UNION MEMBERSHIP AND CHECK. OFF 4.01 All regular employees who are Union members at the signing of the Agreement shall, as a condition of employment, maintain their Union membership in good standing for the duration of this contract. 4.02 All regular employees, who are not members of the Union at the date of the signing of this Agreement, shall, as a condition of employment, have the Company deduct from their pay an amount equal to the local Union monthly dues, for the duration of the contract. 4.03 Dues are defined for the purpose of this Clause as the regular Union dues, as prescribed by the Constitution of the Union. Dues are equal to two (2) hours and twenty (20) minutes of the base hourly wage of the employee. 4.04 a) The Company will, upon receipt of an authorization card, signed by an employee covered by Clauses 4.01, and 4.02 of this Agreement, for the duration of this Agreement, deduct monthly, the regular monthly dues of such employees, and remit such monies to the Financial Secretary of Local 127 of the National Union C.A.W. by the fifteenth (15th) of the month following the month in which the dues were deducted.
UNION MEMBERSHIP AND CHECK. Off of Union Dues To the extent the laws of the Sate of Michigan permit, it is agreed that: (1) The Employer agrees to make Union dues deductions once each month from the pay of the employees who have authorized that such deductions be made as set forth in Subsections 4, until the employee revokes the authorization by written notice to the Union and the Employer. (2) As soon as practicable following the decision to hire a new employee into the bargaining unit, the Employer shall notify the Union of newly hired bargaining unit employees and provide the Union an opportunity during the onboarding process to meet with newly hired bargaining unit employees to discuss the employee’s options with respect to becoming or not becoming a member of the Union. (3) Each employee who becomes a member of the Union after June 27, 2018, must sign the Union’s Application for Union Membership and Authorized Dues Deduction Card. (4) The Employer shall not make any Union payroll deductions from any employee without written authorization from the employee. In the case of an employee who becomes a member after June 27, 2018, written authorization must be in the form of a signed and completed application for Union Membership and Authorized Dues Deduction Card, as well as any additional written authorization as the Employer may require. In the event the terms of the Employer’s written authorization conflicts with the terms of the Union’s Card, the terms of the Card shall be controlling. For an employee who became a member prior to June 27, 2018, the employer must have from the employee written authorization showing the employee’s clear intent to participate in Union payroll deductions. (5) Deductions for any calendar month shall be remitted to the Union. In the event that a refund is due to any employee for any sums deducted from wages and paid to the Union, it shall be the responsibility of such employee to obtain the appropriate refund from the Union. (6) The Employer shall not be liable for the remittance or payment of any sums other than those constituting actual deductions made. If the Employer fails to make a deduction for any employee as provided, it shall make that deduction from the employee’s next pay period in which such deduction is normally deducted after the error has been called to its attention by the employee for the Union. (7) If there is an increase or decrease in Union payroll deductions, as determined, and established by the Union, such changes shall become eff...

UNION MEMBERSHIP AND CHECK. OFF DUES 5.01 The Hospital will deduct from the first pay of an employee who has completed one month of employment with the Hospital an amount equivalent to the regular monthly union dues which may be expressed in dollar amounts or hourly formula and is uniformly levied on all employees. The Union shall hold the Hospital harmless with respect to all dues deducted and remitted and with respect to any liability which the Hospital might incur as a result of such deduction and remittance. The first deduction for new employees shall be made in the month next following the month in which the employee is hired. Deductions for all employees shall be made every pay period and forwarded to the Treasurer of the Union not later than the 15th day of the month following the month in which they were deducted. The Hospital shall also forward with the deductions a list of employees from whom deductions were made with the individual deducted amounts.

UNION MEMBERSHIP AND CHECK. Off Membership in the Union shall be voluntary on the part of each employee. The Employer will, as a condition of employment, deduct from the earnings of each employee covered by this Collective Agreement an amount equal to the dues as determined by the Union. Such deductions shall be forwarded by direct deposit to the Secretary-Treasurer of Union not later than the tenth (10th) day of the following month in which the dues were deducted or sooner if completed before such date accompanied by a list of each employee name and the amount deducted. The Union will save the Employer harmless from any claims that may arise either from any deductions from wages in respect of check-off of Union monthly assessments or any other action taken at the request of the Union. The Employer shall provide the following when submitting monthly dues to the Union: Individual employee’s name and classification. Individual employee’s hourly rate of pay. Location of employment. Individual employee’s employment status (full time or casual) Total payroll cost for the period of the due submission. Every six (6) months and upon the hire of a new employee, the Employer will provide the Union with a list of individual employee’s phone numbers and mailing addresses. The Union will advise the Employer in writing of any changes in the amount of dues to be deducted from the employees covered by this Collective Agreement. Such notice shall be provided at least thirty (30) calendar days prior to the effective date of the change.

Dues are equal to two (2) hours and twenty (20) minutes of the base hourly wage of the employee. 5.05 a) The Company, will upon receipt of an authorization card, signed by an employee covered by Clauses 5.01, 5.02, and 5.03 of this Agreement, who has com- pleted thirty (30) days worked, for the duration of this Agreement, deduct monthly, the regular monthly dues of such employees, and remit such monies to the Financial Secretary of Local 112 of the National Union CAW by the fifteenth (15th) of the month following the month in which the dues were deducted.
