OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH. 22.01 The Employer will maintain a safe and healthful work place in compliance with all Federal, State and local laws applicable to the safety and health of its employees. 22.02 The Employer shall form a Health and Safety committee composed of employee and Employer representatives. The purpose of the committee shall be to investigate safety and health measures for the workplace and its employees. The committee shall allow for proportionate membership representation of employee groups. Broad-based and persistent health and safety concerns of individual employees or employee groups can be addressed to the Committee if they have not been adequately responded to at the facility or unit level. 22.03 The Employee's Safety and Health committee, and Union representatives to the joint committee, act hereunder exclusively in an advisory capacity. 22.04 The Employer shall provide adequate orientation, training and education for employees who may be routinely exposed to potentially hazardous substances and harmful biological and/or physical agents in their jobs. 22.05 Employees assigned to locations where exposure to ionizing radiation is possible in the course of the work assignment shall be issued a film badge or similar detection device. The Employer will maintain records of employee exposure.
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH. SECTION 1. CDC and CMC shall comply with theOccupational Safety and Health Act of 1970” and all other required legal standards of safety, health and sanitation. Adequate medical and sanitary facilities will be provided and maintained at all times. SECTION 2. Accident records shall be kept and maintained by CDC and CMC and shall be made available on request to the Safety Committee. The “Recording and Reporting of Injuries and Illnesses” shall be as required by the “OSHA of 1970”. Report shall be posted by CDC and CMC at least quarterly. An annual report shall be furnished to the Social Security Department, UAW. SECTION 3. CDC/ CMC agree to maintain a joint Labor-Management Safety Committee. The Committee shall be composed of at least one (1) representative of management, including the safety official, and one (1) representative on the Union for all locations. The Local Union shall select the Union representative. The designated safety representative shall perform the following duties: · Shall, with CDC/ CMC’s safety representative, conduct safety tours of the plant. · Meet with CDC and CMC’s safety representative on a monthly basis to work out solutions to those problems noted on the safety tours or brought to the attention of the safety committee. Time spent on the above, as well as any other time spent on safety matters, shall be compensated for up to twenty (20) hours per week. SECTION 4. CDC, CMC and the Union recognize the importance and desirability of establishing and maintaining a safe working environment and positive safety attitude among all employees. SECTION 5. The Safety Committee may seek the advice, opinion and suggestions of experts, authorities and official agencies. The Union representative thereon shall have the right to call such experts, authorities and official agencies, as well as safety and industrial hygiene representatives of the International Union of the UAW into the plant, and they shall be permitted to make such examinations, investigations and recommendations as shall be reasonably connected with the purpose of the committee. SECTION 6. CDC and CMC agree to inform the Safety Committee of the names and natures of substances used in the plant, exposure to which may be unhealthful or dangerous, and upon request of the Union Safety Representative to reveal the names and natures of any substance or compound used in the plant. OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH. ‌ 29.1 The employees shall be represented by a Shop Xxxxxxx to be selected from their number for the purpose of meeting with the Employer on matters pertaining to heating, lighting, cleanliness and ventilation of the offices and washrooms and keeping the work area in a sanitary and otherwise satisfactory condition. 29.2 Employees required to operate Video Display Terminals shall, at the expense of the Employer, receive an ophthalmologic exam prior to being assigned to such job duties, and annually thereafter.

The employee accompanying the injured member shall be compensated for lost time. A. Where required by law, the Federal “Drug-Free Workplace Act” shall apply. B. OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH. If the Training or any part thereof is to be performed at the Client’s premises, PSTS may complete the workplace Risk Assessment prior to commencing the course. If any risks are identified PSTS will notify the Client immediately to allow adequate time for the Client to be notified and the risk eliminated. The Client shall ensure a safe work environment and PSTS agrees to comply with all applicable occupational safety and health legislation during their engagement with the Principal. OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH. A. The Union and the Board recognize the need to maintain safe conditions throughout the School District. Employees have the responsibility to submit written statements advising their immediate supervisor(s) and the Union President of any perceived unsafe working condition{s). B. The Union President may request a meeting to deal with bargaining unit health and safety issues. Such meeting shall be held within five (5) work days after the request. C. The parties desire to first deal with safety complaints internally to attempt to correct any perceived unsafe working conditions. D. Before exercising the right to refuse to work under Section 4167.06 of the Ohio Revised Code because of a condition which the employee acting in good faith reasonably believes presents an imminent danger of death or serious harm to the employee, the bargaining unit member shall immediately notify his/her immediate supervisor of the condition. The employee may be temporarily reassigned while the condition is being investigated and/or corrected. E. No bargaining unit member shall be in any way discriminated against as a result of reporting any condition perceived to be an unsafe working condition. An employee who wishes to assert a claim of discrimination as defined in Chapter 4167 of the Ohio Revised Code shall use the grievance procedure in this contract as the means for asserting such a claim.

The company at all times will ensure compliance with its obligations under the WHS Act. 15.1.2 The Company is accredited to the following Australian standards: i. AS/NZS 45001:2018 (Safety); and ii. AS/NZS ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Assurance). 15.1.3 All Employee's must comply with the requirements of these accreditations as directed and advised by the Company to ensure that certification continues and the Company continuously improves and continuously reduces the risk of its operations.
