Eligibility for Full time Faculty Positions Unit Members may apply and shall be considered for any new or vacant full-time faculty position in accordance with established District hiring policies and procedures. 13.9.1 A bargaining unit member’s application packet for an advertised full-time Academic position will be forwarded to the screening committee provided he or she meets the following requirements: 13.9.1.1 The advertised minimum qualifications for the position. 13.9.1.2 Completion of all the required application procedures. 13.9.2 For each advertised full-time Academic position, the District will provide Part- time Faculty United, upon completion of the hiring process, with the number of applicants meeting the minimum qualifications, the number of bargaining unit members who applied and the number of bargaining unit members interviewed by the Screening Committee, providing members of the part-time faculty identify themselves. 13.9.3 Vacant full-time positions will be posted on the District website. Part-Time Faculty United, will be notified in writing, or by email, of all full-time vacancies within fifteen (15) days of the decision to open a position for hire. 13.9.4 When a position is being filled on an interim basis to allow for full and open recruitment, a Unit Member may be appointed to fill the position on a temporary basis [Title 5, Sec. 53021(b)(1)]. “Where in-house or promotional only recruitment is permitted, the district shall comply with its established hiring procedures and all district employees shall be afforded the opportunity to apply and demonstrate that they are qualified.” [Title 5, Sec. 53021(b)(3)].
Eligibility for Full time teachers only. A sabbatical leave is granted at the discretion of the Board and is designed to encourage the improvement of instruction, supervision and administration in the District. A full-time teacher may apply for a sabbatical leave during or after the seventh (7th) year of continuous service in the District. Under exceptional circumstances, the Board may waive the seven year requirement. A teacher must present a detailed sabbatical leave proposal for approval by the Board upon recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools. This proposal must be submitted to the Superintendent prior to January 1st of the school year preceding the sabbatical leave. Applicants will be notified of the decisions prior to May 1st. If a sabbatical is otherwise approvable, the Board will present the cost as part of the regular budget for which the Board will use good faith to secure funding; provided, in the event of economic hardship, the Board, by separate vote, may deny the sabbatical for the current year. Sabbatical leaves will be available only for full year study or research programs which offer potential benefit both to the individual teacher and the school system. Travel will not be approved except when necessary and incidental to a study program. Only one teacher will be granted a leave during a year. In the event more than one teacher applies, preference will be given to the teacher who, as a result of his/her sabbatical, becomes certified in a critical shortage area. The teacher will receive one-half (.5) his/her annual salary for the year he/she is on sabbatical. During the sabbatical, the teacher will receive credit on the salary schedule for the sabbatical. The teacher will receive such other medical and life insurance benefits as are offered to all teachers in active service, if such plans permit, while on sabbatical leave. While on sabbatical leave, the teacher will be ineligible to accumulate or draw upon sick leave. The teacher is expected to return to the Marlborough School District for a minimum of two (2) years following the fellowship year. If he/she terminates his/her employment before the end of the two (2) year period, he/she must repay the full amount of the sabbatical leave grant upon termination except in case of hardship in which case the teacher must repay within a five (5) year period the amount of the fellowship grant through signing a promissory note indicating the amount, method, and schedule of payment at the time leave is taken.
Eligibility for Full. Time Employees - The District will provide a health and welfare program for each regular full-time school year employee, as provided herein. The District will consider an employee working thirty (30) hours or more a week as a full-time employee for the purposes of this Article. The policy with its provisions shall be attached as part of the master Agreement. (Domestic Partner Coverage) 3. Xxxxxx Permanente Medical Plan - Group No. 2838-00 ($10 office visit, B. Approval by the Sick Leave Bank Review Committee is required prior to the receiving of benefits. 7. Normal pregnancies, childbirth, childcare, or child adoption shall not be considered as eligible reasons for Sick Leave Bank benefits. 8. A four (4)-member Sick Leave Bank Review Committee, consisting of two (2) members appointed by the President of the Association and two (2) appointed by the Superintendent, shall have the responsibility of receiving requests, verifying the validity of requests and approval or denial of requests. Any approval of a request must have the support of at least three (3) members of the committee Sick Leave Bank Review Committee. The Sick Leave Bank Review Committee shall develop its rules of procedure and shall give wide distribution to said rules upon approval of the President of the Association and the Superintendent.

  • Eligibility for Holiday Pay A. An employee must be paid for all or a portion of both the regularly scheduled working assignment immediately prior to a holiday and the regularly scheduled working assignment immediately after that holiday in order to receive holiday pay. With County approval, compensatory time earned for working on a holiday or for a holiday falling on a regularly scheduled day off may be taken on the first scheduled working day after the holiday. B.
