Union President Release Time. The President of the Alliance shall be provided with release time in an amount equivalent to one fifth (1/5) of his/her schedule of teaching and/or other professional duties. The President of the Alliance shall continue to be provided full pay and all other benefits of professional employment by the Committee. In the event that the President of the Alliance is a teacher in an elementary school, the Alliance will reimburse the Committee for fifty percent (50%) of the cost incurred for a substitute.
Union President Release Time. The Union President or his/her designee, subject to Board approval, may be allowed release time, for the investigation of grievances or other activities relating to school or employee welfare. The President or his/her designee shall notify the Supervisor of each event.
Union President Release Time. (UPT). Release time for the Union President if the president is working on a 40-hour workweek shall be dealt with as follows:
1) The City agrees to continue to pay the President full-time wages, fringe benefits and any other benefit a full-time represented employee would accrue, in order to protect his/her pension accrual. Provided that in consideration of a half-time release of the President from City duties, the Union agrees to reimburse the City for fifty percent (5 hours per day, 4 days a week) of the President's salary except for those days the President is on a recognized holiday, vacation, sick leave, injury or jury duty. If the President is a member of the Public Employees Retirement System, the City and the Union agree to abide by the rules and regulations of PERS regarding compensation and service credit.
2) The President shall continue to accrue vacation and sick leave; and coverage for medical, vision, dental and life insurance as any other full-time employee. The Union shall reimburse the City for one half of the value of vacation and sick leave accruals, one half of the President's holiday pay and one half the cost for medical, vision, dental and life insurance.
3) The President shall have a regular work schedule of Monday through Thursday, 7 AM to 12 noon (regular work hours), for a 20-hour work week. The President will be released after 12 noon for the purpose of serving as an officer or employee of the Portland Fire Fighters Association. If necessary, the President may flex the regular work hours, within regular business hours, to conduct Union business as long as the hours are made up during the same week. In the event the President, due to unforeseen circumstances, is unable to make up all the necessary time during the same week, alternative arrangements will be made with the approval of the Fire Chief, appropriate Division Chief or designee.
4) The President will make a reasonable effort not to use paid or reimbursable release time during the President's regular work hours. Such release time shall only be used for those activities listed in Subsection 3 or 5 of this Article.
5) Time spent on the following types of activities, during the President's regular work hours, will count toward the 5 hours of work for the President's regular work day:
a) Paid or Exempt release time attending disciplinary hearings, court, negotiations, arbitrations, City scheduled meetings, Executive Board and General Membership meetings, Labor/Management meeting...
Union President Release Time. The Union President shall be released from his/her normal duties for up to eight
Union President Release Time. The Union President shall be granted release time of twenty (20) workdays without deduction in pay to be mutually agreed between the President and the Superintendent for the purpose of conducting in-District Union business.
Union President Release Time. The Union President shall be granted release time of two (2) hours per day to be mutually agreed between the President and the immediate supervisor, plus any urgent need upon mutual agreement, to conduct Union business.
Union President Release Time. The Employer agrees to release the President of the Union from regular duties for up to twelve (12) working hours per month to conduct Union business for the local as follows:
(a) The Employer shall continue to pay the President their wages and benefits; and
(b) The Union shall reimburse the Employer for said wages and benefits upon receipt of invoice.
Union President Release Time. The AFSCME President shall be paid at the employee’s current salary by the Authority while performing representational duties for AFSCME, up to 16 hours per week. The Union shall reimburse the Authority up to 16 hours per week, payable monthly.
Union President Release Time. The Unit President or designee shall be allowed 10 days off with pay per contract year for purposes of attending UNION conferences, conventions or meetings of the State-wide CSEA or its affiliates. The total number of work days off with pay shall not exceed 10 for each year of this Agreement. Unit President release days not used during the calendar year shall not accumulate or carry-over to the next calendar year. Requests for time off shall be made whenever practicable 10 days in advance to the City Manager. If 10 days’ notice is not practicable, notice shall be given as soon as practicable after the Unit President determines the need to request the time off. The request shall include prior evidence of registration for the conferences, conventions or meetings. The party granted 1/ 19/18 the leave time shall submit evidence of attendance of the conference convention or meeting for which granted time-off with pay.
Union President Release Time. The Union President shall be granted release time of twenty (20) workdays without deduction in pay for the purpose of conducting in-District Union business. Administrative requests for attendance of Union Representation at specific meetings shall not be deducted from the allocated days. Further, if a meeting is disciplinary in nature, and a teacher has requested representation, these meetings shall not be deducted from the allocated days. In the event there are unused days at the end of the school year, up to five (5) unused days may be carried over to the next school year to a maximum of twenty-five (25) days. The Superintendent may grant additional days without precedential effect.
