do not receive a retirement benefit, shall forfeit all rights to payment for unused sick days. b. Employees, who have a balance of less than 250 unused sick days as of June 30, 2002, will receive payment for 50% of the employee’s accumulated unused sick days up to a maximum of 250 unused days at their average daily rate*. c. Employees who have a balance of unused sick days greater then 250 days as of June 30, 2002, will receive payment for 50% of the employee’s accumulated unused sick days up to their June 30, 2002, unused sick leave balance, at their average daily rate*. d. Payments for unused sick days in amounts greater than $5,000 will be paid in equal amounts over five consecutive years beginning with the year of retirement. e. Payments for unused sick days in the amount at $5,000 or less or for the death of an employee will be paid in a lump sum to the employee or the employee’s estate in the year of retirement or death.

  • Vacation; Sick Leave During the Employment Term, the Executive shall be entitled to not less than four (4) weeks of vacation during each calendar year and sick leave in accordance with the Company’s policies and practices with respect to its executives.

  • Vacations; Leave The Employee shall be entitled to annual paid vacation in accordance with the policies established by the Board of Directors for executive employees and to voluntary leave of absence, with or without pay, from time to time at such times and upon such conditions as the Board of Directors may determine in its discretion.

  • FMLA Leave The Board agrees to comply with the Family and Medical Leave Act and agrees that any policy adopted to implement the FMLA shall in no way reduce or adversely impact any other provision of this Agreement.

  • Paid Sick Leave For those jurisdictions that have passed or will pass legislation requiring Paid Sick Leave, Paid Sick Time will be billed back to Client at the straight-time bill rate for all hours taken by any Consultant assigned to Client. This section is not applicable until the effective date of such legislation has been reached.

  • Xxxx Leave For laid off employees, sick leave accruals shall remain on the books and be reinstated if such employees are reappointed. Whenever a person becomes ineligible for reemployment, and such person has not been re-employed, then, if at the point of layoff such person was eligible to receive a sick leave accrual payoff, such person shall be paid for existing sick leave accruals in accordance with Section 1408 of this Agreement.

  • Family Sick Leave An employee may use sick leave credits for family illness or injury only if the employee must provide direct care to an immediate family member. For purposes of family sick leave, “immediate family member” will mean the employee’s parent, spouse, or child, including step-child and xxxxxx child.

  • Vacations and Sick Leave The Executive shall be entitled to paid annual vacation leave in accordance with the policies as established from time to time by the Board of Directors, which shall in no event be less than four weeks per annum. The Executive shall also be entitled to an annual sick leave benefit as established by the Board for senior management employees of the Bank. The Executive shall not be entitled to receive any additional compensation from the Bank for failure to take a vacation or sick leave, nor shall he be able to accumulate unused vacation or sick leave from one year to the next; provided, however, such Executive may carry forward from year to year a maximum of ten days of unused vacation leave.

  • Sick Leave Pay A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.
