Speech-Language Pathologists. At the time of employment and subject to (b) above, full credit for speech-language services in a school program shall be given. Full credit for clinical experience as a speech-language pathologist may be given, subject to approval by the Human Resources Division.
Speech-Language Pathologists. A. The recommendations of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association that caseloads not exceed forty (40) students per Speech-Language Pathologist shall be considered when scheduling.
B. The Board will attempt to identify, in advance, those individuals who wish CFY supervision and the Speech-Language Pathologists with ASHA certification to provide this supervision. Principals will be apprised of the availability of this service and arrangements will be made through the appropriate Network Team members. The Speech-Language Pathologists identified to provide this supervision should be given consideration for schedule adjustments.
C. The Speech-Language Pathologists shall not be assigned homeroom duties nor will they act as substitutes in the absence of classroom teachers.
D. The supervision of student clinicians and CFY candidates shall continue to be voluntary.
E. Professional development sessions for Speech-Language Pathologists shall be held during school hours. These sessions shall consist of discipline specific presentations on professional topics, policies and procedures and allow for the exchange of information between and among Speech-Language Pathologists.
F. Speech-Language Pathologists shall be eligible to apply for I.E.P. team chairperson positions.
G. Speech-Language Pathologists shall be provided office space and access to a telephone, copy machine, desk, lockable file cabinets for secure storage of records as required by IDEA. Speech-Language Pathologists shall be provided with access to computers, peripherals, and appropriate software to be used in assessment therapy and administrative processes.
H. The program environment of the Speech-Language Pathologist shall be a private, quiet location in order that students may receive effective therapy in accordance with their IEPs. Every effort shall be made to provide a sufficient number of tables and chairs of appropriate size for students receiving Speech-Language Services.
I. The opportunity to conduct assessments, FAPE services, ESY Treatment Services, special projects, home and hospital services, and infant and toddler services during school, after school, and summer will be offered first to Baltimore City Public Schools Pathologists before being offered to contractual personnel.
J. Speech-Language Pathologists shall be evaluated as Clinical Staff. Clinical skills will only be evaluated by a certified licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. Should the Board organize a committee to review, a...
Speech-Language Pathologists. An annual salary will be paid to full-time Speech Language Pathologists who work on a school year basis. The School Board may schedule hours of work and work schedules and determine duties in the same manner as provided to the School Board vis-à-vis teachers under the School Act. The annualized salary includes all payments (including statutory holidays, vacation, .65%, overtime, gratuity, cartage, etc.). Deductions for unpaid absences will be the same as the calculation used for unpaid absent teachers. The Master’s scale applies to Speech Language Pathologists who have a Master’s in Speech Language Pathology that is equivalent to that obtained at the University of British Columbia.
Speech-Language Pathologists. 21 22 It is agreed that the professional duties of employees require both on-site 23 and off-site hours of work, that the varying nature of such professional 24 duties may not lend itself to a total maximum daily work time of definite or 25 uniform length, and that such duties are normally expected to involve no 26 fewer than eight (8) hours of total effort each workday for both classroom 27 and non-classroom employees. 28 29 The Preschool SLP caseload shall be as stipulated in Education Code 30 56441.7. The District and the Association will review caseloads four (4) 31 times per school year.
Speech-Language Pathologists. 1. Each speech/language pathologist shall be given NEOEA Day and President’s Day as an extended time day in order to write IEPs.
a. If a speech/language pathologist wants to attend an NEOEA Day activity, he/she shall consult with the Director of Pupil Services in order to determine a different extended time day which must be scheduled on a day that is not part of the school calendar.
b. Payment for the extended time shall be made over the course of twenty-six
Speech-Language Pathologists. As a provider of a supportive service, the speech-language pathologist plays a major role in the diagnosis and remediation of speech and language disorders in the students enrolled for such services. The determination of eligibility for the provision of speech and language services is the responsibility of the state approved speech-language pathologist as is the development of the speech and language IEP.
Speech-Language Pathologists. Speech/language pathologists hired by the Employer, with no prior years of experience as a teacher, school speech/language pathologist, military experience or clinical experience shall be placed on step 1 of the salary schedule. Credit for employment as a speech/language pathologist in a public school system shall be allowed up to the maximum number of levels on the teacher’s salary schedule. Credit for clinical experience shall be allowed at a rate of one (1) year for each twelve months continuous service up to a maximum of ten (10) years. Clinical experience shall be defined as full-time employment as a speech/language pathologist in a clinical setting, working under professional licensure from the Department of Professional Regulation (or from another State Licensure Bureau). Credit for combined years of prior experience as a speech/language pathologist in a clinical setting and military experience shall be limited to a maximum of ten (10) years, as per credit requirements in the Salary Guideline.
Speech-Language Pathologists. 31 32.9.1 The appropriate service delivery model for each communications disordered 32 student shall be determined by the IEP team and implemented by the 33 Speech/Language Pathologist (SLP). Consistent district-wide entrance and 34 exit guidelines shall be determined by mutual agreement between the 35 Superintendent's designee and the SLP staff. The delivery of specially- 36 designed instruction by the SLP may include the following: individual or 37 small group pull-out therapy; in-classroom pull-aside therapy; and in-class 38 collaboration or consultation. Time will be provided within an SLP’s 1 schedule to perform the following functions: referral intake, assessments, 2 completion of legally required paperwork, attendance at legally required 3 meetings, material and equipment adaptation, and teacher or parent training.
4 32.9.2 Recommended group sizes for pullout small group therapy are as follows:
Speech-Language Pathologists. Speech Language Pathologist’s (SLP) who bill Medicaid will have their annual license, Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCCs) renewal paid for by the District. The SLP will be responsible for renewing this license and will be reimbursed by the District.
Speech-Language Pathologists. 1. Speech-Language Pathologists shall be paid according to the Nurses, Speech and Language Pathologists, & Psychologists salary schedule (UTR NS&P).
2. The District and Union shall collaborate to create a system for assigning SLPs that takes into account factors such as the time spent providing face-to-face direct services to students as well as the time spent performing other activities necessary to support students’ education programs, implement best practices for school speech-language services, and to ensure compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 (IDEA, 2004) and other mandates. The first meeting shall occur within two months of ratification of this agreement by both parties. The SELPA retains sole authority to establish case load if agreements cannot be made.
3. SLPs shall be assigned to schools based upon the following factors:
a. Caseload at the site
b. The weighting system referred to in paragraph 2 above.
c. SLP’s skills, training, and expertise
d. Workload Balance.
4. The work year for Speech-Language Pathologists shall be in accordance with Article 22, Section
