PERSONAL BUSINESS ABSENCE. 17.1 Full time employees shall be granted twenty-four (24) hours per year for purposes of personal business. Personal business shall not carry over from one year to another. The College will rely on the individual employee's determination of what constitutes personal business; however, the time of such absences shall be subject to prior supervisory approval. Up to eight (8) hours per year may be used without prior supervisory approval, when the employee determines that travel to work is not safe due to weather conditions.
PERSONAL BUSINESS ABSENCE. Administrators will receive two (2) days each contract year for personal business activities that cannot be handled outside the normal work day. These days may not accumulate beyond the year in which they are received.
PERSONAL BUSINESS ABSENCE. Permanent employees may be allowed up to three (3) days with pay for personal business leave per year in order to conduct business that clearly cannot be done because of regularly assigned working hours. Personal business leave days shall not be cumulative. Approval for personal business leave shall be made by the Director of Maintenance and Crafts. A written request by the employee to the Director of Maintenance and Crafts shall be made at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to such time requested and the reasons completely and adequately stated. The Director of Maintenance and Xxxxxx has the right to refuse any request for personal business leave. In cases of extreme emergency the requirement of the forty-eight (48) hour prior notice will not be necessary. Unused personal business days shall, at the end of the school year, be credited to cumulative sick leave.
PERSONAL BUSINESS ABSENCE a. An Educational Interpreter shall be entitled to earn three (3) paid personal leave days during each year of employment with the Board provided the Educational Interpreter is in active pay status. Unused personal business absence days shall be added annually to accumulated sick leave provided that an Educational Interpreter’s accumulated sick leave shall not exceed 250 days. Members who resign, retire, are discharged or otherwise separate from employment prior to September 15th, December 15, or March 15th or the employment year will be entitled to a prorated portion (one (1), two (2), three (3) days respectively) of the annual personal leave calculated in full day increments. If used leave exceeds the prorated amount, those days exceeding the prorated amount will be deducted from final pay settlement.

Unused personal business days shall, at the end of the school year, be credited to cumulative sick leave.

The teacher shall submit to the Superintendent through the building principal the proper forms as soon as possible before the leave is desired. If a teacher wishes to use a personal day on the day before or after a recognized vacation, it shall count as two (2) personal business days. Days may be granted/approved for compelling and imperative reasons at the discretion of the Superintendent.

Two-Hour Absence (Paid) A unit member may be excused from duty subject to the approval of the supervisor for personal business for up to two (2) hours in any workday without loss of pay. For unit members working less than six (6) hours, the two (2) hours shall be reduced proportionately.

Personal Business Leave days shall not be used to extend any school-recognized vacation (i.e. Not using the Friday before or the Tuesday after Labor Day to make a four-day vacation, etc.). Days may be granted/approved for compelling and imperative reasons at the discretion of the Superintendent. Unused personal business leave shall be rolled into personal business leave days at the end of the school year up to six (6) days. Any unused personal leave days after six (6) shall be transferred to accumulated sick leave at the end of the school year.
