Vertical Movement. Employees covered by this Agreement will move vertically on the salary schedule provided that they have completed the required service in the prior year. Employees may not move more than one vertical step per year. An employee who worked less than one semester in the prior year will not be eligible for vertical movement on the salary schedule.
Vertical Movement. 14.11.1 Vertical movement shall occur based upon a satisfactory evaluation pursuant to Article X Evaluation. An employee shall advance only one vertical step per year.
14.11.2 Vertical movement on the salary schedule shall not occur if a bargaining unit member receives an evaluation with a “mandatory review” summary recommendation.
Vertical Movement. 1. All employees shall advance one vertical step on the salary schedule for each year of service, except those whose placement is at the maximum step for their class. Tandem employees shall receive one year of salary schedule credit for every two full years of tandem service.
2. An employee working in the District will be advanced to the next step of the appropriate column of the salary schedule (unless he/she is at the maximum step) if he/she worked under contract (including days of paid leave) 75% of the workdays in the preceding year. Any days worked under contract for another employer during the year of initial employment shall be included in making this determination if such service was of the type that would be applicable for initial salary schedule placement and the employee leaves the prior employer to work in Paramount Unified School District.
3. Employees shall receive a longevity increment in addition to their regular salary (as shown on the salary schedule). Employment service shall be defined as years of service actually granted for salary purposes at the time of initial employment, plus years of credited service in the District. Credited service for the purposes of this Section shall include all certificated service to the District.
Vertical Movement. Employees covered by this agreement will move vertically on the salary schedule provided that they have completed the required service in the prior year. An employee who worked less than one semester in the prior year will not be eligible for vertical movement on the salary schedule. Individuals placed on the last step in a column on the salary schedule must qualify for, and be granted, horizontal advancement before they can move vertically again. Refer to Section 5.2 (a) and (b) of this agreement. Notwithstanding the number of credited years of experience, employees covered by this agreement will be advanced only one vertical step on the salary schedule in a single year for continuous service. Employees will not be given credit for experience when absent from their duties due to sabbatical leave or extended medical leave. Employees who are re-employed by the District under the terms and conditions of the District's Reduction-in-Force policy will not receive credit for experience due to their right to recall. Note - Extended medical leave is medical leave whereby an employee is absent from their assigned duties for more than half of the contract year. Employee(s) who are required to be absent from their assigned duties under the condition of military leave will be granted credit on the experience scale for such leave only if the District is required to do so by law.
Vertical Movement. Except for Nutrition Services, when filling a position within the promotional chain, the most senior candidate according to classification (numerical rank), within the department shall be given preference if the qualifications, skills, abilities, and/or the best interest of the district do not dictate otherwise. Except for Nutrition Services managers, in the Nutrition Services Department when two (2) or more employees have equal qualifications for a job, the senior employee in the department shall be given the job unless the best interest of the district dictates otherwise. Nutrition Services Managers will be selected using the following criteria: The best interest of the Nutrition Services program (creativity, enthusiasm, based on management skills, organizational skills, and additional training). Department seniority will be considered.
Vertical Movement. The vertical index shall be 4.50%. Teachers shall be placed on the proper vertical step in accordance with the experience in the District, but limited to one step per year.
Vertical Movement. Vertical placement and movement on the salary schedule is determined by years of teaching experience. Each year of satisfactory teaching service in the Wilmington public school system shall entitle a Teacher to advance one (1) step and only one (1) such step in any given year. Any course work must be submitted to and approved by the Building Principal, Assistant Superintendent, and Superintendent for approval prior to enrollment. Newly hired Teachers will be given credit for prior full-time public school teaching experience as follows:
Vertical Movement. 1. All unit members shall advance one vertical step on the salary schedule for each year of service, except those whose placement is at the maximum step for their class. In order to qualify as a year of service, the unit member must have served at least 75% of the regularly assigned annual days of service for that year.
2. In no case shall a unit member advance more than one salary step per year, even if he/she was earlier frozen at a particular step due to failure to meet the previously existing unit requirement.
3. Salary steps shall be based upon accredited years of service rather than service in the District. Accredited service shall include both the years of experience credit granted upon initial placement and the years of actual District service, subject to the 39-month-reemployment limitation of Section B of this Article.
Vertical Movement. All unit members shall advance one (1) vertical step on the salary schedule for each year of service, except those whose placement is at the maximum step for their class.
16.4.1 Unit members who have been employed in the regular educational program of the District as probationary or permanent members before being subsequently assigned to programs conducted under contract with public or private agencies or other categorically funded projects will be entitled to continue on the salary schedule for each year of service while assigned to such restricted programs.
Vertical Movement. All unit members shall advance one vertical step on the salary schedule for each year of service except those whose placement is at the maximum step for their class. A year of service is earned upon completion of a minimum of seventy-five percent (75%) of the total days taught during the prior twelve months. Vertical movement shall be made only at the beginning of the first semester and at the beginning of the sixth school month.
