Extra Duty Work. All extra duty work (catering or non-school jobs) will be assigned by the Food Service Director to those individuals who have signed up for extra duty work. A sign up sheet will be available in the Supervisor’s office. Criteria used for rotation or distribution of extra duty work will be as follows: minimize overtime, skills and experience of the employee, building that the event is held in, type of event, and familiarity with the event. Work will be distributed as evenly as possible among interested employees, but not necessarily on a straight rotation basis. In the event all Employees decline the Jobs offered, management may assign the Job to the lowest seniority Employee or a non-Group person who is skilled and has the ability to perform said job. Employees working Banquets and Jobs will be paid their normal pay step. After forty (40) hours per week, they will be paid at time and a half (1½).
Extra Duty Work. A. A licensed Educational Interpreter who is called/scheduled to work on a day, Monday through Friday, that would otherwise be a non-work day for that Licensed Educational Interpreter shall be guaranteed a minimum of three (3) hours work on such day and shall be compensated for such hours worked.
B. Extra Duty pay will begin when the assignment is scheduled to start.
C. Extra Duty pay will continue until the assignment is scheduled to end, when minimum hours are satisfied, or until the work is finished whichever is the longest time. (If the student/staff member does not show up the minimum hours, as stated in 34.03-A, will supersede this)
D. When the Interpreter Coordinator determines that continuous intensive interpreting is required for an extended period of more than 2 hours, he/she will after consultation with and the approval of the supervisor assign two interpreters. Both will be paid for the full-time.
E. When the interpreter on an assignment is transported by DPS, its authorized agent, or in a vehicle provided and/or paid for by DPS or its authorized agent; travel time will be considered duty time and paid for in the same manner as all Extra Duty.
F. When an interpreter is required to go from one duty location to another during the normal work day or for Extra Duty assignments; and, are required to provide their own transportation, mileage will be paid at the going rate.
Extra Duty Work. Section 1. Off-duty employees hired for public safety services at public events shall be paid at their regular base hourly rate of pay for all hours worked. All hours worked in this capacity shall be considered hours actually worked for purposes of computing overtime in that work period.
Section 2. All extra duty work shall be by SFFR rules and regulations.
Section 3. Employees working extra duty shall be under the direction of SFFR management.
Section 4. The City retains the right to require an employee to work extra duty after making a reasonable effort to obtain a qualified volunteer.

Extra Duty Work. Section 12.1 Whenever any person or organization shall seek the services of employees of
Extra Duty Work. Extra duty is defined as non-instructional supervision of students such as bus duty, lunchroom duty, hall duty, recess duty, etc. In August of each year, the building administrator will provide unit members employed at that building with a list of assigned extra duties. Included with the list will be a statement that defines the responsibilities of the duty. Teachers may exchange duty assignments between or among themselves, but must notify the building administrator. Duties and responsibilities of teachers shall be made known primarily through the Teachers’ Manual which is issued to each teacher at the beginning of the school term. All teaching positions, including normal extra duties, are a part of the regular teaching contract. These include meetings called by the Superintendent and/or principals as well as equally assigned supervisory assignments. These duties do not include supplemental contracts. Whenever a teacher is assigned to teach in a new room, the teacher shall be compensated at the rate of one-half day of their per diem rate to prepare their new classroom. (The move must be made on a non-school day to be compensated.)
Extra Duty Work. SECTION 1: No member of the unit may accept extra duty work in the capacity of a police officer except as hereinafter provided.
SECTION 2: All extra-duty work requests shall be submitted to the Prevention Services Division Manager or the officer in charge who shall allocate all approved extra-duty assignments on the basis of Bargaining Unit seniority. A Bargaining Unit duty roster will be posted indicating the distribution of past extra-duty worked or declined and the next eligible name. Assignment of extra-duty work shall not be denied arbitrarily or capriciously.
SECTION 3: All extra-duty contractual arrangements will be between the City and the outside person or establishment requesting such extra-duty work, and payment shall be made by the outside person or establishment directly to the City. Rates charged by the City for extra-duty work will be established by the City.
a. Officers working extra duty work will be paid a minimum of $47.00 per hour.
b. Officers scheduled to work will receive a minimum of three (3) hours pay except for the period l2:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. for which the Officer will receive a minimum of four (4) hours pay, regardless of time worked in either instance.
SECTION 5: Issued equipment as defined in Article XIII, Sections 1 and 2 can be used by the Union member to perform extra-duty work within the City of South Burlington.
SECTION 6: City equipment other than personal issue may be used by the extra-duty Officer with the approval of the Chief of Police.
SECTION 7: Extra-duty Officers acting in a Police capacity, whether in or out of uniform, will still be entitled to all of the coverage that is provided for them while on duty. For purposes of this Article, the language, "in the capacity of a Police Officer" or "acting in a Police capacity" shall mean, "for the purposes of, or while engaged in the enforcement of State and/or Municipal laws".
SECTION 8: No employee will perform extra-duty work in excess of four (4) hours in the twelve (12) hour period immediately preceding the start of his/her shift assignment. If an employee's name is next on the extra-duty work list and it conflicts with his/her shift assignment, the extra-duty work will be offered to the next name on the list. Section 8 will also apply when the employee cannot be contacted when off duty.
