It is agreed that the professional duties of employees require both on-site and off-site 8 hours of work, that the varying nature of such professional duties may not lend itself 9 to a total maximum daily work time of definite or uniform length, and that such duties 10 are normally expected to involve no fewer than eight (8) hours of total effort each 11 workday for both classroom and non-classroom employees. 12 13 It is further agreed that employees will be available to meet with students and parents 14 at reasonable times before and after the instructional day. A schedule shall be posted 15 prominently and maintained at each school site and posted on the school’s website 16 and the District approved learning management system teacher’s page and counselor’s 17 page indicating times when teachers are available to meet with parents and/or students. 18 Counselors will have one (1) day per week scheduled without supervision for 19 conferring with parents and/or students. Copies of the schedule shall be sent home to 20 parents twice a year. 21
22 2. In the elementary schools, teachers shall report for duty and check their mailboxes and 24 assigned before school duties. Teachers shall remain until after the close of the last 25 scheduled class of the day for Grades 4 and 5, unless they have an after school duty, 26 are excused earlier or are requested to remain by the principal. On Fridays, teachers 27 may leave the building immediately upon the close of the regular school day for pupils 28 except that if District meetings are scheduled on Friday another "early day" may be 29 designated. Teachers of kindergarten (“Kindergarten” includes transitional 30 kindergarten, as defined in Education Code Section 48000) and the first three grades 31 remain on duty as long as teachers of the fourth and fifth grades, unless excused earlier 32 by the principal.

Days and Hours of Employment. The days and hours of employment shall be assigned by the Superintendent or Supervisor and shall coincide with the school year calendar and be met by the Employee. Employee shall not accrue overtime without prior written permission from the superintendent.
Days and Hours of Employment. 18 The regular workday hours and/or assigned days of an employee being placed in a new or vacant 19 position will be scheduled by the Superintendent or designee and announced by job vacancy notice.

A. Unit members assigned to work 6 hours per day, but have students for part day may be assigned to these duties during their regularly scheduled 6 hour shift after their student day ends. With prior approval of the supervisor, any time after their regularly scheduled 6 hour shift, unit members will be compensated at their regular hourly rate of pay.
B. Unit members who are assigned to work 6 to 8 hours per day, but have students full day may be assigned to these duties after their shift and be paid at their hourly rate of pay. Anything above and beyond the extra six hours must be approved by their supervisor. With prior approval of the supervisor, a teacher who has a prior commitment during these hours may arrange a substitute to cover their classroom to enable them to fulfill these duties. Teachers are expected to attend one monthly staff meeting.
8.3 All time during which a unit member is directed and authorized by the immediate supervisor to be on duty and to perform services shall be considered as time worked.
8.3.1 Unit members with supervisor’s approval may work flexible hours within a 40-hour work week.
8.4 Overtime is defined as time worked over 40 hours per week.
8.5 Whenever unit members are directed and authorized to work overtime, such unit members shall receive overtime compensation for actual time worked at a rate equivalent to one and one half (1 1/2) times the unit members regular rate of pay.
