Clerical Staff. Full and part-time secretaries, bookkeepers, registrars, administrative assistants, special education secretaries, district library secretary, attendance office secretaries and receptionists, but excluding Secretary to Superintendent, Human Resources Administrative Assistant, Secondary Curriculum Administrative Assistant and Elementary Curriculum Administrative Assistant, Payroll, Food Service Secretary and Fiscal Service Assistant. (“Clerical Staff”)
Clerical Staff. The regular work week for all office personnel shall consist of five (5) consecutive work days of seven (7) hours each, exclusive of a meal period, from Monday to Friday inclusive.
Clerical Staff. 1. Bargaining Unit employees will not exclusively be held responsible for first aid functions in the building. Minor health problems such as administering band-aids, cleaning wounds, taking temperatures and treating minor cuts and abrasions are considered the responsibility of any employee of the District. It is not acceptable on anyone's part to abandon an injured or seriously sick person; these kinds of cases require immediate notice to parents, police and use of other emergency procedures available for such purposes.
2. Bargaining Unit employees shall be allowed the use of telephones for emergency, grievance and/or information purposes. The use should be limited in frequency and duration.
3. Use of an employee's personal automobile for District business is not a condition of employment. When an employee is requested to use her/his personal automobile, s/he shall be reimbursed at the current IRS mileage rate that is in effect.
4. Bargaining Unit employees will be supplied equipment on an equitable basis to perform their jobs. It is agreed that office equipment is subject to the facilities and finances of the District.
5. Except in emergencies, clerical employees shall not be required to monitor pupils prior to, during, or following school.
6. Bargaining Unit employees will not be required to transport funds or students.
7. Clerical work should not be construed as a job of manual labor, therefore, Bargaining Unit employees are prohibited from lifting heavy items.
8. Bargaining Unit employees will not be required to handle individual cafeteria lunch sales for students except where students have lost or forgotten their lunch money.
9. No agency or other group will direct the work of Bargaining Unit employees. In cases where special work for teachers, PTA, Boy Scouts and others is requested, the principal's prior approval must be obtained.
Clerical Staff. The regular hours of work for clerical employees shall not exceed seven hours per day, nor five hours per week, Monday to Friday, exclusive of lunch hour. Ten month employees and other employees in schools are required to work on all prescribed school days, regardless of whether classes are in session or not.
Clerical Staff. 11.2.8.1 Initial placement on the salary schedule for new Clerical Staff to the District will always be at Level 0. The District may give the new Clerical Staff credit for previous experience earned outside of the District and thereby start the new Clerical Staff on the regular salary schedule higher than Level 0.

11.2.8.4 Movement on Salary Schedule Upon completion of each Work Year a Clerical Staff will advance to the next level on the salary schedule effective July 1.
11.2.8.5 Compensation for Clerical Staff shall be per salary schedules attached to this Agreement, provided, however, that Clerical Staff members employed prior to the effective date of this Agreement shall retain current wage rate.
Clerical Staff. (a) Eight (8) hours shall constitute a day's work between 0800 hours and 1700 hours, Monday to Friday inclusive, a total of forty (40) hours per week provided that the starting time may be altered to provide for a starting time one (1) hour earlier than the time specified above. Alteration of the starting time will be by mutual agreement and will not constitute overtime unless more than eight (8) hours are worked that day. It being agreed that in order to provide adequate service to customers, the Telephone Customer Service Counter shall be kept open continuously from 0830 to 1630 hours Monday to Friday inclusive, and at least one
(1) Employee shall be on duty during noon hour.
(b) All other time worked shall be considered overtime and shall be paid at the appropriate rate of pay.
Clerical Staff. 1. School Closed Prior to Beginning of the School Day Secretarial and Teacher Aide employees shall not be required to report to work. The District shall maintain a volunteer call-in list which shall be used in a rotating manner for snow day assignments to insure coverage at the school on said day and may be sent home prior to the end of the regular work day at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools. Employees directed to work during a school closing shall receive a minimum of four (4) hours pay at the overtime rate. Should no one volunteer the least senior member of the clerical or aide staff will be called on a rotating basis.

(As these Clerical Staff members employed prior to the effective date of this Agreement reach a wage rate that exists on the salary schedule for Clerical Staff, the member shall thereafter be paid according the applicable salary schedule.)
Clerical Staff. 14.2.1 For the avoidance of doubt, in the case of employees covered by this agreement who would otherwise be governed by the terms of the NSW Clerical And Administrative Employees Legal Industry Consolidated (State) Award, the “protected notional conditions” (as defined in the Workplace Relations Act, 1996) in that Award do not apply under this agreement including without limitation Clause 3(xi) (Saturday Loadings), Clause 5 (Meal Breaks), Clause 6 (Overtime), Clause 7 (Meal Allowance), Clause 8 (Shift Work), Clause 9 (Public Holidays), Clause 12 (Annual Leave Loading), Clause 19 (Traveling Expenses) and Table 2 of Part B.
