ARTICLE UNION LEAVE. The Employershallgrant leave ofabsence to employeesto attend Unionconventions, seminars,educationalclasses or other Union business as requested by the local or national Union. In making application for leave of absence for Union business, it is understood that the application will be in writing and in the hands of the Director or designate at least five (5) working days prior to the commencement of such leave of absence. Where leave of absence for Union business is requested, it is understood that the Union will not request leave of absence for more than six (6) employeesat any one time. Such release time shall be Without loss of wages or benefits. In the event that a replacement Member is used to cover release time described above, the cost of the replacement Member shall be reimbursed by the Union. Any education leave, as legislated or as required by the Employer as a term of employment, shall be paid by the Employer and the employee shall not lose wages or benefits while on this educational leave.

ARTICLE UNION LEAVE. (a) Further to Article the Hospital may grant leaves of absence without pay for up to an aggregate total for all leaves of fifty (50) days during each calendar year. Such leaves may be granted to not more than three (3) employees at any time and to not more than one (Ie)mployee from the same area. In addition to the leave of absence set out above, members of the Union Executive Board Council employed by the Hospital will be entitled to an additional cumulative leave of absence, without pay, not to exceed ten (10) days per contract year, subject to the conditions set out above, for the purpose of attending Executive Council meetings. ARTICLE UNION LEAVE. An employee elected or appointed to a full-time position with the Union shall be granted up to one (1) year off, without loss of seniority. All hours while on such leave will be considered equivalent to regular hours worked and paid by the Company. Thereto, the Company will make normal contributions towards the Dental, Extended Health and Pension benefit plans on behalf of the employee. The Union will reimburse the Company the full cost including wages, contributions to the Plans, Employer Health tax, premiums, Premiums and the like.

  • Local Union Leave Upon written request, leave of absence without pay shall be granted to employees for Union business in accordance with the following provisions:

  • Union Leave (a) Upon receiving a written request at least one (1) week in advance from the Union, the Company will grant leave of absence for not more than two (2) employees at any one time to attend Union conferences, conventions, or workshops, providing that the combined leaves of absence will not exceed forty (40) working days in any one (1) calendar year. Such leaves of absence will be without pay but with maintenance and accumulation of benefits (normal payroll deductions to apply).

  • Union Leaves Employees on Union Leaves will be treated as provided in Article 18 (Q) while working on Union leave.

  • Union Leave of Absence An employee on an unpaid Union leave of absence shall have her wages, benefits and seniority continued by the Employer, and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the costs of such wages and benefits. Employees requesting leave under this article will provide the Employer with as much advance notice as possible of the dates of the leave. Where there are less than fifteen (15) regular employees at a workstation at the time the leave request is submitted, and subject to operational requirements, unpaid Union leave of absence will be granted to one employee for the purpose of conducting Union business. This would be an additional person on Union leave at worksites where the position of the Union President or Council member has been backfilled for the duration of their term of office. A leave of absence without pay shall be granted to an employee who is a member of the Union and who is:

  • Trade Union Training Leave (a) Subject to all qualifications in this clause, an employee appointed or elected as an accredited representative of the union to which he/she belongs will, upon application in writing to the Enterprise, be granted up to 5 days leave with pay each calendar year non-cumulative to attend courses conducted or approved by the Union.

  • Full-Time Union Leave Upon application by the Union, in writing, the Company will grant leave of absence, without pay, to an employee elected or appointed to full-time Union position. It is understood that not more than one (1) employee in the bargaining unit may be on such leave at the same time. Seniority and service shall accumulate during the full term of such leave.

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part- time employees who are elected to or appointed to the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario subject to the following limitations:

  • Federation Leave A leave of absence for the president and a second position of the Federation shall be granted to any employee covered by this Agreement upon application by the Federation for the purpose of the employee serving as an officer of the Federation. The District shall continue to pay such employee(s) and provide benefits, with the exception of leave benefits, but will be reimbursed by the Federation for the cost of salary and fringe benefits. Upon return from such leaves, an employee shall proceed on the salary schedule as if s/he had been employed with the District each year of the leave. The Federation agrees to consider carefully each request for release time for Federation members.   • Professional Leaves 1. Professional Leaves are to be used by an employee to gain knowledge for the position contracted through Bath Local Schools. The employee must request Professional Leave through the employee kiosk. Upon approval, the employee may be permitted to attend the Professional Meeting and will be paid at the regular rate.

  • Shared Leave The purpose of the leave sharing program is to permit state employees, at no significantly increased cost to the State, of providing leave to come to the aid of another state employee who has been called to service in the uniformed services, who is responding to a state of emergency anywhere within the United States declared by the federal or state government, who is a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking, or who is suffering from or has a relative or household member suffering from an extraordinary or severe illness, injury, impairment, or physical or mental condition, which has caused or is likely to cause the employee to take leave without pay or terminate his or her employment. For purposes of the leave sharing program, the following definitions apply:
