In making application for leave of absence for Union business, it is understood that the application will be in writing and in the hands of the Director or designate at least five (5) working days prior to the commencement of such leave of absence. Where leave of absence for Union business is requested, it is understood that the Union will not request leave of absence for more than six (6) employeesat any one time. In the event that a replacement Member is used to cover release time described above, the cost of the replacement Member shall be reimbursed by the Union. ARTICLE UNION LEAVE. An employee elected or appointed to a full-time position with the Union shall be granted up to one (1) year off, without loss of seniority. All hours while on such leave will be considered equivalent to regular hours worked and paid by the Company.   • Local Union Leave Upon written request, leave of absence without pay shall be granted to employees for Union business in accordance with the following provisions:

  • Union Leave (a) Upon receiving a written request at least one (1) week in advance from the Union, the Company will grant leave of absence for not more than two (2) employees at any one time to attend Union conferences, conventions, or workshops, providing that the combined leaves of absence will not exceed forty (40) working days in any one (1) calendar year.   • Trade Union Training Leave (a) Subject to all qualifications in this clause, an employee appointed or elected as an accredited representative of the union to which he/she belongs will, upon application in writing to the Enterprise, be granted up to 5 days leave with pay each calendar year non-cumulative to attend courses conducted or approved by the Union.

  • Full-Time Union Leave Upon application by the Union, in writing, the Company will grant leave of absence, without pay, to an employee elected or appointed to full-time Union position. It is understood that not more than one (1) employee in the bargaining unit may be on such leave at the same time. Seniority and service shall accumulate during the full term of such leave.

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part- time employees who are elected to or appointed to the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario subject to the following limitations:

  • Federation Leave A leave of absence for the president and a second position of the Federation shall be granted to any employee covered by this Agreement upon application by the Federation for the purpose of the employee serving as an officer of the Federation. The District shall continue to pay such employee(s) and provide benefits, with the exception of leave benefits, but will be reimbursed by the Federation for the cost of salary and fringe benefits.   • Shared Leave The purpose of the leave sharing program is to permit state employees, at no significantly increased cost to the State, of providing leave to come to the aid of another state employee who has been called to service in the uniformed services, who is responding to a state of emergency anywhere within the United States declared by the federal or state government, who is a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking, or who is suffering from or has a relative or household member suffering from an extraordinary or severe illness, injury, impairment, or physical or mental condition, which has caused or is likely to cause the employee to take leave without pay or terminate his or her employment. For purposes of the leave sharing program, the following definitions apply:
