Supervisory Differential. 18.01 A supervisory differential as established in Appendix “D”, shall be paid to employees in the bargaining unit who encumber positions which receive a supervisory rating under the classification standard and who perform supervisory duties. Effective March 31, 2006, this supervisory differential shall continue only for those employees who at that time are receiving the supervisory differential and who are in receipt of salary protection. If and when they move into the new classification system, their entitlement to the supervisory differential shall cease.

Supervisory Differential. Effective with and during the term of this Memorandum of Understanding, the City shall maintain a minimum pay differential of ten percent (10%) between the top step base rate paid to HAME-represented supervisory classifications and the top step base rate of their highest-paid subordinate classification. This provision is not intended to serve as a means of reducing a HAME represented supervisory salary differential that currently exceeds ten percent (10%).
Supervisory Differential. 32.2.1 A one dollar ($1.00) per hour differential will apply to hours worked by an employee during the time, one (1) day or more, that the employee is designated to temporarily replace a supervisor. The supervisor, as part of the regular responsibilities of his/her class, supervises, directs, is accountable for and is in responsible charge of the work of a subordinate or subordinates. b. The supervisor must actually supervise the technical content of subordinate work and possess education and/or experience appropriate to the technical assignment. c. The organization is a permanent one approved by the Sheriff, chief administrative officer, Board or Commission, where applicable, and is a matter of record based upon review and investigation by the Human Resources Department. d. The classifications of both the supervisor and the subordinate are appropriate to the organization and have a normal, logical relationship to each other in terms of their respective duties and levels of responsibility and accountability in the organization. 144. e. The compensation schedule of the supervisor is less than one full step (approximately 5%) over the compensation schedule, exclusive of extra pay, of the employee supervised. In determining the compensation schedule of a classification being paid a flat rate, the flat rate will be converted to a bi-weekly rate and the compensation schedule the top step of which is closest to the flat rate so converted shall be deemed to be the compensation schedule of the flat rate classification.
Supervisory Differential. Notwithstanding Section 4.62.2 of the LAAC, any bona fide supervisory employee as defined by that Section, in the classes and pay grades listed below, who is at the top step of the salary range and is required to supervise any subordinate who regularly receives a professional registration bonus pursuant to Article 9.6, Registration and Certification Bonuses of this MOU, shall receive a supervisory differential at the rate of two (2) premium level rates above the base rate, including the registration bonus, of the highest paid subordinate. No other shift differentials, bonuses, or premiums will be included in computing the subordinate’s pay level. Supervisory Differential. Effective October 1, 2002, nothwithstanding any other provision of this MOU, a bona fide supervisory employee in a class which has its compensation fixed by range number, shall be paid at a rate at least two premium levels higher than the rate of the highest paid subordinate under his or her charge. For the purposes of this Article, “bonafide supervisory employee” means a full-time, regularly assigned supervisor with full administrative and technical authority to assign, review and approve work of his or her subordinates, and to impose discipline. The rates to be compared in determining the supervisory differential shall be the maximum salary rates of the salary ranges prescribed for the authorized and allocated classes of the bonafide supervisor and the subordinate, excluding any premiums, bonuses, or working condition differentials. The City Adminstrative Officer shall investigate all employment situations described by this Article and shall notify the Controller whenever a supervisory differential shall be paid pursuant to this Article.
Supervisory Differential. 1. A police officer assigned by Police Management to serve temporarily in a higher job classification, such as Police Sergeant, and who are required to supervise employees of a lower job classification shall, for the purpose of this provision, be referred to as “supervisors.” 2. A Police Officer who is temporarily assigned to perform duties of a supervisor shall be paid an additional ten dollars ($10) per work shift commencing with the third (3rd) consecutive work shift, and will be paid quarterly. 3. The parties agree that to the extent permitted by law, the compensation for Supervisory Differential is special compensation reported as such pursuant to Title 2 CCR, Section 571(a)(4).
Supervisory Differential. A supervisory differential of 2.7% shall be paid to employees who are assigned to regularly supervise other employees in the same job classification and who are not covered under the terms of Section 2.06 of this MOU.
