Workday & Work Week. The normal work day and work week for permanent employees shall be a five (5) day, forty (40) hour week or its equivalent. The normal hours of work for permanent employees are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. Lunch periods shall be scheduled for all employees and are typically one (1) hour, but may be modified by mutual consent. Employees shall not be paid for lunch periods. Regularly scheduled meal periods may be counted as time worked when the nature of the work prevents relief from all duties; i.e. emergency repairs or emergency response. Application of this rule only applies to field maintenance crews and must be approved by the crew members’ supervisor. The City, may, with two weeks’ notice, adjust work hours by one hour at the beginning and end of the work day without mutual consent. Therefore, the work day may begin at 7:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. or begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 6:00 p.m. for certain groups and/or individuals. The work week may include Saturday. This provision does not apply to classes previously in the Maintenance Bargaining Unit as noted on Exhibit A with an asterisk. The following shift schedules shall apply to such former Maintenance Bargaining Unit employees: They shall not be scheduled to work a shift in which the regular starting and ending times deviate more than two (2) hours during the same work week. Park crews will be shifted on a seasonal basis with notice. All personnel working at the Waste Water Treatment Plant are assigned to work four (4), ten (10) hour shifts per week as assigned by the Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager. There are three shifts, as follows: Shift #1 will begin Thursday and run through Sunday. Shift #2 will begin Tuesday and run through Friday. Shift #3 will begin Monday and run through Thursday. Alternatively, WWTP employees may request to work a 5/8 work week. This may be approved by the WWTP Manager as long as the 4/10 schedule is still available to other WWTP employees. Workday & Work Week. For the purpose of this Agreement, eight (8) consecutive hours shall constitute a regular workday and a work week shall be five (5) consecutive workdays; provided, however, that this statement is intended only to provide a basis for calculating overtime and does not constitute a guarantee or limitation of hours per day or per week. Employees covered by this Agreement shall not lose any benefits provided by this Agreement in order to comply with any provisions of this Article. The City agrees to provide for a forty (40) hour week for each employee covered by this Agreement.

Workday & Work Week. Section 1. The regular workday shall normally consist of eight 10 or 12-continuous hours in a 24-hour period. This does not preclude the Employer from determining alternate work schedules. The Employer will notify bargaining unit members at least 30 calendar days prior to implementation of any alternate work schedule. The 24-hour period starts when the employee begins his/her shift and ends 24 hours later. However, an exception is made for regularly scheduled alternating shifts with a short shift changeover, which requires scheduling more than eight hours in a 24-hour period. Such short shift changeovers shall not be eligible for overtime pay on those days the short changeover occurs. Employees will normally be provided a minimum of eight hours rest time between shifts.
Workday & Work Week. 11.1.1. Any runs requiring two (2) hours or less will be compensated with two (2) hours pay. This pertains to a.m., midday, and p.m. runs. Full-Time Classified Employee: The typical work week of a classified employee is defined as working in a classification as follows for a specific period of time: Custodial, Secretarial; Special Education Driver; Mechanic/Maintenance; shall be forty (40) hours per week, eight (8) hours per day, and shall have five (5) consecutive days per week for twelve (12) months per year unless specifically agreed to as a flex schedule or in writing between the Superintendent and OSEA. Youth Transition Specialist shall be 20 hours per week, four (4) hours per day, and shall have five (5) consecutive days per week for eleven (11) months per year unless specifically agreed to as a flex schedule or in writing between the Superintendent and OSEA. Cafeteria positions and Library Technicians shall average approximately 17 to twenty (20) hours per week, four (4) hours per day, and shall have five (5) consecutive days per week for ten (10) months per year unless specifically agreed to as a flex schedule or in writing between the Superintendent and OSEA.
Workday & Work Week. A. All full-time and hourly unit members covered hereunder shall be required to work on each and every day that school is in session and lunch is scheduled to be served to the students, including days when students are dismissed before lunch.
