STEWARDS AND UNION OFFICIALS. 7.01 The Union shall appoint or otherwise select a Committee composed of not more than five (5) members. The Union shall designate one of the five as the Chief Xxxxxxx. The Company shall recognize and meet with said Committee on any matter arising during the term of this agreement. The Employer shall not be required to meet with more than two (2) Stewards at any time.
STEWARDS AND UNION OFFICIALS. The Company recognizes the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select a Unit Chairperson, Stewards, Negotiation, Grievance, Health Safety and Accident review committees. These committees shall consist. of a reasonable number. The Union will notify in writing the of Unit Chairperson, Stewards and other representatives when there is a change. The Union will inform the Company in writing of the name of the .Chief Xxxxxxx and each other Xxxxxxx and any subsequent change in the names of such stewards. The Company shall not be asked to recognize any Xxxxxxx until such notification from the Union has been received. The Company will only be required to recognize the 'primary Chairperson and Xxxxxxx by the Union at each location regardless of the number of Stewards. Wherever possible a grievance shall be processed during the normal working hours of the Xxxxxxx. A Xxxxxxx shall receive his regular rate of pay when grievances at Step and Step are processed with-in the Company property or at any other place which is mutually agreed upon by both the Union and the Company. If the Company representative is unable to meet the Chief Xxxxxxx during the Chief Xxxxxxx’x normal working hours, the Chief Xxxxxxx shall be paid at his regular rate of pay for all time spent during the processing of the grievance at Steps and with the Company on the Company’s property or at any other place which is mutually agreed upon by both the Union and the Company, is understood and agreed that the first responsibility of a xxxxxxx is to work for the Company and he shall not leave such work except in the performance of his duties under this agreement and then not until he has received permission from his supervisor, and only in such a way as to cause the least possible loss of production or service and only after having explained the nature of his business to the supervisor involved. In any event, the xxxxxxx shall be responsible for the quantity and quality of work as other employees. The Company will notify the Union Representative by e-mail or fax prior to the discharge of the Chief Xxxxxxx, except in cases of drunkenness or dishonesty. For the purpose of this Agreement the stewards together with the Negotiating Committee and the National Representative shall be deemed to be the officials of the Union. The parties agree that the Union officials occupy positions of leadership and responsibility to see that this agreement is faithfully carried out.
STEWARDS AND UNION OFFICIALS. 6.01 The Union has the right to appoint and the Employer will recognize in each Facility covered by this Agreement, three (3) Stewards for those facilities with less than seventy-five (75) beds, four (4) Stewards for Maple Park Lodge, five (5) Stewards for those facilities with one hundred (100) beds or more, and one (1) CLAC Representative or his designate as representatives of the employees in matters pertaining to this Agreement. The Stewards must be selected from the members of the bargaining unit who have completed their probationary period. No more than two (2) Stewards may meet with Management at any one time except as provided in Article 6.04 herein.
STEWARDS AND UNION OFFICIALS. The Company shall recognize shop stewards and shall not discriminate against them for lawful Union activity. The Union will have no less than one shop xxxxxxx at each Company terminal, and the Company will be notified in writing of such person.
