BASIS OF REPRESENTATION. A. The privilege of stewards to leave their work during working hours, without loss of pay, is extended with the understanding that the time will be devoted to the prompt handling of grievances and will not be abused, and that they will continue to work at their assigned jobs at all times except when permitted to leave their work to handle grievances.
B. There shall also be one Chief Xxxxxxx and one alternate Chief Xxxxxxx.
C. There shall be a grievance committee consisting of the Chief Xxxxxxx and two other members to be selected by the Union and certified in writing to the Employer. The Employer shall meet whenever necessary, at a mutually convenient time, with the Union grievance committee. The purpose of the grievance committee meetings will be to adjust pending grievances and to discuss procedures for avoiding future grievances. In addition, the committee may discuss with the Employer other issues which would improve the relationship between the parties.
D. The following provision was awarded to the Union by Chairman XxXxxxxx in an Act 312 compulsory arbitration proceeding and is not included here by negotiations. The Local Union President shall, at his/her option, be scheduled on the day shift, Monday through Friday. The Local Union President may conduct Union business at the Department, however, he/she shall not leave his/her work area without the permission of his/her supervisor, which permission will not be unreasonably withheld. All other Union business shall be conducted after working hours.
BASIS OF REPRESENTATION. Section 1. The full-time employees of the White Lake Township Police Department shall have the right to be represented in all negotiations and complaints and adjustments of disputes by the chairman or a Xxxxxxx, each of whom must be a seniority Employee of the Township. These representatives are to be elected or appointed in any manner determined by the Union. The Township must be notified as soon as possible of any change in representation.
Section 2. Representation for White Lake Township shall consist of a Chairman and one Xxxxxxx.
Section 3. The Union may appoint or elect one alternate Xxxxxxx. The alternate may act as Xxxxxxx only when the Xxxxxxx is absent.
Section 4. The Xxxxxxx will be permitted to leave his work station, after obtaining approval from his supervisor, for the purpose of adjusting grievances in accordance with the grievance procedure, excepting however, the first step of the grievance procedure. Permission for the Xxxxxxx to leave his work station will not be unreasonably withheld. He will report to his supervisor upon his return. The privilege of the Xxxxxxx to leave his work station during working hours, without the loss of pay, is extended only with the understanding that the time will be devoted
Section 5. There shall be a grievance committee consisting of the Xxxxxxx and one other member to be selected by the Union and certified in writing to the Employer.
Section 6. The Employer shall meet whenever necessary, at a mutually convenient time, with the Union Grievance committee. The purpose of grievance committee meetings will be to adjust pending grievances and to discuss procedures for avoiding future grievances. In addition, the committee may discuss with the Employer other issues which would improve the relationship between the parties.

B. There shall be a grievance committee consisting of not more than two members of the Association.
C. The names of officers selected as Association representatives and alternates, and the name of the President of the Association, shall be certified in writing to the City by the Association.
D. The Association representatives may investigate and process grievances during working hours without loss of pay, if the case so warrants, and this privilege shall not be abused. Association representatives will be permitted to leave their work, after obtaining approval of their respective supervisors and recording their time. Permission for Association representatives to leave their work stations will not be unreasonably withheld. Association representatives will report their time to their respective supervisors upon returning from a grievance discussion.

BASIS OF REPRESENTATION. A. In each representative Precinct (See Schedule A) Employees shall be represented by one
(1) xxxxxxx for each shift, who shall be a regularly scheduled bargaining unit employee working in that Precinct and on that shift. One (1) alternate may be selected in each Precinct for each shift to serve in the absence of the xxxxxxx. The member selected shall, for the purpose of title only, be considered a xxxxxxx and not an alternate xxxxxxx.
B. The representative units and number of representatives allocated to each entity are listed in Schedule A attached to this Agreement. If any existing precinct, or entity is eliminated or any new precinct, or entity is created, or if the number of bargaining unit personnel of any existing entity is increased or decreased substantially, the parties to this Agreement shall re-negotiate the number of representatives allocated to such entity on a basis consistent with the principle of proportional representation.
C. Stewards shall be allowed to communicate official Union business to members prior to on-duty roll call or following off-duty roll call.
D. Only one (1) chief xxxxxxx and one (1) xxxxxxx from each shift shall enjoy top seniority insofar as remaining with their precinct, section, unit, district or platoon during their term of office, and they shall not be transferred out of their Precinct, Section, Unit, District or Platoon, except for justifiable cause, reduction in force, or in connection with civilianization and/or use of Police Assistants in accordance with the terms of this Agreement. This provision will apply when reductions in force occur except when a Section, Unit, or Platoon is discontinued or otherwise inactivated or consolidated.
E. Those nine (9) stewards who are members of the Executive Board of the Union shall be allowed a minimum of one (1) working day a month without loss of pay or benefits to attend Executive Board meetings.
F. Only one (1) xxxxxxx from each representative Precinct, Section, or Unit shall be excused from work without loss of pay or benefits to attend the monthly Board of Directors meetings when such meetings coincide with their normal working hours.
G. The President, Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer and Sergeant-at-Arms shall be allowed to conduct Union business on a full-time basis without loss of pay or benefits. When reductions in force occur, the above titled officers will have top seniority under Article 10.

This means that during the term of this agreement you will not yourself act or appoint any other agent to represent you in relation to the Works and will refer all approaches regarding your Works to us. We will represent your interests to the best of our ability, using sub-agents where we consider this appropriate (which you hereby authorise) in relation to the exploitation of all your Works, but we will not commit you to any agreement without your approval. The Department will grant a necessary and reasonable amount of time off, during working hours, and with regular pay for lost time, to Association officers and grievance committee members, who must necessarily be present for direct participation in the grievance adjustments, special conferences, and any other necessary business with the Department. This privilege shall not interfere with vital police service.
C. The officers of the Association may be permitted to discuss Association business with members during duty hours, provided such discussions do not interfere with such member’s or officer’s duties.
D. The Association officer and the Board of Directors shall be released from duty to attend Board meetings.
E. If the President of the Association is authorized or required to appear or perform any duties under this Agreement, he/she may appoint a designee to represent him/her.
F. The Association President shall not be prohibited from speaking publicly through any form of communication.
G. A copy of each special order, general order, personnel order, teletype order, or training bulletins, or their equivalents, shall be provided to the Association President.
