INSERVICE CREDIT. 14.9.1 When no other funding, comp time or release time is available, the District Inservice credit of one (1) unit for thirty (30) hours of inservice shall be granted, or one (1) day of sick leave credit if the teacher is on Column VII of the salary schedule or is an hourly Adult School teacher. Such inservice credit shall be provided for teachers who provide the following services beyond the duty day: a) Attending meetings for parent orientation and other evening meetings. b) Serving on Site and District committees. c) Giving a major presentation that requires extra preparation for Staff Development Day. d) Attending meetings beyond normal Wednesday staff meetings, department/grade level meetings, or collaboration meetings. 14.9.2 Prior approval must be granted by the site administrator or conveners before any of these credits are committed. All credits must be documented by the site administrator or convener on the District In-service forms. Credit for other service not noted herein may be granted by the Human Resources Certificated Administrator if a request is submitted two (2) weeks prior to a meeting and countersigned by the appropriate convener or administrator. 14.9.3 Teachers who are required to attend IEP and Student Study Team (SST) meetings and Special Education teachers who do case management, assessments, report writing or develop IEP's beyond the duty day, shall be provided one (1) inservice credit for every fifteen (15) hours of service or one (1) day of sick leave credit if the teacher is on Column VII of the salary schedule or is an hourly Adult School teacher. 14.9.4 Early Childhood Education teachers who are not covered by Section 14.8 may be provided one (1) day of sick leave for each fifteen (15) hours of: a) State required health and safety courses, and b) State approved administrative courses or other training pre- approved by the District. To receive the credit, the teacher must have the courses approved in advance by the Human Resources Certificated Administrator.

INSERVICE CREDIT. A. Inservice programs offered by the Brushton-Moira Central School or by the Teachers’ Centers will lead to advancement on the salary schedule for those teachers who successfully complete the program. Creditable completion of ten (10) class hours will equal one (1) graduate credit hour. No similar inservice course may be used for credit more than once. B. Other inservice programs may qualify for graduate credit. C. To be eligible for credit a teacher must receive prior approval from the Superintendent of Schools. D. Upon submission of evidence of completion from the institution and approval by the Superintendent of Schools, credit may be granted for courses completed since 1984. E. If a dispute arises over the offering or granting of credit for an inservice course, such dispute shall be resolved by a committee of four appointees, two by the President of the Teachers’ Association and two by the Superintendent of Schools.
INSERVICE CREDIT. Approved in-service credit will be added to a teacher’s base salary at the rate of $34.00 for 15 hours of inservice.
INSERVICE CREDIT. Upon recommendation of the Professional Development Office, a maximum of ten semester hours of inservice credit (i.e. noncollege or non-university credit) may be used toward any one lane advancement on the salary schedule.

In-service credit from West Aurora University shall be credited without regard to the foregoing limitations. In-service work with no specified number of credits shall be evaluated by the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning or designee of said course, program or institute and an estimate of the number of credits worth of study shall be, upon approval of the Assistant Superintendent, entered as duly credited on the salary schedule. In-service programs to be planned after the effective date of this Agreement shall involve consultation with the district Professional Development Committee or other appropriate committee.
INSERVICE CREDIT. Inservice credit is defined as credit hours approved for use toward salary adjustment by the District Superintendent and Board of Education other than credit received from a college or university. Unit members (except teaching assistants, certified occupational therapy assistants, and physical therapy assistants) attending approved courses shall have the choice of receiving a per approved clock hour rate of $17, in a one-time payroll payment or one (1) hour of graduate credit as defined in Articles 5.3 and 5.4. Enrollments and number of offerings may be limited by the Board. Teaching assistants, certified occupational therapy assistants, and physical therapist assistants are eligible to participate, on a release time basis, in inservice programs offered by the BOCES during the normal workday. Teaching assistants, certified occupational therapy assistants, and physical therapist assistants are eligible to participate in BOCES approved inservice programs offered on non-work time on an overtime pay basis. (All other unit members are eligible for inservice credit or approved clock hour payments pursuant to this article.)

INSERVICE CREDIT. An employee may become eligible for premium pay by earning credits through approved inservice courses. In order to receive credit, prior approval must be obtained by sending a request to the Chapter President or his/her designee who will review the requests, make recommendations, and forward the information to the Human Resources Department, which shall determine the number of credit hours to be awarded. Normally, eight (8) contact hours will constitute one (1) credit. Evidence of satisfactory completion of the course(s) shall be required. Employees may attend other District in-service activities related to their assignment and duties if approved by their supervisor. After five (5) credits have been earned, employees shall receive an additional hourly premium of twenty-five cents (25¢), effective July 1 of the following year. Employees currently receiving the inservice credit shall continue to receive it at the current rate. All awards earned shall be compensated at the rate of twenty-five cents (25¢) per hour. The total premium shall not exceed $1.80 per hour. Employee working in the Bookkeeper and Accounting Clerk I positions shall receive additional hourly pay in education credit for relevant degrees as follows, providing copies of transcripts: AA Degree; $.45 BA or BS Degree; $.90 Employees in these classification are still eligible to receive additional inservice credit as outlined above.
