WORK YEAR, WORKWEEK, AND WORKDAY. A. The work year will be determined by the Board of Education and this provision shall not be construed to guarantee a set work year employee or number of hours to any bargaining unit member. All employees in a position will work on reporting to parent days, between semesters and for a full day on the last day students attend school, except for child care workers who may work a modified schedule. In the case of increased pupil instruction time in the classroom by teachers, the Board agrees to meet with the Bargaining unit to discuss a corresponding increase in hours for bargaining unit members. B. The normal workweek shall be Monday through Friday. However, the Board of Education may adjust this schedule to five (5) days within a seven (7) day period as needed. C. 1. Employees may be assigned to work on tasks at hours beyond their normally scheduled workday. All assigned additional work must have prior approval of the immediate administrative supervisor. Additional assigned work will be compensated at the regular hourly rate consistent with Article 17 Section B.

WORK YEAR, WORKWEEK, AND WORKDAY. A. The normal workday schedule for all employees shall be established by the Board based on the Board's determination of the needs and resources of the Board and may be changed from time to time as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Board. The number of hours of work will not be reduced without prior consultations with the Association. However, if emergency situations arise, as determined by the Board, the Board has the sole discretion to reduce the number of hours without prior consultation with the Association. B. Employees in Categories 1 and 2 shall work the following: 1. The work year shall begin ten (10) workdays before the first day for students (if this falls on a Tuesday, the work year will start on Monday) and end ten (10) workdays after the teacher's work year. 2. Eight (8) hours a day and forty (40) hours per week. 3. The employee shall have a thirty (30) minute duty-free paid lunch period. C. Employees in Categories 3 shall work the following: 1. The work year shall begin with the first day of school for returning teachers. 2. The employee shall work on all student days. 3. The employee shall work six and one-half (6.5) hours per day. 4. The employee shall have a thirty (30) minute duty-free unpaid lunch period. D. All employees may be required to work overtime from time to time as determined by the Board. Overtime (any work beyond forty (40) hours per week) shall be compensated at the rate of time and one-half (1 1/2) of the regular hourly pay during a regularly scheduled workweek. Compensatory time may be allowed at the discretion of the Superintendent or his/her designee. Any compensatory time so accrued must be used within the current school year or the employee will be paid the appropriate amount of overtime pay. E. If an employee uses paid leave (sick or personal) it cannot be counted whenever overtime would be calculated unless the employee is directed to work beyond his/her normally scheduled workweek. The hours then, beyond forty (40), shall be counted as overtime. F. Bargaining unit members shall be entitled to a fifteen (15) minute relief period, as possible or as scheduled by their immediate supervisor, for each four (4) hours of work. G. All employees will fill out time cards as required by the Board and submit them to the Building Principal for signature in a timely manner.

The normal work year for all other employees shall be twelve (12) months. The normal workweek is Monday through Friday. The normal workday includes a lunch period (which shall be paid for employees required to be on duty) of at least thirty (30) minutes duration for all employees whose workday is six (6) hours or more. C. The minimum return-to-site pay for work beyond the regularly scheduled workday/week shall be three (3) hours. D. All employees except drivers may take personal break time as needed. Employees working overtime will be entitled to an additional ten (10) minute paid relief time after every two (2) hours worked if the overtime worked exceeds two (2) hours. Break time shall be scheduled by the supervisor according to the following schedule: 1. Hrs. 0-4 = 0 Minutes 2. Hrs. greater than 4-6 = 10 Minutes
