WORKLOAD FOR LIBRARIANS. 24.1 The following elements constitute Librarian members' workload: professional practice (the provision of information services to library users and the technical services required to deliver these information services); scholarly and/or professional activity, and internal and external collegial service. Professional practice may include the teaching of one half- unit LIBR course per Agreement year. In addition, a librarian member’s workload may include administrative service. 24.1.1 To facilitate scholarly and/or professional activity members are entitled to sixteen (16) off-campus or on-campus research days per Agreement year. 24.1.2 Time taken under 24.1.1: 24.1.2.1 may not be carried beyond June 30 of an Agreement year; 24.1.2.2 may be taken at a rate of two days or less per month, or banked and taken in larger blocks; 24.1.2.3 shall be handled as part of normal scheduling procedures if time taken is two days or less per month; 24.1.2.4 shall be scheduled with the University Librarian by June 30 of each Agreement year if a block of time taken is greater than two days per month. 24.1.3 No member is required to teach an overload. Where such an assignment is undertaken, the member shall teach no more than one half unit of overload per year and shall be compensated in accordance with Article 38.15. 24.2 Each librarian member shall submit an annual report on her workload activities during the period 1 May – 30

This shift shall consist of four (4) consecutive hours of reference service and shall be compensated as follows: 24.3.1 One weekend shift shall be equivalent to seven (7) hours release time; 24.3.2 One holiday weekend shift shall be equivalent to ten and one-half (10.5) hours release time. 24.4 Where a member is required to provide library service outside her normal hours of work, she shall be compensated at a rate of one hour of release time for each hour worked. Where a member is required to provide library service at off-campus locations, she shall be compensated at a rate of one hour of release time for each hour of travel time outside her normal hours of work. 24.5 The scheduling of work assignments shall be done in consultation with the member, and approved by the University Librarian. WORKLOAD FOR LIBRARIANS a. Library faculty shall normally work one hundred ninety-five (195) days distributed throughout the academic year, September 1 through August 31. No librarian shall work both weekend days (Saturday and Sunday) on a recurrent basis. To facilitate scholarship and other professional activity, each member of the library faculty is entitled to five (5) off-campus research release days per year. b. Given the professional nature of the library faculty membersduties and responsibilities, librarians should participate in University service, other University activities, and professional service external to the University, recognizing they must otherwise meet their responsibilities (including any date and time specific responsibilities such as teaching, research/reference consultations, etc.) as part of the workload of the normal work year. c. Each librarian shall work thirty-five (35) hours per week. To enable librarians to fulfill professional obligations outside of the 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. business hours of the library, a librarian’s starting times may be flexed during such weeks (or other weeks within the pay period) when a librarian’s professional obligations necessitate work outside of the normal business hours of the library (i.e., teaching classes before 9 a.m. or after 5 p.m.). d. The schedules and work assignments of the librarians shall be determined by the Xxxx in consultation with the faculty in such manner as to provide necessary and appropriate staffing of the Libraries’ services and operations in support of the academic programs offered during the day, evening and weekends, all sessions and special programs of the University. Scheduling shall also take into account the scholarly, service, and other professional obligations of library faculty associated with the University. e. The sixty-five (65) days not worked by each librarian shall be charged to one of the following categories of leave: (1) vacation, (2) personal days to handle personal business or personal emergencies (e.g., family illness), (3) holidays (including energy days) when the University is officially closed. Sick days, bereavement days and professional development days shall be counted as workdays with the approval of the xxxx. Sick days, bereavement days and days not worked due to personal emergency shall be reported to the Xxxx immediately. f. WORKLOAD FOR LIBRARIANS. Librarians shall work 40 hours per week pursuant to a schedule proposed by each faculty member subject to the approval of the Board. If a schedule is unacceptable to the Board, then the faculty member shall be informed of the reasons why it is unacceptable, and the schedule shall be returned to the faculty member for revision and resubmittal within 3 college workdays. If the resubmitted schedule is also unacceptable to the Board, then the Board shall determine such schedule. The regular working day of such faculty shall include a 1-hour unpaid meal period.

