WAGES, HOURS AND OVERTIME. 1. Effective July 1, 2016, all members of the unit will receive a four percent (4%) cost of living increase. Wage rates in effect on July 1, 2016 for all unit positions are presented in Appendix A. Effective July 1, 2017, all members of the unit will receive a two percent (2%) cost of living increase. Wage rates in effect on July 1, 2017 for all unit positions are presented in Appendix B. Effective July 1, 2018, all members of the unit will receive a two percent (2%) cost of living increase. Wage rates in effect on July 1, 2018 for all unit positions are presented in Appendix C. Effective July 1, 2019, all members of the unit will receive a two percent (2%) cost of living increase. Wage rates in effect on July 1, 2019 for all unit positions are presented in Appendix D. Effective July 1, 2020, all members of the unit will receive a two percent (2%) cost of living increase. Wage rates in effect on July 1, 2020 for all unit positions are presented in Appendix E. In general, the step rate program is intended to operate as follows: A new employee will be hired at Step 1. Upon subsequent annual employment anniversary dates, employees will advance up the step scale. Typically, an employee will reach Step 6 on their 5 year anniversary. Further, as is the case on July 1, 2016, the parties may negotiate an increase to the salary scale that is effective on a specific date. In this case, the pay rate of an employee at a given Step will increase to the new amount of that given Step on the effective date of the negotiated increase. (The parties acknowledge that there may be candidate qualification or availability circumstances which lead to hiring a new employee at a step greater than Step 1. The parties agree that the Town may hire an employee at Step 1, 2, or 3. The Town will inform the Union prior to hiring an employee at any step greater than Step 1.) 2. Hours of work are established by the Department Head. The normal workweek for full- time employees is 40 hours and the normal workday is 8 hours, but either may vary in accordance with various departments’ schedules. Flex-time schedules may be established to address the needs of the Town. No schedule shall consist of more than a 10-hour normal workday. WAGES, HOURS AND OVERTIME. 1. The new hire entry rate, for all regular full-time and part- time employees will be implemented in accordance with Schedule A. (a) Upon ratification, all regular full-time and part-time Employees will receive a one dollar ($1) wage increase retroactive for hours worked to August 2, 2021. (b) Effective April 4, 2022, all regular full-time and part-time Employees will receive a sixty-five cent (.65) wage rate increase. Employees on payroll as of April 4, 2022 are eligible for the wage increase. (c) Effective March 27, 2023, all regular full-time and part-time Employees will receive a sixty-five cent (.65) wage rate increase. Employees on payroll as of March 27, 2023 are eligible for the wage increase. (d) The base wage rate increases will apply to the salary schedule. 3. All eligible regular full-time and part-time Employees will receive longevity increases payable in June of each year. Entitlement to longevity increases (effective 4/1/2022) will be based on years of service as of June 1st of the current year. 4. The Employer shall pay wages following the end of each week. An itemized statement of all legal deductions shall be given to each Employee on each payday. The payday, once established, shall not be changed except with Union consent. 5. The basic workweek for full time Employees shall consist of forty (40) hours per week on five (5) days. A day’s work shall consist of eight (8) hours work within nine (9) hours, two half- hour periods for meals and/or rest included. New jobs shall be classified by the Company, provided however, that the classification for the new job shall be determined on the basis of a fair and equitable relationship to the existing job classification structure, having regard to the skill, duties, responsibilities, effort, working conditions and the essential qualification requirements of the job and shall be subject to review through the grievance procedure including arbitration. Simplifies and improves the efficiency of the pay administration process, while reducing variations in the employee's base pay, from pay period to pay period.

Change to read: and "Shift employees on a two-shift, schedule will report at a.m. and may punch out up to fifteen minutes early when properly relieved by the shift." Second sentence to be replaced with the following: "Overtime for continuous operations will normally be covered by work on days off and may be scheduled at the discretion of supervision to correct inequities in overtime distribution. The "spareboard" will only be used when there is insufficient notice to schedule overtime.
