BEREAVEMENT LEAVE AND JURY DUTY. 14.1 In the event of a death in the employee’s immediate family (i.e., parent, spouse, child, siblings, grandparents and grandchildren) the employee shall receive (3) paid days off to be used for the purpose of bereavement within thirty (30) days of the date of the death of the employee’s immediate family.
14.2 In the event of a death of the employee’s aunt or uncle, or a death in the employee’s spouse’s family (i.e., mother/father-in-law, sister/brother-in-law, and aunts/uncles) the employee shall receive one (1) day off and shall be paid lost time due to such absence.
14.3 An employee may be required to submit proof of death and/or that the deceased was within the class of relatives specified.
14.4 An employee who has completed his probationary period and who is required to report to court to answer a jury summons or serve as a juror on days he is regularly scheduled to work will be reimbursed the difference between the amount he receives for jury service and his regular pay. Jury Duty pay shall be limited to two (2) weeks in any year. No employee may be required to work on a day he has jury duty.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE AND JURY DUTY. 15.01 In case of a death in the immediate family of an employee, the Company shall grant leave of absence with pay, not to exceed 3 days at the employees’ normal straight time hourly rate, as may be necessary for the purpose of attending the funeral and making funeral arrangements, providing the 3 days fall within the employee’s normal work week. Immediate family shall be meant to include mother, father, brother, sister, spouse, common-law spouse, children, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchildren, step-family, grandparents, same sex partner, brother-in-law and sister-in-law. In the event the funeral is out of the country, up to 5 days will be granted.
15.02 The Company shall pay to any employee, who may be required to serve as a juror in any court of law in the Country in which he/she resides, the difference between the amount received for such service and the amount the employee would have received had he/she worked at his/her normal straight time hourly rate, provided that such employee shall return to work each day immediately upon being discharged from jury duty where practical. The employee may be required to present written proof that he/she was required and did serve as a juror during the period for which he/she is requesting his/her pay.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE AND JURY DUTY. 1. Bereavement Leave - Regular full-time employees, and part-time employees who regularly work forty (40) hours or more per pay period, upon completion of the probationary period, shall be entitled to paid leave as follows:

An employee shall be granted a maximum of four (4) regularly scheduled work days leave, without loss of pay or benefits in the case of death of a parent (guardian or stepparent), spouse, law spouse) or child (stepchild) and three (3) regularly scheduled work days leave, without loss of pay or benefits in the case of death of a brother, sister, parent-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandparents, which includesspouses', or grandchildren.. At the Company's request, the employee may be required to substantiate validity of claim for bereavement leave, i.e. relationship to employee, etc. Bereavementleave is not compensablewhen the employee is on leave of absence, bona fide lay-off or annual vacation. Upon givingtwenty-four (24) hours notice, an employee shall be granted time off without pay for the purpose of attending a funeral, provided that the granting of such time off shall not be inconsistent with the efficient operation of the business. Such time off shall not be unreasonably denied. Any Regular Full-time or Part-time employee who is required to performjury duty, or is required to appear as a witness in a Court action, will be reimbursed by the Company for the difference between the pay received for jury duty, or witness fee, at his regular straight time hourly rate of pay for his regular scheduled hours of work. It is understood that such reimbursement shall not exceed seven and one-half (7%) hours per day and shall not exceed thirty-seven and one-half (37%) hours per week for hourly paid employees. All such pay shall have deducted from it all pay received duty or witness fee, whichever applies. The employee will be required to furnish proof of jury service or witness attendance and jury duty pay or witness fee received. Any employee on jury duty, or called as a witness, or called for jury duty selection, shall, subject to this provision, make himself available for work providedthe witness duty, jury duty selection or jury duty performed on any given day allows him time to report for work before his regular is In any case the employee will be allowed eight (8) free hours before being requiredto attend for jury duty, jury selection orwitness. If and when the employee is required to appear as a witness, performjury duty or appear for jury selection and those functions take a full day, the employee will not be required to report for duty until having had a full eight (8) hours off duty.

