PERSONAL AND BEREAVEMENT LEAVE. (1) Each full-time Employee shall be allowed two (2) personal days without loss of pay during the work year which shall be accumulative from year to year to a maximum of five (5) days. Any personal days in excess of five (5) days shall be added to the employee’s accumulated sick leave.
(2) Requests for a personal day shall be submitted in writing to their Program Director at least five (5) work days in advance of the leave.
(3) Requests shall be honored on a first come, first served basis.
PERSONAL AND BEREAVEMENT LEAVE. Section 1. Each employee shall be granted up to three (3) days of personal leave with pay each contract year to attend to personal business matters which require the employee's absence during working hours. Personal leave used by an employee shall be charged to his/her accumulated sick leave. Unused personal leave up to the maximum provided for in this section for each employee shall be transferred to the sick leave bank at the end of each contract year. The transfer of personal leave to the sick leave bank shall not be charged to any other leave. Except in the case of emergency, at least one (1) day’s advance approval by the Association is required for an employee to take personal leave. No explanation as to the purpose of such leave shall be required.
Section 2. Each employee shall, in addition to the leave provided in Section 1 above, be granted up to three (3) days of bereavement leave in the event of a death of a member of the employee's immediate family. Any additional bereavement leave days may be charged to sick leave. In addition to the leave provided above, one day leave shall be granted for funerals in case of death of other family members or close friends.

Section 2: All full-time employees shall receive five (5) days paid bereavement leave in the event of the death of their spouse, child, parents, brother or sister. All employees shall receive three (3) days paid leave in the event of the death of their grandparent, grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in- law, son-in-law, or daughter-in-law, niece, nephew, uncle or aunt. Such leave described in this section shall be separate and distinct from any other leave time.
PERSONAL AND BEREAVEMENT LEAVE.
15.1 The parties to this Agreement are committed to ensuring that the employer remains an effective and efficient deliverer of services. Accordingly, the employee undertakes to only use personal leave in genuine circumstances. The employee acknowledges that the employer may take appropriate action to remedy situations where the employer suspects that the employee’s absence is not due to valid reasons.
15.2 Paid personal leave is available to the employee when they are absent: • due to personal illness or injury (sick leave); or • for the purposes of caring for an immediate family or household member who is sick and requires the employee's care and support (xxxxx's leave).
15.3 The amount of personal leave to which the employee is entitled depends on how long they have worked for the employer: On commencement 10 On commencement of 2nd and 3rd year of continuous service 10 On commencement of 4th and subsequent years 12
15.4 Personal leave may accrue to a maximum of 260 days.
15.5 The employee is entitled to take up to two days non cumulative paid bereavement leave on any occasion on which a member of the employee’s immediate family or household dies. Xxxxxxxxxxx leave taken is not deducted from the employee’s accrued personal leave.
15.6 The employee is entitled to use up to ten days personal leave each year to care for members of his/her immediate family or household who are sick and require care and support. This entitlement is subject to the employee being responsible for the care and support of the person concerned.
15.7 The entitlement to carer’s or bereavement leave is subject to the person taking the leave being either a member of the employee’s immediate family or a member of the employee’s household.
15.7.1 The term immediate family includes: spouse or partner (including a former spouse, a de facto spouse and a former de facto spouse) of the employee. A de facto spouse means a person who lives with the employee on a bona fide domestic basis; and child or an adult child (including an adopted child, a step child or an ex-nuptial child), parent, grandparent, grandchild or sibling of the employee or spouse of the employee.
15.8 The employee must, if required by the employer, establish by production of a medical/death certificate or statutory declaration the need for personal or bereavement leave.

PERSONAL AND BEREAVEMENT LEAVE. (i) The Superintendent shall be allowed up to three (3) days of personal leave per contract year in order to attend to personal business that cannot otherwise be scheduled during non-work hours. These days shall not accumulate from year to year and shall have no cash redemption value if unused. In the event that this Contract is terminated prior to the conclusion of a contract year, personal days shall be pro-rated based upon that part of the year actually worked.
(ii) The Superintendent shall be allowed bereavement leave of up to five (5) days in the event of the death of a member of her immediate family. The Superintendent shall be allowed bereavement leave of up to one (1) day in the event of the death of a member of her extended family.
(iii) Because the Superintendent’s workday is flexible and frequently extends beyond normal work hours, reasonable time off during the workday for personal reasons or emergencies will be allowed without loss of pay or deduction from personal, sick or vacation leave. SECTION 6: INSURANCE
PERSONAL AND BEREAVEMENT LEAVE. A. Each full time employee of the Road Department shall receive three (3) personal leave days per year with pay.
B. Each full time employee of the Road Department shall be granted leave with pay, not exceeding three (3) days, in the event of death in his immediate family. The term "immediate family" for the purpose of this contract shall include:
1. The employee's grandparent, spouse, child, parents, brother or sister or stepparent.
2. The grandparent, child, parent, brother or sister or stepparent of his/her spouse.
3. A relative living under the same roof.
PERSONAL AND BEREAVEMENT LEAVE. Ms. XXXXX shall be entitled to up to three (3) personal leave days each school year to conduct important business which cannot be accomplished at other times, and up to five (5) days bereavement leave for death in the immediate family. Such leaves are not cumulative and there is no “sell back” under any conditions. In all instances, paid time off benefits will be prorated for a partial year’s service.
PERSONAL AND BEREAVEMENT LEAVE. 1. Xxxxxxx shall be entitled to five (5) days of leave with pay to conduct personal business each year.
2. Upon the death of Xxxxxxx’x spouse or child, Xxxxxxx will be granted leave of four (4) working days without loss of pay. Upon the death of Xxxxxxx’x mother, father, sister, brother,mother-in-law or father-in-law, Xxxxxxx will be granted leave of three (3) working days without loss of pay. Upon the death of a brother-in-law or sister-in-law, Xxxxxxx will be granted leave of two (2) working days without loss of pay.
