Leave and Absences all time away from work is to be approved by the employee’s immediate supervisor in writing at least one week in advance of the leave. With exception of Xxxxxxxxxxx Leave Article 20.02, where the supervisor may exercise discretion, all leaves of absence shall be without pay.
Leave and Absences. 1. If a teleworker needs to use leave on a telework day, the teleworker must request leave and obtain supervisor approval in advance.
2. If a teleworker needs to use leave for sudden emergency reasons (e.g., pick up a sick child from school or take a family member to the hospital), the employee must notify supervisor of the emergency and comply with office procedures for requesting leave.
3. If a teleworker is unable to telework because the approved telework location has become unusable due to a non-emergency situation (e.g. connectivity issues), the employee must report to the official duty station or request leave. A 100 percent teleworker may make arrangements with her or his supervisor and local managers to report to a local NARA facility, if available; otherwise, a 100 percent teleworker must request leave.
Leave and Absences. 7.1 The Secondees shall continue to be eligible for sick pay, holiday pay and any absence entitlements in accordance with their Employment Contracts and shall remain subject to the Trust’s approval and notification procedures.
7.2 Prior to the Commencement Date, or the date of Secondment for new starters, the Trust shall notify the Council of any leave dates for the Secondees which have been requested and approved prior to the Commencement Date, or prior to the date of Secondment for any new starters.
7.3 During the Secondment Period the Secondees shall continue to submit all leave requests to the Trust for approval and shall at the same time notify the Council of making such leave request. The Trust shall consult with and obtain agreement of the Council before approving any leave request made by a Secondee and, once approved, the Trust will notify (and shall procure that the relevant Secondee shall also notify) the Council of any approved leave dates.
7.4 The Secondees will be required to continue to report any unplanned leave or absence to the Trust as per the Trust’s notification procedures but shall also be required to notify the Council at the same time. The Trust shall inform the Council of any absence notified to it by a Secondee as soon as reasonably practicable.

1. A permanent full-time employee shall earn sick leave credits from the first day of employment. For calculating sick leave credits, 2,080 hours (52 weeks x 40 hours) equals 1 year. Xxxx leave credits shall be credited at the end of each pay period. Xxxx leave credits shall be earned at the rate of 12 working days for each year of service without restriction as to the number of working days that may be accumulated. Employees are not entitled to be paid sick leave until they have been continuously employed 90 days. Seasonal leaves or any other unpaid leaves of absences that may begin during the initial 90 day qualifying employment period; will extend the 90 day period. The time spent on the leave of absence greater than one week in length will not count toward completion of the 90 days of the initial qualifying employment period. The 90 day initial qualifying employment period will resume when an employee starts back to work.
2. An employee may not accrue sick leave while in a leave without pay status.
3. Permanent part-time employees are entitled to prorated leave benefits if they have worked the qualifying period.
4. Full-time temporary and seasonal permanent employees are entitled to sick leave benefits provided they work the qualifying period.
5. A short-term worker may not earn sick leave credits.
6. An employee who terminates employment with the agency is entitled to a lump-sum payment equal to one-fourth of the pay attributed to the accumulated sick leave. The pay attributed to the accumulated sick leave shall be computed on the basis of the employee's salary or wage at the time he/she terminated his/her employment with the state, county, or city.
7. An employee who receives a lump sum payment pursuant to this section and who is again employed by any agency may not be credited with any sick leave for which the employee has previously been compensated.
8. Abuse of sick leave is cause for dismissal and forfeiture of the lump-sum payments provided for in this section.
9. A local government may establish and administer through local rule a sick leave fund into which its employees may contribute a portion of their accumulated sick leave.
Leave and Absences. (1) Teleworkers and remote workers must request leave and obtain supervisor approval in advance for all absences.
(2) If a teleworker or remote worker needs to use leave for sudden emergency reasons (e.g., pick up a sick child from school or take a family member to the hospital), the employee must notify the supervisor of the emergency and comply with office procedures for requesting leave.
(3) A remote worker or teleworker is eligible for weather and safety leave for periods they are unable to work due to an issue with NARA-provided technology or when internet service is disrupted for reasons outside the control of the employee. A teleworker may be required to report to their duty station to fix or replace a laptop or tablet or to work onsite for the duration of a technology-based disruption.
(4) If a teleworker is unable to work because the approved telework location has become unusable for a non-emergency reason other than an issue with NARA technology or internet service disruption outside of the control of the employee, the employee must report to their duty station or request personal leave. A remote worker may make arrangements to report to a local NARA facility, if available, or else must request personal leave.
