ARTICLE UNION LEAVE. An employee who is elected or selected for a full-time position with the Union shall be granted Leave of Absence for a period of up to one calendar year. Upon the request of Local such leave shall be renewed or extended by the Board for a period of time not exceeding one additional calendar year. The employee shall receive pay and benefits as provided in this Agreement, but the Union shall reimburse the Board for all pay and benefits during the period of absence. Except by mutual agreement, no more than one employee from Local shall be on Leave of Absence for a full-time Union position. Upon request, in writing, to the designated Superintendent or designate, employees appointed or elected by the Union to represent Local at Union conventions or workshops shall be permitted, after receiving authorization from the designated Superintendent or designate, to attend such convention or workshop. This authorization shall not be arbitrarily withheld. The Union shall reimburse the Board for all wages and benefits paid to the employee by the Board during such leave. No more than five (5) members may be away at any one time unless otherwise agreed to by the parties to this Agreement.
ARTICLE UNION LEAVE. The Employer agrees that any full-time officer of the Union will not lost their with the Employer while on leave of absence for purpose of performing their duties as officers of the Union. On retirement from such office, they may return to the service of the Employer. The Employer agrees that where permission has been granted to job stewards, Union executive members or other representatives, to leave their employment temporarily for the purpose of collective bargaining with the Employer, or for the purpose of settling a grievance as outlined in Article the said members shall suffer no loss of pay for the time so spent. Officers of the Union may be granted short leaves of absence without pay for other Union business insofar as the operation of the Employer will permit. Such leave shall be given precedence over any other applications for leave on the same day. It is agreed that all collective bargaining will be carried out on behalf of the Union by a bargaining committee, of which not more than three (3) employees shall suffer no loss of pay for the time so spent. The Employer will pay regular straight time pay for any seven and one-half hour shift which the employee is unable to work by reason of attendance at negotiation meetings between the Union and the Employer Neither the Union nor the Employer will pay any overtime the said bargaining meetings go beyond seven and one-half (74) hours and/or beyond the normally scheduled end of that employee's shift, with the exception of where an employee is scheduled to work overtime, then the Employer shall pay to the employee an amount equal to the overtime the employee would have earned. With regard to part-time employees, the Employer will pay regular straight time for any shift they were scheduled to work or would have been scheduled to work by reason of seniority and which they were unable to work by reason of their attendance at negotiation meetings between the Union and the Employer.
ARTICLE UNION LEAVE. Further to Article the Hospital may grant leaves of absence without pay for up to an aggregate total for all leaves of fifty (50) days during each calendar year. Such leaves may be granted to not more than three (3) employees at any time and to not more than one (Ie)mployee from the same area. The Hospital shall not contribute to the payment of fringe benefits past the end of the month in which the leave of absence began. The employee's anniversary date shall be adjusted and vacation entitlement in the current year shall be reduced according to the time absent on leave. However, if she is enrolled in and Extended Health Care, she may arrange to prepay the entire premiums during her leave of absence to avoid the transfer out and in. Coverage under the Group Life Plan may be maintained for a maximum of six (6) months by prepayment of the premium
ARTICLE UNION LEAVE. The Corporation may grant leave of absence to employees to attend Union conventions, seminars, educational classes or other union business. In making application for leave of absence for union business, it is understood that the leave of absence shall be for no longer than a two (2) week period and will not be requested on more than two (2) occasions in one (1) calendar year. When leave of absence for union business is requested, it is understood that the Union will not request leave of absence for more than one (1) employee at one time, and that the Union shall be responsible for the payment of wages during the of absence. When employees are on leave of absence requested by the Union, the Corporation will pay the regular salary to the employee and invoice the Union for the employee's lost time. If the Corporation so wishes, it may invoice the Union in advance of the leave of absence by invoicing the Union at the time the leave of absence is granted in writing, and the Union will pay said invoice within seven (7) days of receipt of same. In addition to the leave of absence set out above, members of the Union Executive Board Council employed by the Hospital will be entitled to an additional cumulative leave of absence, without pay, not to exceed ten (10) days per contract year, subject to the conditions set out above, for the purpose of attending Executive Council meetings. Such leave may be approved if it does not interfere with the of the department concerned.
ARTICLE UNION LEAVE. The Employershallgrant leave ofabsence to employeesto attend Unionconventions, seminars,educationalclasses or other Union business as requested by the local or national Union. In making application for leave of absence for Union business, it is understood that the application will be in writing and in the hands of the Director or designate at least five (5) working days prior to the commencement of such leave of absence. Where leave of absence for Union business is requested, it is understood that the Union will not request leave of absence for more than six (6) employeesat any one time. Such release time shall be Without loss of wages or benefits. In the event that a replacement Member is used to cover release time described above, the cost of the replacement Member shall be reimbursed by the Union. Any education leave, as legislated or as required by the Employer as a term of employment, shall be paid by the Employer and the employee shall not lose wages or benefits while on this educational leave.
ARTICLE UNION LEAVE. The Employer, upon four (4) weeks written notice from the Union shall grant a leave of absence to employees appointed by the Union to attend Union business for an aggregate of thirty (30) calendar days in a calendar year (excluding any leave under Articles and 18.03) providing the granting of such leave does not unduly interfere with the efficient operations of the Employer, and that no more than two (2) employees shall request such leave at any one time employee so elected. A leave of absence shall be granted from the employee's place of employment for the duration of the current term of office. In the event that a leave under is granted to an employee in classifications of Psychologist, Speech Pathologist and Occupational Therapist, the Employer shall be entitled to declare the position vacant and fill the vacancy utilizing Article The Union shall reimburse the Employer the amounts paid on behalf of employees, including pay and benefits, for any leave granted under Article or

ARTICLE UNION LEAVE. The Employer shall grant leaves of absence to employees to attend Union conventions, seminars, education classes or other Union business. The Union agrees that such leave will not unduly affect the proper operations of the Nursing Home. In requesting such leave of absence, the Union must give twenty-one (21 days clear written notice to the Employer, to be confirmed by the Union in writing. It is understood and agreed that where such leave of absence for attendance at Union schools and conventions is granted, the Employer will continue to pay the for the period of the leave of absence and then submit an account to the Union for the wages together with any other administrative costs.
ARTICLE UNION LEAVE. An employee elected or appointed to a full-time position with the Union shall be granted up to one (1) year off, without loss of seniority. All hours while on such leave will be considered equivalent to regular hours worked and paid by the Company. Thereto, the Company will make normal contributions towards the Dental, Extended Health and Pension benefit plans on behalf of the employee. The Union will reimburse the Company the full cost including wages, contributions to the Plans, Employer Health tax, premiums, Premiums and the like.