In case of the death of a parent, step-parent, spouse, common law spouse, child, step-child, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, GRANDCHILD, or grandparent of an employee, the Company will compensate such employee for the time lost up to a maximum of five (5) consecutive regular working days at straight time rate of pay from the time of death; In the case of the death of an employee's brother-in- law or sister-in-law, the employee will be granted three (3) days leave from time of death with a maximum of one working day with pay. In the event of a death in the immediate family of an employee covered by the Agreement, the Hospital agrees to grant time off and to make up the employee's regular pay (computed at the employee's straight time rate and excluding or other premiums). The number of days for which the employee will be paid will be limited to a maximum of three (3). The calculation of the number of days for which an employee will be paid will be the day following the death of the member of the immediate family and up to and including the day of the funeral. When an employee is notified at work of a death in his immediate he shall receive full pay for that day. The following day shall be considered to be the day of bereavementleave. When a memorial service is to be held for a member of the immediate family, an employee may use one of the days in the above article in order to attend the service. The employee must their immediate supervisor at the time of death.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE AND JURY DUTY. 14.01 When death occurs to a member of a Regular Employee's immediate family, the Employee will be granted upon request, an appropriate leave of absence and shall be compensated at that Employee's regular straight time hourly rate for hours lost from the Employee's regular schedule on the three (3) working days. The Employee will be allowed to schedule these three (3) days consecutively within the ten calendar days immediately following the date of such death. Employees will be required to notify their immediate supervisor or higher authority at their location to request Bereavement Leave. However, should the Employee be unable to do so due to the management personnel being unavailable (e.g. weekends or after normal work hours), notification will be made at the time the office opens on the first work day following the date of death. If the day of death is a normal working day and the Employee receives notification of the death after the commencement of their shift, the Employee will be paid for the balance of such shift. Provided the Employee attends the funeral and that day is one other than the three (3) working days immediately following the day of death, the Employee shall be compensated at the Employee's regular straight time hourly rate for hours lost from the Employee's regular schedule on the day of the funeral. Members of the Employee's immediate family are defined as the Employee's spouse, mother, father, sons and daughters, sisters, brothers, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchildren, Employee's grandfather, grandmother and the Employee's spouse's grandfather, grandmother. Step-father or step-mother will be recognized provided such stepfather or step-mother had the status of the Employee's father or mother. For purposes of interpretation, "spouse" includes common-law. Mother and father of common-law spouse are considered to be "mother-in-law" and "father-in-law." NOTE: (The "spouse" of the Employee shall be defined as the spouse on record with the Employer's Personnel Department). The Employer may require an Employee to provide proof of death of a member of the immediate family. Such proof will include place and date of death.
14.02 Any Regular full-time Employee who is required to appear in the selection process for jury duty or to perform jury duty, or is required to appear as a witness in a court action resulting from an incident which directly involved the Employee and the Employer during the Employee's regular work day, will be reimbursed...

BEREAVEMENT LEAVE AND JURY DUTY. 18.01 The Company shall pay an employee, who has completed their probationary period, up to three consecutive days for shifts missed immediately following the the death of the employee's current spouse, father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, and a child in guardianship residing with the employee, mother/father-in-law, grandparent and grandchild. Payment will be at the employee’s straight time hourly rate. An employee is not entitled to receive pay for Saturday or Sunday.
18.02 When a death occurs to a regular full-time employee’s sister-in-law or brother-in-law the employee, on request will be excused from work on the day of the funeral and will receive their regular pay for that day.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE AND JURY DUTY. 19.01 In the event of the death of any of the following relatives; Son, Daughter, Step-Child, Spouse, Father, Mother, an employee will be entitled to five (5) working days off with pay, one of those days must be the day of the funeral. In the event of the death of any of the following relatives; Father-in-Law, Mother-in-Law, Brother, Sister, Grandson, Grand-daughter, an employee will be entitled to three (3) working days off with pay, one of those days must be the day of the funeral. Company agrees to pay eight (8) hours at the regular hourly rate of the employee for each of the working days lost as a result of the death. In the case of Grandmother, Grandfather, Brother-in-Law, Sister-in-Law, a maximum of one (1) working day shall apply.
19.02 In the event that an employee is called upon to perform jury duty, for each working day, up to a maximum of ten (10) days, the employee performs such duty the Company agrees to pay the difference between the money paid for such duty and the amount of the employee's regular rate of pay for an eight (8) hour day. The appropriate pay records from the courts must be produced before any remuneration is made to the employee.