These hours may be assigned on a flexible basis to include work before 9:00 or after 17:00, and on Saturday or Sunday. No member shall be required to work more than six consecutive days without at least two consecutive days off immediately following. A new Librarian member's Letter of Appointment shall specify any flexible scheduling requirements of her position. 24.4 In order to provide information services on weekends, a member's work schedule may include one, four-hour weekend shift per month in each term. Effective 1 July, 2009, this entitlement shall be increased to 15 days. 24.1.2 For the period up to and including 30 June 2009 probationary librarian members hired on or after 1 July 2006 are entitled to an additional three (3) off-campus or on-campus research days per year during the first three years of an initial probationary appointment.   • Librarians The normal work week for librarians is 35 hours per week. The maximum for reference desk coverage is 20 hours per week. Individual faculty members may elect to exceed this maximum. Where librarians are involved in instructional modes listed in Article 12.03, these shall be pro-rated. For part-time regular and non-regular type 2 librarians, part of their assignment shall be scheduled as non reference desk duties as agreed upon by the librarian and the administrator responsible. Scheduling work shall follow past practices and shall be delivered in cooperation with the administrator responsible.

  • Particular Methods of Procurement of Goods and Works International Competitive Bidding. Goods and works shall be procured under contracts awarded on the basis of International Competitive Bidding.

  • Technology Upgrades Notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, Verizon shall have the right to deploy, upgrade, migrate and maintain its network at its discretion. The Parties acknowledge that Verizon, at its election, may deploy fiber throughout its network and that such fiber deployment may inhibit or facilitate PNG’s ability to provide service using certain technologies. Nothing in this Agreement shall limit Verizon's ability to modify its network through the incorporation of new equipment or software or otherwise. PNG shall be solely responsible for the cost and activities associated with accommodating such changes in its own network.

  • Training Program It is agreed that there shall be an Apprenticeship Training Program, the provisions of which are set forth in Exhibit "D", which is attached hereto and forms part of this Agreement.

  • Training Programs All employees shall successfully complete all necessary training prior to being assigned work (e.g., all employees will complete health and safety training prior to being assigned to task). Nothing in this Article or provision shall constitute a waiver of either party’s bargaining obligations or defenses. The Employer still has an obligation to notify and bargain changes in terms and conditions of employment with the exclusive representative.

  • RE-WEIGHING PRODUCT Deliveries are subject to re- weighing at the point of destination by the Authorized User. If shrinkage occurs which exceeds that normally allowable in the trade, the Authorized User shall have the option to require delivery of the difference in quantity or to reduce the payment accordingly. Such option shall be exercised in writing by the Authorized User.

  • Screening After you sign and date the consent document, you will begin screening. The purpose of the screening is to find out if you meet all of the requirements to take part in the study. Procedures that will be completed during the study (including screening) are described below. If you do not meet the requirements, you will not be able to take part in the study. If anyone is exposed to your blood during the study, you will have these tests done again. If you have a positive test, you cannot be in or remain in the study. HIV is the virus that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). If your HIV test is positive, you will be told about the results. It may take weeks or months after being infected with HIV for the test to be positive. The HIV test is not always right. Having certain infections or positive test results may have to be reported to the State Department of Health. This includes results for HIV, hepatitis, and other infections. If you have any questions about what information is required to be reported, please ask the study investigator or study staff. Although this testing is meant to be private, complete privacy cannot be guaranteed. For example, it is possible for a court of law to get health or study records without your permission.

  • Protocols Each party hereby agrees that the inclusion of additional protocols may be required to make this Agreement specific. All such protocols shall be negotiated, determined and agreed upon by both parties hereto.

  • Manufacturing (a) The Supplier shall without limitation be responsible, at no additional cost to the Purchaser, for: sourcing and procuring all raw materials for the Products; obtaining all necessary approvals, permits and licenses for the manufacturing of the Products; providing sufficient qualified staff and workers to perform the obligations under this Purchase Agreement; implementing and maintaining effective inventory and production control procedures with respect to the Products; and handling other matters as reasonably requested by the Purchaser from time to time. (b) The Supplier shall not change any process, material, component, packaging or manufacturing location without the Purchaser’s express prior written approval.
