APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE. The central parties agree that within sixty (60) days of the commencement of this agreement, a joint local committee consisting of up to three representatives each will be formed to discuss the feasibility of establishing an apprenticeship program(s). If such a program is deemed feasible, the local parties will determine the terms and conditions of such program(s). The joint local committee will seek the availability of any federal or provincial funds to cover the costs of such programs.
APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE. The City and the Union agree to renew the Apprenticeship Committee from the 2007 settlement and to amend the report out date to “annually”.
APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE. (a) Northgate Minerals Corporation will undertake where practical to train a limited number of apprentices while working directly with the Industry Training and Apprenticeship Commission (ITAC), or any other successor organization designated by the government, that is responsible for all apprenticeship training in British Columbia. All training and examinations will be held in British Columbia. (b) The Company will establish a joint apprenticeship committee whose function shall be to fully examine the apprenticeship training program and make recommendations in respect thereto. Any changes made by the Company and or the joint committee shall be in accordance with the appropriate legislation. (c) The Company will undertake to train a limited number of apprentices in the automotive, heavy duty, electrical, welding, millwright, instrumentation trades and any apprenticeships in other trades as required by the Company. (d) In selecting applicants for one of the apprenticeship programs it is understood that an applicant meets the minimum selection criteria, as outlined by ITAC and also passes the pre-apprenticeship exam. The passing xxxx for this exam is 70%. For instrumentation and electrical apprenticeships the candidate must pass an aptitude exam as part of the selection process. (e) Employees who possess a certified trades designation shall not be considered for an apprenticeship position unless no other employees qualify. (f) Candidate selection will be based on the following weighted criteria: Meets educational requirements Mandatory Government pre-apprenticeship tests 40% Committee interview and site test 25% Seniority 35% (g) Apprentices shall be expected to purchase the required minimum tools prior to starting their apprenticeship and be in the process of building up the necessary tools to equip themselves for their future job requirements. (h) An apprentice absent from the job due to attendance at a provincial apprenticeship school will be paid wage continuation consisting of his regular pay less any training allowances received based on a 40-hour work week at straight time. (i) No repeating of any school term will be allowed due to unsatisfactory attendance, or behavior resulting in failure to pass exams. In this event the employee’s status will be reviewed by the joint apprenticeship committee and suitability for continued employment will be assessed and findings reported to the General Manager. APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE. The Employer and the Union agree to establish an Apprenticeship Committee consisting of not more than three (3) representatives of the Union and three (3) representatives of the Employer. The Committee shall meet as often as necessary to study, review and discuss the viability of an apprenticeship program at the City of Burnaby and where the Employer determines such a program is viable, the Committee shall review and discuss the various aspects related to the implementation of such program. The Committee shall report its findings and recommendations by 2004 July 01 to their respective principals. Such recommendations may be implemented by mutual agreement of the parties.
APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE. A. The Apprenticeship Committee is the administrative body of the Apprenticeship training activities in the painting industry in the area covered by this Agreement. In addition to the above, the Apprenticeship Committee may accept as part of its responsibilities a journeyman up-grading, certification, and testing program in any and all phases of the industry. B. The specific and primary purpose of the Apprenticeship Committee shall be to advise and direct the Director, to encourage Apprenticeship training in the Painting and Decorating Industry to the maximum potential; to provide area wide direction and services to the Apprenticeship training program through the Apprenticeship Committee, to administer standards of Apprenticeship uniformly throughout the area, and to provide centralized record keeping of the Apprenticeship Training activities. It is understood that the Apprenticeship Committee shall conduct all activities relevant to processing applications, indentures, placements, apprentice ratings and such other functions as are consistent with the Xxxxxx-Xxxxxx Act. 1. Members of the Apprenticeship committee shall be as specified in the Apprenticeship Standards. 2. In addition, there may be one advisor from the School District or other agency conducting class room training and one apprenticeship consultant representing the State Division of Apprenticeship Standards, Department of Industrial Relations and/or the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training, U. S. Department of Labor; and such other advisors as the Apprenticeship Committee shall determine.
APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE. To assure the industry of an adequate supply of properly trained and skilled Journeymen, Apprentice and Journeyman training shall be under the jurisdiction of the Joint Training and Apprenticeship Committee, com- posed of four (4) representatives from the Union and four (4) representatives from O.R.A.C.
APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE. The Company and the Council acknowledge that they have a mutual interest in the promotion of apprenticeship training and to this end agree to maintain a joint committee with equal representation (up to six (6) members named by each of the Company and Council) to co-ordinate and participate in the selection and training of apprentices and to be responsible for responding to legislative program changes that impact on apprenticeship activities, provided that where such changes impact on the Collective Agreement they shall not be implemented until the parties to the Collective Agreement give their approval.

Between: And: And: Subject: JOINT BENEFITS REVIEW COMMITTEE This Letter of Intent outlines the terms and conditions agreed to by the Joint Benefits Review Committee regarding the redesign of Disability Income Plans and Group Life Insurance; enhancements to Dental and Extended Health Benefits; and funding of the Employee Assistance Program. The proposed effective date of the changes is 1990 December 24 (except for those changes which cannot administratively be delivered); and is subject to ratification by all parties and other necessary approvals such as the Superintendent of Insurance, the membership of the Burnaby Municipal Benefit Society and the Superannuation Commissioner.
